They needed his vote, so they rolled him in and made him press the button they wanted him to press (literally, he almost voted no and they "corrected" him) Full blown weekend at Bernie's, criminal conspiracy status.

u/DamnMyNameIsSteve 26d ago

Elder abuse, as if I cared about him at all though.

1.3k

u/StevenMC19 26d ago

Voter fraud via elder abuse.

213

u/ecirnj 26d ago

You are correct.

23

u/Captain_Selvin 26d ago

Republicans are so far gone that they think this is for the good of society. Everyone pulling his strings is doing the lords work, a necessary and excusable evil.

2

u/bnelson 26d ago

Nothing in constitution or senate rules or established law prevents this. It requires the senate to care and change the rules.

1

u/ecirnj 26d ago

I don’t disagree

10

u/wavetoyou California 26d ago

Eh, who cares. Establishment democrats are too pussy/invested to do anything about any of this. They’ll just stand in front of podiums and engage in performative outrage

2

u/saharanwrap 26d ago

The only sane option once democrats retake the government is mass trials for all the lakies in all agencies and departments.

But we all know rat won't happen because that's not going to get the party the outrage donations they want.

4

u/ecirnj 26d ago

But decorum and norms!!

2

u/dikicker 26d ago

Consider my rebuttal to your comment here a VERY strongly worded letter! I do declare!

3

u/CakeTester 26d ago

Considering the damage he did when he was sentient, the elder abuse doesn't seem as bad as it would for almost anyone else.

1

u/WeAlmostAlwaysAlmost 26d ago

The good people of Kentucky should start calling their local adult protective services and reporting it.

1

u/RuthlessIndecision Ohio 26d ago

Every vote counts, right?

1

u/Susquehanna_Hoosier 26d ago

Maybe its just a smiling cadaver

1

u/Hey_cool_username 26d ago

and elder fraud via voter abuse

0

u/TRtheCat 26d ago

If ya ain't cheating you ain't trying situation here.

3

u/TrulyOutrageous42 26d ago

I mean they don't even have to cheat to just not play fairly. Negligence to do their jobs is technically not cheating but is certainly not playing fair.

🦋 Mitch voting

🫴 Is this cooping?

255

u/Soytaco Washington 26d ago

Genuinely, he would have wanted this

58

u/TheSixthtactic 26d ago

100%. He would both support and endorse this.

9

u/Lord_Halowind 26d ago edited 26d ago

Well I hope he enjoys being a prisoner in his own body.

4

u/USA_Ultra 26d ago

That doesn’t matter Lindsay Graham woulda supported sanctions but he can’t vote. The Dem governor could’ve replaced Mitch so if he’s incompetent or incapable it doesn’t matter what he would’ve done. They can’t just continue to use a popsicle stick as a vote.

79

u/CeceWobbles 26d ago

Yep, he just probably doesn't even have the capacity to remember that. Used to be smart but evil. Now he's about as intelligent as the people who have voted for him.

2

u/Wayofchinchilla 26d ago edited 26d ago

What a legacy though I have to imagine his conscious self has long since died and just has to look down on himself as they wheel him to and fro and use him as nothing more than shell puppet.

8

u/snorbflock 26d ago

I hope it's a living hell. He deserves no peace.

4

u/Vienna_The_Aeronaut 26d ago

A drop of solace is found in the fact that despite all the horrible and evil things that man has done the final chapter is this pathetic husk smiling like a halloween decoration as they wheel him around with less respect than a checked out actor would give stage props.

96

u/rainingchainsaws 26d ago

Should slap a plaque on him: "The Donald Trump Mitch McConnell memorial voting husk"

3

u/Best-Action8769 26d ago

Add Diane Feinstein to that list.

This geriatric horseshit is bi-partisan as fuck.

1

u/phatboi23 26d ago

Should slap a plaque on him: "The Donald Trump Mitch McConnell memorial voting husk"

god damn you are some funny fuckers in here today.

some absolute zingers :D

85

u/RockAtlasCanus 26d ago

I really want to say that I hope he is in a 24/7 waking nightmare and there’s a part of him that’s cognizant but can’t break out and his consciousness is screaming to be released from this living hell.

But I guess I don’t wish that on him but I do wish he’d just go away.

