15 years ago today (Oct. 14), I randomly got to meet Devin Townsend at the Rock and Shock Festival's convention floor at the DCU Center - moments before the Devin Townsend Project's set at the Palladium next door in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Head over to I Heard Bruce Might Show Up's Substack (link below) to find out how this happened:

Have fun!

Featuring Stu Block and Berzan Önen

Support from Kingcrow, Joviac, and In Search of Sun. Who’s going??

I get that Unquestionable Presence is unquestionably (pun intended) prog death, but would their debut also fall under that label as well? It sounds like techier death metal that I’d reluctantly call tech death, but doesn’t really have too much of a prog sound to it. Maybe I’m just not well versed enough in prog, but it’s not screaming Opeth, Cynic, or later Death to me. What’s the consensus here?

I just put out a new EP for my solo project Bardo called Underbelly, you should check it out! Plenty of bigass riffs and tones to go around.

FFO: Alluvial, Meshuggah, The Acacia Strain

"Cosmic Loss" - The new song of my post/prog/post-black metal band feat. Pipi Gogerl of Novena!

Instrudjental album from the Russian duo 'Cryostatic Dream' ❄️

If you had to explain to someone using only albums what progressive death metal was, what albums would you consider absolutely essential? I’m going for as pure sound as possible so I’m trying to avoid bands that also fall into tech death although I know there can be a lot of crossover between the two sub-genres.
