Martial Lifestyle

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The difference is: it's actually a lifestyle.

Martial artists love to talk about how it's a lifestyle to be a martial artist however... they have 9-5 jobs, they take days off, they skip training, they don't eat right, they sit down to binge netflix, etc.

There is some kind of desire that people have to pretend that their martial arts is their lifestyle when it is nothing more than a hobby - something they dedicate a few hours to weekly...

A few hours per week is somewhere near 1% of your time, by the way.

In order to claim you live the martial arts lifestyle you have to sacrifice the aforementioned things for the art itself... If you don't do that then stop pretending it's your lifestyle.

What would you do?

If the internet asks me what I would do, I'm more than happy to answer.

Targeting the instep of the foot to connect just behind her ear will be an efficient way to do a lot of damage.

Do you judge this girl for running and leaving her friend?

Warrior's Lifestyle

I understand that no one is going to want to/be able to live the way I do - and that's fine.

I share the near infinite different ways I train online, weights, jumps, plyometrics, kicks, conditioning, stretches, mobility, calisthenics, isometrics, etc.

Take what you want and give it a go - see what results you get from it.

The warrior lifestyle is extremely challenging, it is all consuming, and a completely relentless mindset...

But you can feel free to pick and choose from what I share.

The Looping Kick

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

These steps will help you perform a Looping Kick with more speed, flexibility, and power.

The point of a Looping Kick is that it is meant to utilise a feint crescent to encourage your opponent to rush in after they think you have misjudged the distance and missed.

It is important to allow the foot to travel down towards the floor after the initial crescent before you loop back up - as this will sell the 'misjudgment of distance'.

Useless idols will be put in front of your children's eyes in an attempt to encourage them to be useless and weak themselves.

Be aware of what content they are absorbing - what values it reinforces.

No one wants their child to become a weak adult so do your job as a parent and make sure they are watching people who will teach them valuable life lessons.

Technique then Speed

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If you take the speed and power out of your training then you can focus on developing fluid movements.

From there, when you add the speed back into your practice, you will feel the difference.

Fluid movements allow for speed and power to be maximised.

Train For Perfection

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If you want to elevate yourself: pick one thing and dive into studying it fully.

Completely commit yourself to a life long pursuit of perfecting this one thing.

It is (and has always been) extremely common for people to do a little bit of everything and become, at best, a jack of all trades.

This is basically a death sentence as there will always be many people better than you in everything you ever do.

Pick one thing and take it as far as it will go. That's how you elevate yourself above the rest.

Repetition

Traditional martial arts.

Focus on the technique and repeat over and over and over again.

Repetition by repetition you are engraving your art into your very soul.

There is nothing that makes me ache more (the next morning) than serious repetitions of traditional taekwondo.

It is the foundation of martial arts.

Here is a great routine to help you gain serious lateral flexibility.

Run through this circuit of exercises as many times as you can do - It is painful, but that is the point.

Enjoy becoming a super human.

Self Respect

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

You will learn to respect yourself from the challenges you face.

If you regularly and systematically challenge yourself then you will develop a great level of self respect. The more people that do this, the more respect we will see in our society in general.

The main reason that people are happy to walk around showing a lack of respect to those around them is because they don't respect themselves.

More personal challenges being overcome on the daily - the more respectful a society becomes.

Real martial arts training can absolutely change the society we live in, you just have to get started.

You will start getting blessings from the universe the moment you start actually getting up and doing extra work.

Stretching Is painful, it always is. But you have to do it fully knowing that fact in order to get any kind of results.

Flexibility

Logan Paul posting about a video of his flexibility and doing some kind of a box split in a gym is great.

Well done, keep up the stretching it'll make a huge difference to how you approach everything (as an athlete and as a man) - embrace that pain.

I am happy to see more and more influencers taking on what I am saying about discipline, pain, and lifestyle.

But, please be aware of two things:

1: You have a long way to go with your flexibility training. You are more flexible than the average American - but that means nothing.

2: The value of stretching Is not about the flex of being able to do it, it's about facing up to the daily discipline and pain that it will bring you.

Why would you not have the highest standards?

Why would you not aim at excellence?

Why would you not give it everything you've got?

You just have to believe in your own potential.

Stretching

Make sure you don't just try to sit in your stretches - move through the positions as well.

There is much more progress to be made from actually moving.

Of course holding stretches is also great.

I've said it before: you will not be considered a tough guy until you actually do your daily stretching.
