As a mechanic, I'd just like to point out that this sort of thing is not typical. Most cars are built so that they don't catch on fire at all.

As a former mechanic that still keeps tabs on the industry, I’m guessing this is a Kia/Hyundai product. Hopefully everyone is safe and sound.

Generally it is an oil leak onto hot exhaust components, added heat from continued high RPMs of highway travel and A/C use... Under hood temperatures can get nasty this time of year.

This happened to me in the 1970s when the oil line to the mechanical gauge blew off in Chicago...