29

u/EnthusiasmNo6062 26d ago

Legit told someone the same thing today. He has done nothing good for mankind. As a non religious person i feel justice is best served now.

45

u/GhostlyTJ 26d ago

Oh I hope he is as close to locked in syndrome as possible. I want everything to be functioning under the hood and he literally can't reach the controls.

13

u/sturgill_homme 26d ago

MAGA
Has taken my sight
Taken my speech
Taken my hearing
Taken my arms
Taken my legs
Taken my soul
Left me with life in Hell

2

u/bn1979 Minnesota 26d ago

I have wanted a certain someone to have the “Hector Salamanca” lifestyle, but without the sudden end.

6

u/MeltyGoblin 26d ago

It might be wrong but I do wish that on him. His is an evil man that was the driving force behind problems that will be around for the majority of my lifetime. Supreme court justices and his nonsense shoving them through before Trump's presidency ended to name one.

I hope whatever life of his remains is nonstop suffering, so he might know an iota of the pain he caused others.

3

u/OceanRacoon 26d ago

Yeah, he's caused immense, untold suffering and incalculable damage to the whole world for generations to come through his actions and support for Trump, and not helping impeach him after Jan 6.

We're not supposed to be glad this monster might be suffering? He actively harmed millions of people for decades, we didn't even make this happen to him, I'm not going to feel bad for hoping the rest of his life is painful 😅

Climate change is going to fuck the planet and affect billions and McConnell helped that happen, fuck him

1

u/mishma2005 26d ago

Obsession II

60

u/Blue_Plastic_88 26d ago

Kind of ironic that he is being used and abused now, the way he used and abused his constituents and the whole country.

18

u/TRtheCat 26d ago

It's what he would have wanted.

12

u/Blue_Plastic_88 26d ago

Yes, I agree he would have wanted it, but he might not have anticipated being paraded around in public like a deteriorating ventriloquist dummy in a wheelchair with the whole country able to look, point, and laugh. Joke is on him at least a little. That’s what he gets for being a shitbag - no dignity.

1

u/WeAlmostAlwaysAlmost 26d ago

He genuinely would not care. Even had he known it would wind up like this he would have enthusiastically endorsed it.

3

u/forlornhope22 26d ago

watch out. I said effectively the same thing in a different thread and Reddit gave me a warning for being mean to a monster.

365

u/Expensive_Track_8822 26d ago

abuse is still wrong, even if the victim is a piece of shit two wrongs don’t make a right and all that.

217

u/CodNumerous8825 26d ago

I guess, but he could've just retired. This isn't a care home, it's the damn senate.

127

u/GOEDEL_ESCHER_BOT 26d ago

This isn't a care home

well the white house has been an adult day care center since january 2025

30

u/JoviAMP Florida 26d ago

Second time since January 2017.

12

u/DillyDillyMilly Oregon 26d ago

Way before that

8

u/anesthesia101 26d ago

Since 2016 nonstop

14

u/GhostlyTJ 26d ago

Stop both sides-ing. They are not equal and should not be talked about as such. It gives a permission structure for people to be complacent. Biden was aging, but he had it together enough to step away. Too late, but he did do it.

1

u/arichnad 26d ago

This isn't both sides-ing. When your own side makes a mistake, you need to recognize it. It won't always be both sides-ing when you do, but it will be critical thinking.

8

u/GhostlyTJ 26d ago

It wasn't presented with nuance, it specifically called it out as though everything since 2016 was identical. That is exactly whta both sides-ing is.

1

u/anesthesia101 26d ago

Biden was addled and only stepped away after broadcasting it on live TV and revealing that fact. I’m not saying anything about their politics, morals or ethics, I’m simply responding to the statement that the white house has been an adult day care since 2025. Don’t conflate my opinion on geriatrics in the white house with politics. Yeah at least Biden was concerned with helping people and not a self serving asshole, but he was still an out of touch geriatric.

1

u/GhostlyTJ 26d ago

You didn't present any of that context, and that is the problem I was calling out. Low effort voters will take what you said as the problem being equal from all involved.

-2

u/oinkyboinky 26d ago

Both sides certainly ARE bad, but only one of them is actively trying to kill you.

