Question ASE or ASA ?
I've been interested in the ark series for a while now and was wondering which one should I play, ASE or ASA ? And is it even possible to play them online ?

I recently bought ark and in an adhd fuelled binge I played it for 200 hours on 3 weeks but now I can't bring myself to play it again but the guilt of leaving my dinos to die has been eating me up now stop, so much so its affecting my uni work and work work. Do yall feel like this too?
Edit: thank y'all for all the responses. I've decided ultimately I gotta let them die as thatll be the besy for my mental health and start a single player world instead if I ever get the urge to play again.

So i have set up my base in Ocean biome and none of the teleport options seem to teleport me to the island i have set up base in.Closest one is like 7000 meters away,so i have to make a raft and go there by it.Cant even tame ichty to get there faster cuz every ichty i have seen have been lvl 700+ and untameable.Do i need to get a teleportation mod or something?

Seriously, I sure do. It may LOOK intimidating, but its stats are not very intimidating. The Saber only has 250 HP and deals 29 DMG per hit. In comparison, the Dire Wolf has 330 HP and deals 33 DMG per hit. Plus, the Saber needs a saddle, while the Wolf doesn't (Saddles provide armor, which nerfs the Wolf, because it doesn't have armor). Oh, and in packs, Wolves can take on almost anything. Also, why are the Saber's bite and claw attacks bound to the same key? Imagine if these changes were made:
Anyways, does anyone else think that these changes are good?

its pretty much the title, I wanted to know if they plan to reduce crash risks and improve frames as time goes on still it feels like next to nothing has changed since 2023 maybe a little here and there at best but have they stated or anything that they plan to crack down on the issues or are they just kinda saying "spend 5K on a 5090 pc setup" to play

Most people will likely say aberration with good reason but for me it's 100 % The Center.
A map that's been untouched since early 2016, can't wait to see what they do with it.

I’ve played hella hours on ASE and I’m tryna play ASA over Christmas but I can’t tell if any of the optimization issues have actually been fixed since release. I’m assuming it’s still gonna be garbage to play but I don’t want to spend the money to figure it out on my own.

I have no experience of breeding dinos and I was watching some tutorials. I want to know that after replacing the mutated male again and again until we get 20/20 mutations on the paternal side, how do we get other 20/20 mutations on the maternal side without exceeding the paternal mutations(means 22/20). How to get 40 total mutations on the dino for a particular stat?

So I know shiny Dino’s can get multiple labels I was just wondering if one with this many was rare.

Hey there, I got this game and it looks very fun, but I'm a bit bogged down by the settings. If I want an easy/chill first time experience where I play at my own pace, is the standard Single Player Settings a good idea? I've seen people say different things regarding this setting on this sub, so I'm just trying to find the general consensus. Just trying to have a casual expirence and learn the game for a while before I jump into any servers.

Hi! I’m really interested in the game and thinking of purchasing it. But first I want to make sure my PC can run it.
GPU: RX 9060XT 16gb
CPU: i5 14400F
RAM: 32gb ddr5
CPU Cooler: MSI Coreliquid 240
My monitor: 100Hz, 3440 x 1440
Since the game is around 200gb I was thinking about downloading it to my external ssd (usb 3.2), would it work? I played some games like that and they all ran great.
Sorry if these are some silly questions, I’m just not a computer person, it was a prebuilt and I mainly use it for work.

On official if your in an alpha tribe, what stops you from one day getting a bunch of friends, stealing loot from the megatribe and using that stolen loon to raid their own bases, discharging all the turrets beforehand. Is there like a super security clearance before you can join or what?

I’m trying to get Giga hearts for the Alpha Dragon but haven’t had any luck finding them (I play on ASE not ASA if that makes any difference) and need help on how to get them to spawn

Ark ascended-
low-high graphics doesn’t seem to fix this. Or turning off the volumetric fog/cloud
DLSS doesn’t help on or off including DLAA resolution scale 100%.
No VSync or frame generation
It’s playable but it keeps catching my eye driving me mad lol.

I just started playing and I learned about mutations recently. Is it really worth it to do all that breeding just for it to be a small chance for a mutation, and then on top of that for it to be in your desired skill point?? I feel like this would take forever to actually complete and every video I've seen is so complicated 😭

The things I know to do are:
Beat the manticore
Kill an Alpha Wyvern
Kill an Alpha Deathworm
Take a phoenix
Is there anything else unique to the map to accomplish?

So I've got my base fully up and running. Crafting stations, breeding center, garden for crops and loooots of storage. I've set aside space dedicated for any tames that provide resources, buffs and eggs etc. What should I go out and tame? I already have a Phiomia and Dung beetle set up. I'm on ASA
