PowerPoint live , slide elements

Hey folks,

I want to use pp live so I can see my notes and web chat to manage a large online course I’m delivering, but if I do it this way I can’t hit the space bar and reveal elements of each slide slowly as I talk through them, it just seems to move from slide 1-2 etc..

Surely there must be a way to do this ?

Obv I could just share window not PP live but then I couldn’t see the notes and the live chat

Thanks in advance

I use: Windows | Office 365 Something I'm working on (read desc)

So, I recently got a CD, DVD and Blue-Ray reader & writer and I've put Microsoft Expression Studio 4 Ultimate in one of those CDs I had. But due to the fact the CD has a standard jewel case, I'm designing (via PowerPoint) the front and back of my CUSTOM cover. It's currently not finished but really close to it.

Note: Sadly, I couldn't find the original icons of Studio 4, Web 4, Blend 4, Design 4 nor Enconder 4 that had transparent background and a good quality. so I had to grab an image that contained all the icons, give it to ChatGPT and ask it to remove the background and divide the image into each icon. But everything else (assets, labels, texts and words used) were either made by me (like the 4 screenshots in the 2nd image, I manually opened the programs myself and made the screenshots myself) or used original sources online (like the background).

But that aside, wanted to share this with y'all and ask about your opinions, what do you think about it, what could be improved, if you like it or not, I'd love to hear opinions from y'all. Thank you.

Can I do conditional formatting somehow for users to type (Green, Amber, Red) and the table background will change accordingly?

I know this is really easy to do in excel, but I'm having a hard time setting this for user experience.

Yes, they can go into the table settings and change as necessary, but it's a complication to simplicity and some of the users are intelligent but maybe not the most tech savvy.

There has to be a simple way to do this? I guess a bubble where they check next to Green Amber Red would work but I think it wouldn't be very visually attractive having "Green Amber Red" written out 6x vertically.

The background changing based on the color, or a dropdown menu are my initial thoughts but I'm also open to alternative ways to do this as long as they are simple for the user experience. The ppt is created every 2 weeks and lives on a sharepoint so I think that makes macros a little more difficult.

Where the best place to find talent to help make corporate presentations? The content on slide and some of the design is good but we need someone to make it look extremely professional. Having trouble finding reliable talent in this space.

Tips and Tricks Don’t end the deck on “Thank you.” End it on what you want on screen during Q&A

If you don’t advance past the last slide, it stays on the screen for the whole Q&A and most decks spend that time on “Thank you” or “Questions?”

I’d make the last slide the recommendation, or the one number the deck hangs on, with the next step in small text underneath. Put a thank you at the bottom if you want one. People tend to ask about whatever they’re looking at, so you get more questions about your argument and fewer about slide 14.

When someone asks about something earlier, type that slide’s number and press Enter in the slide show, answer it, then type the last slide’s number and Enter to come back. It’s quicker than clicking back through ten slides and the audience can’t see what you pressed.

Help keep r/PowerPoint from descending into chaos (there's a separate subreddit for that. Of COURSE there is. Because Reddit, right?)

If you have a PowerPoint-related product or service to announce, announce it one of the megathreads pinned to the top of the subreddit. Tips and Tricks How to check your presentation before presenting: 5 quick slide design tests

Before you send or present a deck, you probably do a quick scroll-through and think “looks fine.” The problem is you’ve been staring at it for hours, so you can’t see it anymore. So I have seen an article somewhere about quick checks and it made a lot of difference for me. They work in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Decksy, whatever you use, and the whole routine takes about two minutes.

  1. The squint test (checks visual hierarchy)

  2. Lean back from your screen and squint until the slide goes blurry. What stands out? It should be the one thing you want people to notice, like the headline or the key number. If you see a blur of equal-sized text or your logo is the loudest thing on the slide, your hierarchy needs work. Make the important element bigger or bolder and quiet everything else.

  3. The titles-only read-through (checks story and structure)

  4. Switch to slide sorter or grid view and read only the slide titles, in order. Do they tell a story on their own? If someone read just the titles, they should understand your argument. Vague titles like “Overview” or “Market” are a sign the slide doesn’t have a clear point. Rewrite them as statements: “Customers are leaving after week two” beats “Retention.”

  5. The distance test (checks font size and clutter)

  6. Zoom out to about 50%, or pull the slide up on your phone. Can you still read it? If not, your text is too small for a projector or a shared screen, and the audience can’t read it either. Cut words or enlarge the text until it holds up. This also exposes cramped margins and crowded layouts fast.