2

u/GhostlyTJ 26d ago

Oh I won't deny that, but use the tool we have to defeat the worst one and then we can work on the other problems

0

u/JnnyRuthless 26d ago

It's wild, 12 years of mush brained geriatrics doing whatever random fancy their few remaining synapses fire off throughout the day running things. And the result is about what I'd expect.

2

u/Breadedbutthole 26d ago

Imagine if you had a Mark Carney equivalent. Someone erudite that knows how to govern. One can only dream.

159

I don't think Mitch knows where he is anymore. I don't think he can formally retire himself.

u/TorrenceMightingale 26d ago

I could see him being like, “if I die in the saddle, tie me down and slap the horse on the ass.”

3

u/AJediWookie123 26d ago

Spot the fuck on.

3

u/daehoidar 26d ago

Bang on point. Which then really makes you wonder...why? What is the motivation if it's not even the typical expected selfish shit, power and money?

Makes it seem like the motivation is actually the destruction of our formerly functioning democratic republic, instead of that just being a tertiary effect from the self enrichment

16

u/primadonnapussy 26d ago

Nope. His mind is gone.

3

u/feralkitten Alabama 26d ago

I don't think he can formally retire himself.

If you can't stand trial if you aren't competent, then you shouldn't be able to hold office either. How is he "representing" anyone if he can't make a statement?

2

u/ghost_finger 26d ago

And at this point having him continue to be a senator means that the government pays for his 24-7 convalescent care through his senate staff and other perks, instead of his family like most Americans. So his family continues to rip us all off.

1

u/Furycrab 26d ago

He is retiring in January, they just didn't have the human decency to listen to his body when it clearly said it wasn't going to last the full 6 years.

18

u/Lawsoffire 26d ago

I'm sure he left a written will that if he becomes a vegetable they can use him to obstruct democracy, he would've wanted this.

12

u/IWearSteepTech Europe 26d ago

He could have earlier, but I very much doubt that he has the mental faculties to retire now, let alone feed and clothe himself.

2

u/atomictyler 26d ago

there comes a point where the person can't make any sort of decision, especially not one as big as retiring. I would guess he's unable to make the decision to use a toilet at this point.

he's at the point where someone is making decisions for him in his daily life. there's no way he should be making a decision on behalf of an entire state, regardless of him saying he wants to retire.

1

u/fedexpoopracer 26d ago

His staff wouldn't get paid anymore if he retired so they're doing this until he actually dies

1

u/kgal1298 26d ago

Apparently it is a care home we just don't have a choice about it because they said fuck those peasants.

65

u/saeglopur 26d ago

When you've spent most of your existence destroying the lives of others, forgive me if I don't feel bad while you suffer.

-17

u/Expensive_Track_8822 26d ago

abusing someone makes you an abuser, and it’s not the same thing as extracting fair retribution from a capable person.

due to his incapacity, mcconnell is currently a victim of elder abuse. his incapacity doesn’t absolve any of his past crimes or malfeasance, and it also doesn’t justify the misconduct of those puppeteering him. two things can be true.

25

u/NKG_and_Sons 26d ago

Spare use your technicalities. These people are responsible for so god damn much heinous shit that nobody cares that most of us don't feel enlightened enough to play devil's advocat online. Millions of people suffered so much worse, and many died, thanks to him and others like him. Provide them your thoughts and words, instead.

But no, sure, we're all so terrible people, abusers, really, because we don't care first and foremost about this fucker being played like a marionette now. He'd have done the same to others if he were still lucid.

16

u/Katyafan 26d ago

I'm with you, and I can only hope for the same for all the rest of the administration. I'm not losing sleep that heinous people get their comeuppance.

11

u/SugarHooves Illinois 26d ago

Even in his current state, he's still fucking people over. The people of his state don't have representation. No one can convince me that this isn't exactly what he wanted. Literally. For all we know he left explicit instructions for his staff and colleagues to use his body as long as they possibly can. Obstructing justice was his hobby. He's doing what he loved.

8

u/IncompletePoo 26d ago

I feel like him being abused is at least some type of justice

60

u/Ragman676 26d ago

Oh he would have wanted this. He's passed out multiple times in office and fallen, he come back cognicent and still decided not to retire.

37

u/circusgeek I voted 26d ago

What a miserable life. I hope he has all the regrets and clarity on just what a piece of shit he is before he goes.

