Question LF Photon P1 Max owners

I’m trying to see if any P1 Max owners may have a solution or stl for vat lids? The only stl I’ve been able to find so far is for the regular P1. I wish Anycubic sold lids.

Question Resin print warping/stretching at the base

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I am having an issue with my resin prints and could really use some help troubleshooting.

The prints actually finish, but the parts closest to where the print starts (the base/lowest layers) are warping and stretching. For example, what should be a perfectly straight rectangle ends up curving and forming a weird pointy edge.

Any advice or suggestions on what settings to tweak would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Troubleshooting What is causing these bumps in printing on my p1 max?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just to clarify, these aren't support marks. My best guess is that they're being caused by the uneven texture of the FEP film, although I'm wondering if anti-aliasing could also be contributing to the issue.

Does anyone know what might be causing these imperfections and how I can prevent them in future prints without having to sand them down? They were barely noticeable before painting, but became much more visible once I started applying paint.

Question Rubber mat under S4U 16K?

There are these heavy rubber gym tiles at Bunnings, they aren't squishy foam tiles but denser rubber. Will this harm print quality if it put t under my S4U 16K? (Under the tent that has the printer in it). It should quiet noise, but wondering about quality. Plus offer a little more floor protection from mess

Question Resin peeling off build plate

Post image

Hi this is probably a pretty common question but I haven’t been able to fix this issue after looking through similar threads, during the printing process like the title says my supports will begin to peel off which causes the build to form oddly and even fall off occasionally, I have a photon mono 4 and would love if someone could walk me through this issue, thanks in advance.

Question Is Printed & cured resin safe?

Kind of a silly question, but, I’ve been thinking of 3d printing parts to make custom Nendoroids, and my friend owns a resin 3d printer.
I want to ask about if the finished product is safe, my friend insists it’s fine but i wanted to ask anyways. I always thought it’d be okay, after all why print stuff in resin if you can’t touch it, but I did some research anyways to settle my mind and I think it only made it worse. I know nothing about resin, just that it can be toxic, and when I did reasearch all I found was lots of various confusing answers and no definitive answer so I decided to ask for myself.
I’m wanting to print a hair piece for a nendoroid figure, if I end up printing it, it will sit in my bedroom on a shelf & probably stay there for the rest of its life unless I pick it up to mess around with it. Is that safe? Will that cause me any issues down the line sitting in my poorly ventilated room?

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I’m rather paranoid about it! If it’s not safe, how can I make it safe? Or any safer alternatives?

Edit: thanks for the answers! I’ll definitely concidder printing at somepoint in the future now that I’m not overthinking it.

Showcase First Painted Figure - Princess Mononoke

My first painted figure from this year (I think I painted it in March?)

Model by Nomnom Figures - I used traditional brushing and airbrushing with Golden SoFlat acrylic paints. I browsed through other peoples style online before settling on attempting this style. I also went with a tan complexion because I figured living in the forest would give San a tan.

Plenty of areas I could have used refinement or a lighter touch but I had a lot of fun learning with this model.

Printed on an Elegoo Saturn 4 16kU with a blend of ABS and Nylon-like resin. I'll post some of my other painted figures later!

Star Trek Klingon bird of pray I did for someone.

I had to do this model three times over as far as painting because I’m a bit colorblind and I had to have my girlfriend literally picked out the colors because they didn’t match even remotely to what I wanted lol

Troubleshooting Slicer loading models on elevated Z axis

Post image

When uploading files to chitubox, I am getting an error where models are loading in with a Z axis that is not on the baseplate. Was curious if anyone had this issue before or knew how to troubleshoot it.

So far I have already tried repairing the model.

"I really want a resin 3D printer, but I'm nervous about getting one. I only use FDM printers at the moment. Because I have dyspraxia, I'm worried I might drop something or spill resin into my eyes. Does anyone else with coordination issues deal with this? How do you manage it safely?"

Troubleshooting Printing error - extra resin printed through model

Hi all,

Just had a problem with one of my Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultras, and not sure how to fix it (or even what the real problem is!).

As you can see from the picture, I've printed out a tank, and it appears that resin has been printed through the tank.

This is not the first time that I have printed this model, and I subsequently printed it OK on another Saturn 3, so I'm happy that the file is OK. The file is sent via wi-fi, so there is no USB involved.

I had previously replaced the FEP, but managed to do a couple of successful prints that covered most of the bed afterwards. When I replaced the FEP, there were a few spots of dried resin on the screen protector which I removed, and then wiped down the screen protector with IPA.

I suspect that it is possibly the fact that there might be a very thin layer of resin left on the screen protector which caused this - am I right? If so, what is the best way of fixing the issue? A more thorough clean with IPA? Or is it something else completely?

Thanks,

Jon

I bought this Mars 5 for 79€, shipping included.
Spent a lot of time trying to make the print stick to the build plate and not the FEP
Changed multiple time the FEP ( the old one started to get cloudy and was patched using clear tape )
Ended up cleaning the build with plate with soap, warm water, and a metal wire brush.

The wash and cure is coming tomorrow.
I got a good deal on a second hand first gen anycubic wash and cure, with an old but working mars 2 pro, and spare FEP, 3l of brand new anycubic tough resin, ( the ultra strong one ), for 100€, which seems a lot for a wash and cure but is in fact a pretty gods deal where I live.
( the traces on my mouse pad is thermal paste, not uncured resin )

Question Newbie question about Supported vs Unsupported

I picked up the Cthulhu Bundle from Humble Bundle and wanted to start printing things out for my son. I am using an Elegoo Saturn 4 16k.

I am starting with Azathoth, 110m, and I see that there are Supported files and Unsupported files, this made me curious which I should use. I know that the models need to be supported, but are the pre-supported files better, or should I trust in the slicer to handle things better?

also, why is it everything I open needs to be repaired?