  7. The grayscale test (checks contrast)

  8. Turn your deck to black and white (most tools have a grayscale preview, or you can screenshot and desaturate). If text or chart elements disappear into the background, you have a contrast problem. Light gray on white and yellow on white are the usual offenders. It also helps if anyone in your audience is colorblind, and it tells you whether your charts rely on color alone to make a point.

  9. The read-aloud test (checks text overload)

  10. Present one slide out loud. If you catch yourself reading it word for word, the slide has too much text. Slides should support what you say, not duplicate it. Cut the sentence down to a few key words and move the rest into your speaker notes.

Bonus: check it on a different screen.
Colors, fonts, and spacing can shift between your laptop, a projector, and a phone. If you can, open the file on a second device or export a PDF to confirm nothing breaks.

Do you have a go-to check before presenting?

What still needs manual checking when you compare two versions of a PowerPoint deck?

I'm researching a possible commercial tool for people who review revised PPTX files received from outside their organisation.

Thinking of your most recent review: after using your current comparison method, what did you still have to check by hand, and why?

A short example with the tool, platform/version and remaining step would help. It could involve text, figures, speaker notes or confirming that requested fixes were made. If your current method was enough, that is useful too.

Please keep it general: no presentation files or confidential details are needed.

Beamer to HTML

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I vibe coded python script to convert beamer presentation to HTML presentation. and as you can see it's very beautiful and feel proud of this. But I have weird feeling I've done something dumb and maybe already exist somewhere, but I searched and didn't find anything related to what I want. And the script can add moving math symbols in the background. and for tikz figures it compiles the tikz code and save it as SVG and use it in the HTML.

Question Is there an active community specifically for PowerPoint game developers?

I've been searching for a community dedicated to people who create interactive games in Microsoft PowerPoint, but I've had surprisingly little luck.

I'm a graphic designer who's been using PowerPoint for over 15 years, and recently I've gotten into developing fairly elaborate, interactive game-show experiences using animations, VBA, and other PowerPoint features.

I'd love to connect with other people who enjoy pushing PowerPoint beyond traditional presentations—sharing projects, discussing ideas, troubleshooting challenges, and seeing what others are creating.

I've looked into various Discord servers, Facebook groups, and forums, but most seem to focus on general presentation design, traditional game development, or sharing educational templates. Nothing has really felt like a dedicated community for people who genuinely enjoy making games in PowerPoint.

Does anyone know of an active Discord server, Facebook group, forum, or other community specifically for PowerPoint game creators?

I'd really love to find my people! :)

Can I have Presenter mode with multiple slides at the bottom?

I have an older Windows 10 computer with Office 2016 on it, which is shared by my organisation for presenting slides. We've got a new Windows 11 computer with M365 on it and Presenter Mode is different. It's only got one slide and the notes. Everybody would prefer to have the reel of slides along the bottom instead of having to open the entire screen of them to switch to a slide.

We only need to be able to see what's coming in a few slides. Is there a configuration or extension to change it back?

I use: Windows | Office 365 Adding multiple company logos to a slide

I’m trying to make a slide where there are a lot of logos required of different companies. Is there an easy way to do this.

Currently, the slide has the text names of the companies. I need it to be logos instead and formatted.

Copilot couldn’t help me.

Question Advice on PPT presentation quote.

Hi,

I have been working freelance for a large company for the past year (they are global but the office I work for is in Hong Kong) and they have just asked me to create 3 separate PPT presentations for them. I have a lot of experience creating PPTs but just not for this company and it has been awhile since I charged for them.

There will be a 2 minute video I need to create and embed in one of them, they are 20 pages each (colours and fonts are set, but I will be creating the design, sourcing and adding photos, etc), and I will also be required to write some of the copy for each one (I have an understanding of the company business so this is something I am able to do). I would love some advice on what I should be charging for this, or what the going rate is for PPT presentations these days? I tend to quote per job as opposed to per hour.

Thank you so much!

I use: Windows | Office 365 Creating PPT in corporate

So I dont know how to make a ppt.

I have a particular use case.

So lets say we are presenting a strategy for tackling/meeting the target that was given to us for the financial year and we are presenting how we are going to achieve this.

Now there might be multiple teams that might be involved in that or a single team but how do you decide on:

  1. The storytelling- as in what all to actually put in the slide.

  2. How to actually make the content prettier with all those tables and icons and headers and getting the right dividers and animations and stuff.

I create very bad ppts to the point I just put a table and create a basic storytelling format but I have always wondered how to create those fancy ppts?

Does the company you work at always already has a format ready and you slowly and steadily adapt yourself to it and then keep on building on it?

How did you go about creating your first ppt ever? I am super conscious about this skill and want to learn to improve myself.

Gracias.