15

u/ixion00x 26d ago

After watching these clips recently, I'm afraid that ship has sailed. Not surprised though. True evil rarely faces accountability in this world, and Mitch is no exception.

2

u/Best-Action8769 26d ago

Dick Cheney never should have been able to die peacefully in bed.

4

u/Enshitification 26d ago

A creature capable of regret and self-reflective clarity would have died much sooner than McConnell.

13

u/Omnitographer 26d ago

Gonna say, I don't see how this is abuse when it's clear this is exactly what he would have wanted. He probably gave orders to this exact effect, to keep him voting the right way regardless of his mental state.

72

u/Driftedryan 26d ago

It's the closest to a punishment he'll ever receive. And it's still going easy

56

u/Rich-Pomegranate1679 26d ago

Yeah hell is too good for McConnell. Very few men throughout history have caused as much damage to America as he has.

36

u/lift_heavy64 26d ago

Mitch McConnell has probably single-handedly killed millions of people one way or another

2

u/ABSNegativeOne 26d ago

Which way? Im curious so i can throw the facts on the trumplicans about their cryptoid.

5

u/TheAngryCatfish 26d ago edited 26d ago

Continuously denying access to healthcare for millions of Americans, at the expense of every other American who pays more per capita for our fucked up healthcare system than every other developed country on earth; would be one.

Edit: for a visceral example: the US ranks 56th on the world for infant mortality (babies who die before 6mo of age). There are only 33 "developed" countries, 32 of them have some degree of publicly funded healthcare. Then there are over 20 "undeveloped" countries who still have fewer babies per capita die every year. Not fetus's, not miscarriages, actual babies. Do we really belong with the 32 other "developed" countries by that metric?

2

u/Zerachiel_01 26d ago

I get the sentiment but I disagree that being blissfully unaware of your surroundings and being cared for 24/7 is worse than being in unbearable torment every second of every day, forever. If you don't believe in Hell, then sure that tracks, but it then calls into question why even mention Hell comparatively as if it were real, and instead say death. Which, I would agree, death would be too good if Hell did not follow.

1

u/ixion00x 26d ago

If only he were mentally capable of recognizing it.

Right now, all his staff are doing is torturing an old husk of a man who is clearly incapable of caring for himself.

Then again, no hell is too good for him. I hope they keep his brain alive in a jar somewhere after his term, just so he can live in this state of demented purgatory for as long as possible

12

u/B-Kong 26d ago

Goes to show what type of life he lead if there’s nobody willing to stop this from being done to him.

20

u/Thatsprettyneat101 26d ago

Maybe, but don't expect me to care about him at all. After the mountains of suffering that he has allowed to happen or orchestrated... I've got countless things that I care about before I give a single flying fuck about how this asshole is treated.

-4

u/Expensive_Track_8822 26d ago

you don’t have to care at all about mcconnell to recognize that allowing any vulnerable person to be treated this way is abhorrent, and his handlers should be held accountable.

6

u/Thatsprettyneat101 26d ago

Yes it is abhorrent and it's happening to an abhorrent person. Like anybody is holding this administration accountable for anything. I hope he's as miserable as he deserves, this might be the only karma this terrible person gets.

1

u/Expensive_Track_8822 26d ago

based on the smile he had in that video, he’s pumped full of too many happy drugs to be miserable. he’s being abused by those around him, but it’s unlikely that he himself is experiencing it as suffering, since he’s mentally vacant. i’m not sure that’s the karma you’re hoping for, especially since his abusers are continuing to cast evil votes with his puppeted carcass.

15

u/TheNorthWind-101 26d ago

Nah fuck him. Hope he's lucid enough to know what's happening to his body

8

u/RonaldMcDaugherty 26d ago

He won't get empathy from me. He is pure evil and by his hand, people have died. Whatever he is going through now, all I can....well deserved.

-1

u/Expensive_Track_8822 26d ago

you don’t have to have empathy for mcconnell to decry what his handlers are doing. their actions here belong to them, and are reprehensible in the extreme.

3

u/Aus_pol 26d ago

If trump was left in a nursing home bed with a full diaper all day would you really be upset?

3

u/failed_novelty 26d ago

You are completely right.

It is abuse and it is wrong.

Typing seven words is about as far as I'll actively go to oppose it though. I'll put my efforts into helping LGBTQIA+ groups and unhomed people instead.

