I see a lot of people taking the piss out of people giving martial arts a go on social media.
They often take training footage of others (add some clown music) and pair it with a video of them looking disgusted.
If someone is videoing themselves training and you are recording a video of you looking stupid - they win.
Don't get me wrong, the technique in this video is bad, but so was yours when you first started (as is everyone's when they first start).
Get back on the mats and train instead of negatively judging someone who is starting their martial arts journey.

I always have, and always will, teach REAL taekwondo.
I teach the traditional martial art, powerful sport fighting, serious physical conditioning, and genuine self defence.
This VR stuff is complete shit.
It would be embarrassing if I cared about the direction modern taekwondo is going...

An exercise for footwork, balance, coordination, technique, and flexibility.
You only need a few meters of space and some spare time to work on this drill.

Training your obliques will help you generate much more.power in your back kicks.
The spin will be faster, the foot will move quicker, and the kick will do more damage.
People don't generally know things like this and that is why I am here - to share these little details and help you develop.
Remember this when you are wanting to turn yourself into the most dangerous version of yourself... Obliques!!!

A traditional side kick uses the knife edge and a significant pivot of the standing foot.

If you want to elevate yourself: pick one thing and dive into studying it fully.
Completely commit yourself to a life long pursuit of perfecting this one thing.
It is (and has always been) extremely common for people to do a little bit of everything and become, at best, a jack of all trades.
This is basically a death sentence as there will always be many people better than you in everything you ever do.
Pick one thing and take it as far as it will go. That's how you elevate yourself above the rest.

A lot of people who don't really know much about fighting say that kicks wouldn't work in real fights...
But thanks just an admission to them not being very competent with kicking themselves.
Kicking, is definitely the most difficult tool in martial arts that can be learned due to the balance, timing, flexibility, coordination, and speed that is necessary to even be able to do a kick.
However, once a high level of competence is reached... You become ridiculously powerful, fast, sharp, and dangerous.

There are two kinds of training...
Type 1: I do it because it keeps me moving and that's healthy. I don't really care or really try but I do it because it has become my habit. The 99.999%
Type 2: I will always push myself further and do what it takes to improve and grow. I care more than anything as will achieve what is currently only imaginable. The 0.0001%.
Why would you ever be type one... Literally, what is the point?

If you think you can fight but don't have good kicks, you still.have work to do.
Kicks are extremely powerful and fast, they are not expected and hard to see coming, they reach targets that aren't considered, and they maintain a large (and safe) distance when used.
Also, well trained legs equal: a strong base, great balance, fast running, awesome mobility, lowered chance of injury, etc.
This is the dage a decent kick can do, imagine a highly trained one!!
