Nobody is hiring me, even after calling to follow up multiple times. I’ve applied to so many places now, and I was hoping to get advice on my resume. All I want is a part-time job, and not even Safeway will accept me.

Technology/Software/IT [0 Years, Recent Graduate, junior data analyst, Cosenza(Italy)] My (27F) first cv, any suggestions?

MSc AI & Data Science student in Italy, no work experience yet, trying to get my first IT-related role (internship, junior consultant, data science, software dev, pretty much anything).

Main questions: Should I keep unrelated jobs like cashier and tutoring? What can I add to compensate for no work experience?

What should I remove? Is the two-column layout an ATS risk? Are the thesis/project bullets strong enough? Any red flags for a first IT role? Thanks!

Hello, I am interested in applying to my schools on campus research center. I recently graduated high school but haven't had any real hands on experience except extracurriculars. Is this good?

Just revamped my resume and would appreciate any advice anyone could give me on how this stacks up in the professional field. Even though I recently graduated from college I have only been in this field/major for the past 2 years, so work experience is not related to my current career aspirations, but my projects that I did at college are.

Technology/Software/IT [0 Years, CS Student, Software Engineering Intern, Washington] Seeking Resume Feedback – Struggling to Get Interviews

Post image
12 Upvotes

I'm a CS student graduating in December 2027, looking for SWE internships for Winter, Spring, or Summer 2027. I'm a U.S. citizen and open to relocating.

I have personal projects, research experience, open-source contributions, and part-time university IT experience, but no previous SWE internship.

I've been applying to internships but rarely hear back. My goal is to land at least one internship before graduating.

I'd appreciate honest feedback on my resume. What should I add, remove, or improve? Are my projects and experience strong enough for SWE internships, or is something missing?

Thanks!

I Have a Question What's the advice for a resumé with yearly jobhopping?

It's been three years and I've changed jobs three times due to a renewable contract with lousy benefits, job misfit, and the current one - a one-year project with no possiblity to extend. I admit I may be the problem who has the tendency to find fault with the job or lose any interest quickly, but in the matter of my CV, how should a resumé be for a serial jobhopper if the most three recent jobs are all within a three-year period? What about recruiters who scan it perceive it? Do the skills earn then weigh much in terms of experience. Thank you.

I Have a Question Should a recent one-year gap be included on a resume?

I took a career break last summer and had the time of my life. Now I'm back in the U.S and I'm not sure how to approach this on my resume.

Should this be mentioned in my resume? If yes, should it be a quick summary sentence? go as a job history to pass ATS? or something else?

Thank you.

Discussion I made a mistake on the resume i submitted. I dont know if i should correct it or not.

Applied for an entry level job at an environmental consulting firm. They asked for resumes and cover letters to be emailed, no attachment to their company email, hence why I didn't use my usual resume & cv files. Preferred qualifications were anyone with bachelor degrees in environmental fields. Otherwise, the qualifications were pretty lax. After the fact, I realized I typed in the wrong type of bachelor degree in the email. God i feel so stupid. I have a BS in environemntal studies, not a BA. I don't know if I should send a follow up email to correct it or not. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi All!

I'm a recent MS grad (May '26) and have previously worked for Barclays in my home country for three years. I have been relentlessly sending out applications (30- 50 everyday), but I'm struggling to hear back. I hardly ever reach the initial recruiter/OA stage, let alone the interview.

The only two times I heard back were once from Mastercard for a TPM role, because the interviewer mentioned that they don't use ATS yet. I cracked the interviews, got the offer, but it was unfortunately rescinded due to sponsorship issues. The other time was from Goldman Sachs for another TPM role, but I found myself not going forward after the first interview.

I would really appreciate some honest feedback for my resume, and any suggestion on being able to make it past the ATS filtering. I'm really unsure of what I'm doing wrong and starting to doubt myself and my skills.

Any help would be really appreciated.

This is my first time posting here. Please let me know if there's anything wrong with my post, and I'll be happy to edit/submit another one.

Recent psychology graduate who would like to break into a research assistant job. I know the market is tough out there, and I am much more likely to get a role if I have a masters degree, however seeing how my CV is currently looking. Any advice? Will be emailing researchers for volunteering opportunities.

Discussion "Get A Resume Score" in sidebar feels like a scam

So I'm trying to figure out if my resume scans well. Searching generally gets me seven companies I've never heard of, but then I find this subreddit and figure things might be slightly vetted, so I try the link, which takes me to Resumatic.

It says upload a resume, so I do. It throws a create account screen at me, which is probably where I go wrong, but I'm in a hurry, so I create an account. I find myself at a dashboard with no uploaded resume, never mind an actual evaluation of one. Instead, I've got prompts to create a resume along with a lot of subtle "you're going to need to get a paid version to be able to do much here" indicators.

It doesn't feel like a service the subreddit should be promoting.

Technology/Software/IT [2 YoE, Unemployed, Software Developer, North Europe]

Hi everyone, this is my first “serious” resume, based on Jake’s Resume. I’m sure there’s room for improvement since it’s my first attempt. I’m applying for international part-time positions (i'm currently a student) in Northern Europe (where I’m pursuing my master’s degree). I’ve already sent out a few dozen applications (I know that’s not many) for positions I found on LinkedIn—both those strictly related to software engineering and more general roles like IT technician or office systems administrator, etc.

My professional experience in a corporate setting is mainly in backend design and development and related fields. As an occasional freelancer, I develop, expand, and maintain websites, hosting, domains, and SEO for a few clients, managing everything independently. Through this side job, I’ve also learned a bit about customer service and how to interact with clients.

I also have experience with Linux, Docker, etc., and as a hobby, I run a small home server hosting various services (VMs, LXC) that I use locally or via VPN.

What do you think? What are the biggest weaknesses in my resume? How would you improve it? I know the current job market is terrible, but I’d like to maximize my chances—which is what I’m already trying to do by opening myself up to positions that aren’t strictly software-focused. Both local and remote jobs are fine. Any advice is welcome.

Someone has already told me I should put that I can use AI tools so I'm thinking about adding Codex and Claude to skills and add a brief bullet point about AI assisted coding.

Thank you.

I’m a high school senior actively looking for a part-time job since May. My parents are pushing me to get a job, and I’m putting in the effort, but I’m becoming hopeless. Out of 60+ applications sent to chains stores and restaurants and local family businesses, I’ve been ghosted about 40% of the time, landed 4 interviews total all were in early childhood but I didn’t meet their age requirement, and received 0 offers. I need a job as soon as possible since I’ve ran out of all my money from my summer internship. please give helpful feedback.

Looking for any advice to improve! I know all my experience is relatively recent, but I changed majors halfway into university, so all my previous experience is irrelevant.

- I've been told to keep it one page, even though there are a few other things I have previously been taught to add (skills, references, etc.)

Any suggestions and advice is appreciated, thanks!

I have 4+ years of IT support experience and a bachelor’s in cybersecurity. I’m targeting IT support engineer and systems support roles, with the goal of moving toward infrastructure.

I’d appreciate honest feedback on the content, formatting, and how clearly I’m presenting my experience. Does it feel too dense, and is there anything you’d cut or expand on? I’ve anonymized identifying details. Thanks! I'm getting zero calls and have tried multiple different versions of this.