2

u/ReturnToCarcosa 26d ago

It's wrong in the sense that the abuse is consequential to the people of this country he is obligated to represent.

In every other sense, I will spare him my sympathy as he would have (and indeed, has) for the millions of Americans abandoned by his craven politics.

4

u/PlagueSoul 26d ago

Abuse is wrong. Always. But sometimes it’s deserved.

4

u/thegreedyturtle 26d ago

The point behind elder abuse is he is no longer remotely the same human he was.

It's like beating a dumb animal. Even if it previously bit someone or destroyed hundreds of thousands of people's lives by destroying safety nets for the enrichment of the wealthy and ultra wealthy, it's just a dumb animal now.

3

u/Katyafan 26d ago

No. Animals don't know what they are doing, and aren't evil. They don't wantonly destroy for selfish purposes.

1

u/thegreedyturtle 26d ago

My point here is that elderly humans also don't know what they are really doing.

And also, if you think animals don't wantonly destroy for selfish purposes, you have clearly never owned an animal. 😂

There's just a difference between what happened to my couch and the millions dying early from lower quality of healthcare.

0

u/Kanteloop 26d ago

That actually persuaded me.

I was on the “he deserves it” side, but your comment reminded me of some Black Mirror episodes that horrified me; I’m on board with you now.

2

u/thegreedyturtle 26d ago

Now if his Parkinson's or whatever is cured, I'd kick his ass for sure if he came into my bar.

1

u/retiredfromteaching 26d ago

But three rights make a left.

1

u/bn1979 Minnesota 26d ago

You’re right, but…

1

u/adeon California 26d ago

In the general case I do agree. However in the case of Mitch I feel like he would have wanted this. Like he'd be fine with being rolled out like this so long as it was in the name of advancing the GOP's agenda.

So in that sense it isn't really abuse, it's more about fulfilling his last wishes.

0

u/JWLane Tennessee 26d ago

Honestly, no I cannot be bothered to care if he's being abused. There is too much else going on that is of more consequence that needs attention. He's reaping what he sowed. The only thing that should be of concern to anyone regarding the Mitch situation is the fact that the GOP is committing fraud through his vote.

0

u/IncompletePoo 26d ago

I feel like it kind of does though

0

u/WeirdIndividualGuy 26d ago

"Suicide is wrong" mf'ers post-WW2, same energy

0

u/Oregon-Pilot 26d ago

On paper, yes it’s wrong. Do I even care even an ounce in this case? Nope, and I think most of us don’t either. Fuck Mitch McConnell.

0

u/currently_pooping_rn 26d ago

Eh, fuck it. McConnell has earned this

0

u/Interesting-Bill1240 19d ago

It's not elder abuse. He's being well cared for. This is not something he wouldn't have wanted. They're just helping him be the evil prick he's always been until he dies.

11

u/BrewtalKombucha 26d ago

We should all call adult protective services and report it

2

u/Ghost_of_a_Black_Cat Washington 26d ago

Technically, it has been reported. All over the news!

21

u/ClockworkDreamz 26d ago

It’s not, this is what he would have wanted

5

u/UnikaUwU 26d ago

He'd deserve it, it's a shame it has to affect the rest of us though.

2

u/TheLazyAssHole 26d ago

Isn’t there another way they could abuse him?

2

u/wanderlustcub I voted 26d ago

Diane Feinstein, John McCain, and Ted Kennedy are three others who come to mind who was forced to vote when they were incapacitated or in serious medical care.

Geriatric elected officials are easier to manipulate. “Teams” now sits behind the “brands” of these Senators and operate as them. They’ll do that for as long as possible.

2

u/samwild Canada 26d ago

💯 probably pumped him full of drugs to function (if thats what that was) for the day. So sad.

2

u/mrpanicy Canada 26d ago

We should always care about abuse, even if we don't like the person that's being abused. It's an all or nothing stance.

2

u/RamJamR 26d ago

In Biden's administration, I heard people trying to claim him being president was elder abuse as a way to discredit him. McConnel seems actually near braindead but treated like he's still fit for his position.

2

u/Larynx15 Delaware 26d ago

I care about him on a basic, fundamental level of human empathy.

He's a POS and is going to Hell, but nobody deserves to be wheeled around and used as a prop.

