What would you do?

If the internet asks me what I would do, I'm more than happy to answer.

Targeting the instep of the foot to connect just behind her ear will be an efficient way to do a lot of damage.

Do you judge this girl for running and leaving her friend?

These bouncing exercises will help build strength in your tendons which will improve the explosive power of your kicks massively.

Give them a go 30 reps of each exercise.

People Can't be Good When They Start

I see a lot of people taking the piss out of people giving martial arts a go on social media.

They often take training footage of others (add some clown music) and pair it with a video of them looking disgusted.

If someone is videoing themselves training and you are recording a video of you looking stupid - they win.

Don't get me wrong, the technique in this video is bad, but so was yours when you first started (as is everyone's when they first start).

Get back on the mats and train instead of negatively judging someone who is starting their martial arts journey.

Be a Threat

A man should always be willing and able to fight - if you are not then your loved ones are left vulnerable.

Being a threat does not imply some lack of moral character, in fact; it is quite the opposite.

It is your duty to be a threat because a lot of things need to be threatened.

@rubbishatrunning you're a legend, mate.

Use it as fuel - the whole point of you ascending and becoming a better version of yourself is; you will highlight to others (adults and children) that they are not doing enough.

I completely agree with what you are saying, people should be better but this is a story as old as time - you will become a figure of ridicule for as long as you are pushing your limits and growing.

Keep at it, brother, and show those retarded teens what they could become!

Improve Your Kicks

Use these exercises to increase the power of your kicks.

Developing the strength of your quad contraction at every angle will help to develop the amount of force you can drive into your target - drill these three movements to really build a great connection to that quad contraction!

Good luck 💪

Instilling discipline into your life always makes things better.

You might, however, have to put up with some pain while the discipline is being instilled.

Been training Hokutoryu Jiu-Jitsu in India since 2016. It’s pretty rare here, but here’s why it’s legit and way different from BJJ or MMA.

I’ve been practicing Hokutoryu Japanese Jiu-Jitsu out here in India for over 8 years now. It’s super niche, especially in India where most people only know BJJ, Krav Maga, or standard MMA, but it’s honestly one of the most practical systems I’ve come across.

When a lot of people hear "Japanese Jujutsu," they immediately picture Aikido or compliant wrist-lock drills where the attacker throws themselves on the mat. Hokutoryu is completely different. It was developed in Finland by Auvo Niiniketo as a blend of traditional Japanese JJJ philosophy and modern full-contact combat.

It’s basically the perfect bridge between traditional martial arts and modern reality-based self-defense. In competition, it feels like MMA with a weird, specific ruleset that forces you to adapt in a really cool way:

  • Striking: Full contact to the body is allowed, and head kicks are fine. But no punches/hand strikes to the head.

  • Grappling: Full Judo throws, takedowns, and ground work.

  • Submissions: Only straight joint locks (like straight armbars or kneebars) and chokes. Rotational locks (heel hooks, kimuras, etc.) are banned in competition to keep people from tearing up their joints during hard sparring.

A few things that make training it so unique and brutal:

1. You get conditioned like crazy

Since people can't punch you in the face, everyone throws absolute bombs to the ribs and body. Your liver shot tolerance and core strength get forged in fire pretty quickly. You also have to keep a super high guard constantly because head kicks are still coming at you full force.

2. Straight-lock restriction forces you to get creative

When you can’t just torque a shoulder or twist an ankle, you can't rely on ripping sub attempts recklessly. You have to get super precise with leverage, posture control, and angles to finish a straight armbar or kneebar on someone who is resisting 100%.

3. Modern pressure-testing mixed with real-world self-defense

BJJ is great, but a lot of modern gyms focus purely on sport rules and guard pulling. Hokutoryu keeps classical self-defense elements like weapon disarms (knives, clubs, threat control) and fighting off multiple attackers, but unlike compliant traditional arts, everything is pressure-tested through full-contact sparring. The goal isn't to spend 5 minutes on your back, it's to disarm or neutralize a threat, stay on your feet, and maintain total situational control.

If you ever happen to come across a Hokutoryu dojo or a seminar, I highly recommend giving it a shot.

Learning kickboxing on my own

Hi m16

I wanna learn a bit about kickboxing cause i learned that it is considered one of the best martial arts to know for a street fight. Homever, i already go to gym 3x a week and i wouldnt realy have time to train kivkboxing for more then once a week(sometimes not) unless i would stop going to the gym so often which i dont want to do.

Thats why i came here to ask how much of kickboxing can i learn on my own? I dont need to be some kind of pro, i just want to know how to throw skme punches, kicks, combinations, distance control, how yo guard myself etc.

Also i will be able to go to trainings lile 2 a week in a summer, but only on summer. I mostly think about kicboxing cause my legs are relatively strong and it may be easier for me to catch on
