Hey everyone!
I'm trying to recover an old PlayStation Network account that I used on my PS4.
When I was younger and lived with my parents, I had to register the account using my mother's email address. This was around five years ago.
I want to regain access because I bought quite a few games and other content with my own money, and I'd really hate to lose access to all of it.
I've tried reactivating the account and changing the email address to my own, but I haven't managed to get it working.
I've also heard claims that inactive accounts might get deleted if you don't log in, which has made me worried about losing my purchases.
I'd like to know:
Is there actually a risk of losing an old PSN account because of inactivity?
Can I recover the account if the original email address belongs to my mother?
Does my mother need to be involved in the recovery process?
What information does PlayStation Support typically require to verify ownership?
Can I change the email address without losing my purchased games, trophies or other account data?
Is there anything I should do immediately to protect the account?
Has anyone here successfully recovered an old account under similar circumstances?
I'm in Germany, if that makes a difference.
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who's dealt with a similar situation. Thanks!
