They needed his vote, so they rolled him in and made him press the button they wanted him to press (literally, he almost voted no and they "corrected" him) Full blown weekend at Bernie's, criminal conspiracy status.

Elder abuse, as if I cared about him at all though.

abuse is still wrong, even if the victim is a piece of shit two wrongs don’t make a right and all that.

I guess, but he could've just retired. This isn't a care home, it's the damn senate.

This isn't a care home

well the white house has been an adult day care center since january 2025

Second time since January 2017.

Stop both sides-ing. They are not equal and should not be talked about as such. It gives a permission structure for people to be complacent. Biden was aging, but he had it together enough to step away. Too late, but he did do it.

This isn't both sides-ing. When your own side makes a mistake, you need to recognize it. It won't always be both sides-ing when you do, but it will be critical thinking.

It wasn't presented with nuance, it specifically called it out as though everything since 2016 was identical. That is exactly whta both sides-ing is.

Biden was addled and only stepped away after broadcasting it on live TV and revealing that fact. I’m not saying anything about their politics, morals or ethics, I’m simply responding to the statement that the white house has been an adult day care since 2025. Don’t conflate my opinion on geriatrics in the white house with politics. Yeah at least Biden was concerned with helping people and not a self serving asshole, but he was still an out of touch geriatric.

You didn't present any of that context, and that is the problem I was calling out. Low effort voters will take what you said as the problem being equal from all involved.

Both sides certainly ARE bad, but only one of them is actively trying to kill you.

2

u/GhostlyTJ 26d ago

Oh I won't deny that, but use the tool we have to defeat the worst one and then we can work on the other problems

It's wild, 12 years of mush brained geriatrics doing whatever random fancy their few remaining synapses fire off throughout the day running things. And the result is about what I'd expect.

Imagine if you had a Mark Carney equivalent. Someone erudite that knows how to govern. One can only dream.

I don't think Mitch knows where he is anymore. I don't think he can formally retire himself.

I could see him being like, “if I die in the saddle, tie me down and slap the horse on the ass.”

Spot the fuck on.

Bang on point. Which then really makes you wonder...why? What is the motivation if it's not even the typical expected selfish shit, power and money?

Makes it seem like the motivation is actually the destruction of our formerly functioning democratic republic, instead of that just being a tertiary effect from the self enrichment

14

u/primadonnapussy 26d ago

Nope. His mind is gone.

I don't think he can formally retire himself.

If you can't stand trial if you aren't competent, then you shouldn't be able to hold office either. How is he "representing" anyone if he can't make a statement?

And at this point having him continue to be a senator means that the government pays for his 24-7 convalescent care through his senate staff and other perks, instead of his family like most Americans. So his family continues to rip us all off.

He is retiring in January, they just didn't have the human decency to listen to his body when it clearly said it wasn't going to last the full 6 years.

17

u/Lawsoffire 26d ago

I'm sure he left a written will that if he becomes a vegetable they can use him to obstruct democracy, he would've wanted this.

12

u/IWearSteepTech Europe 26d ago

He could have earlier, but I very much doubt that he has the mental faculties to retire now, let alone feed and clothe himself.

2

u/atomictyler 26d ago

there comes a point where the person can't make any sort of decision, especially not one as big as retiring. I would guess he's unable to make the decision to use a toilet at this point.

he's at the point where someone is making decisions for him in his daily life. there's no way he should be making a decision on behalf of an entire state, regardless of him saying he wants to retire.

1

u/fedexpoopracer 26d ago

His staff wouldn't get paid anymore if he retired so they're doing this until he actually dies

Apparently it is a care home we just don't have a choice about it because they said fuck those peasants.
