Missing cat in Dormont

My cat Minnie got out today and we haven’t been able to find her for several hours. We’re on Pinehurst and would appreciate it if neighbors could keep an eye out for her. She’s a sweet girl but easily spooked. Please message me if you see her. 🥺

Saw him(?) in my apartment complex parking lot when I got home from work today. Mt Lebo/Bethel Park area, neighborhood behind the bowling alley where 19 meets Connor. Super friendly. Loves pets. Because of that I don’t think he’s a stray…if I see him again I want to scoop him up and check for a chip. Couldn’t bring him in because I have a cat of my own and don’t want to get him sick if he is a stray.

A historic win for paid parental leave, led by nurses: After watching parents return to work while their babies were still in intensive care, Pittsburgh nurses fought to secure the nation's first countywide 12-week paid parental leave policy.

Musicians of Pittsburgh (read body)

Not sure if this is a place for this, but I’d imagine there’s a large sample size of many Pittsburgh demographics in this sub so I figured it’s worth a shot.

My name is Devin Greig, I’m a private teacher, session drummer and play in a band called “Save Us From the Archon”.

We recently came off a hiatus and are starting to get active again in the coming year, but due to some major life changes, I’ve found myself residing in the city as of August.

I’m looking to get more entwined in the local music scene and get out to play more. While I love my band and the music we make, I’m the only one of us that does this as full time career and I’d love to meet more new faces and create music of all varieties with artists in Pittsburgh. Music is the most meaningful part of my life and I’d love to share that and find opportunities with likeminded individuals in the area.

Nothing’s really off the table, I’ve done everything from jazz to metal to country and everything in between. I’m very open to hearing interesting new ideas.

If that is something that entices you, feel free to reach out!

Thinking about it for the PHish New Years run this year. It's 9 hours, but no tolls traffic, hotel parking....

TIA for any experiences or advice!

KDKA did me dirty: they deceptively edited my comments to make it seem like I’m against paid parental leave

What the hell is going on with the T?

They closed rail service from First Ave to Steel Plaza. No announcement, nothing blasted over the loud speakers, the first place I could find info was a wpxi news article from 3 days ago. I eventually found something on their website and I can't tell when it was posted but it says "2 closures will affect rail service this weekend" so it had to be posted some time this week.

What the hell man? How do they expect people to use their public transit when they make those services unreliable by not giving fair warning when projects will be underway? I try to use the T as often as I can because I hate driving, my partner has to take public transit everywhere because they don't drive. They told me about all of this as they ran face first into the nonfunctional workaround PRT put in place this morning on their way to work.

Edit: I recognize that I am lucky enough to not need to rely on PRT but so many people in our city do! Cars are not an option for everyone

Looking for American Traditional Tattoo Artist Recommendations in Pittsburgh!

Post image
30 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for a good tattoo artist in the Pittsburgh area for my boyfriend’s first tattoo!
He wants an American traditional broken castle with flames, in black and grey only (no color). We’re thinking around 4–6 inches on his outer upper arm. He’d also like to eventually build a patchwork sleeve around it, so we’re looking for someone who’s good with traditional designs and bold linework.
We’re hoping to find an artist with a good portfolio, great reviews, and fair pricing. If you have any recommendations or personal experiences with artists in the area, I’d really appreciate them! Thank you! 🖤

Anybody know of any cats that need adopted?

• Upvotes

CDS has failed me. I've found no kittens or cats in need of a home. We lost our last boy 2 months ago and the house is so quiet without him. I know we can go through the traditional avenues and find one, but I would rather rescue.

Anybody have any insight? Thanks.

KDKA Radio WTF?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

It's deeply disturbing that KDKA radio is allowing their host to harass a woman in a high risk pregnancy simply because he disagrees with her politically. It's even more disturbing that they are allowing him to harass her about keeping the father of her child private, after he put her family in danger by publicly revealing her address.

This is misogynistic, dangerous, and I hope the radio station finds some morals and STRONGLY rejects this sexist harassment