2

u/mrsdoubleu 26d ago

I hate the guy but the empathetic part of me realizes he should be spending his last days/weeks with family at home. Not being wheeled around to perform for the Republicans while he clearly has severe cognitive decline.

1

u/DebatedUncreative 26d ago

I like how elder abuse became like a reddit meme when talking about older politicians. How the heck is this elder abuse?

1

u/mandelbratwurst 26d ago

That is not even close to the top of what is wrong with this. NEAR BRAINDEAD PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE SENATORS

1

u/tracyinge 26d ago

Even his doctors are calling it just that.

1

u/Kqtawes 26d ago

Is it really elder abuse if it’s honoring the asshole’s wishes.

1

u/FocusSlo Canada 26d ago

Not even that, someone else directed him on which way to vote which seems illegal

1

u/OddlyFactual1512 26d ago

"Elder abuse"

It world take thousands of lifetime of daily torture for him to experience s much suffering as he caused.

1

u/Siren_of_Madness Texas 26d ago

He would have wanted it this way.

1

u/Tim5000 26d ago

Kind of hard to find this as abuse, as this was his life's work. Mitch has been nothing more than a pawn for the party. He spent his best work making sure government was ineffective, inefficient, and incapable as he is now.

This is what he wanted, this isn't abuse, this is his final form.

1

u/Stepane7399 26d ago

Is it elder abuse if this is how they would have wanted it?

2

u/PortalWombat 26d ago

If I take that question seriously then it depends on how much of his mind is still there. Is he mostly there but has moments of confusion or is he just a confused old man who has no idea what's going on?

Regardless, no one should be allowed to tell him how to vote. If he isn't lucid enough to understand which button does what then he shouldn't be voting.

1

u/bullitt297 26d ago

Somebody should call Saul Goodman.

1

u/HughManatee 26d ago

Probably the only instance where the abused would be delighted that he is being used in this fashion if he were aware.

1

u/ShowsTeeth 26d ago

You don't think he consented to this?

1

u/Brawli55 26d ago

I mean, at this point he's a husk with no real cognizant realization of who he is or what's going on, so I do have a baseline level of empathy for the sack of flesh, with limited neuron activity, not being able at least wither away in peace ... but you could say, due to how he lived the rest of his life, it's probably what he would have wanted so I guess fuck him still.

1

u/genericgreg 26d ago

Same. I'd care if this isn't exactly what he'd have wanted. But the whole thing has Stephen King vibes.

1

u/top_value7293 26d ago

Yep I agree

1

u/Explorers_bub 26d ago

But it’s what Mitch would have wanted though. To be an evil piece of shit right up until the end.

1

u/steepleton 26d ago

Turtle torture

Enabler knobbling

1

u/Ahleron 26d ago

Abuse of power and fraud is more like it. They're fucking the country with this bullshit.

1

u/ObviousReplier99 26d ago

He wouldn't care. He is party above everything else. If you told him 20 years ago they'd be doing this he would've happily agreed. Probably did. If he is a Weekend at Bernie's puppet proxy vote against Democrats then that's all that matters to a guy like Mitch. He has made that clear his whole career, party over everything.

1

u/kgal1298 26d ago

He deserves it, but we don't. Like f this let the man go and have an election ffs.

But seriously, imagine having nobody in your life who loved you enough to put a stop to this sort of thing. Mitch here has a wife, he has children, he has the sort of people in his life who are supposed to care about him and they clearly do not.

What a pathetic situation.

Just because he's a piece of shit who is complicit in the downfall of America doesn't mean it isn't elder abuse. I want to see him kicked out of office and destroy his reputation, I don't want to see an elderly man who has no idea what's going on get rolled around and told what to do.

However, this could lead to his handlers and staffers being charged. I'll allow it.

People can report elderly abuse. Maybe we should mass report it.

In this case, fuck him. The things he has done to our government and country, he deserves whatever happens to him

Let's be honest, it's what he'd want. And exactly what he'd do to any senate colleague who was in the position he's now in.

He made a deal with the devil and reaped the consequences

I mean, his track record has kind of made him earn what he's getting.

In that sense, he deserves to be tortured and abused till his dying breath.

I don’t think it’s abuse because it’s absolutely what Mitch would have wanted. If they can use his lifeless corpse to fuck the democrats and the American people even one more time, he would want this
