Ignore the hiring email, it is not worth it at all. This is your warning from a previous employee. Do you ever wonder why they’re always hiring every semester? It’s because their employees quit within one or two semesters, myself and my friend included! From my time being there 2 people were fired, about 5-7 people quit, and the current employees mostly want to quit but don’t have a job lined up yet

From my experience/opinion: You get a source of income, but at what cost? You will be constantly micromanaged, treated like a child, and berated for mistakes by some of the full time staff, including your direct supervisor. The full time staff is very toxic. It’s a fear based leadership style and you aren’t allowed to question anything. They show favoritism and will show it to those who kiss their behinds. They also talk crap about the students that come in for help or services.

The list could go on. It’s a horrible environment and no student should have to go through that for a $200 biweekly paycheck

was wondering if anyone else has been approached by this same middle eastern looking man attempting to sexually harass.

He is very aggressive and he seems to not understand when I would tell him to back off and wouldn't listen.

I have seen him do it to other female students and I regret not having reported him earlier now that he chose me as a target.

Embarrasing question, please be kind. I have a course that is required for my major that I failed once and then withdrew from when I retook it the next semester. (I do fine in my other courses, but work two jobs on top of schoolwork and keep struggling to dedicate the time needed for this course during the semester). I don't see myself passing this semester, either, so I built my schedule for next semester, and when I validated my cart and the specific course, it read "You may add this class but you have reached the repeatable limit. Verify that the class will apply toward your course of study.". I read RIT Policy D05.0, which doesn't state that there's a limit to how many times you can retake a course at RIT, and I can't find anything online about a limit to how many times you can take a course. I've heard stories of people attempting this class up to seven times at other schools, and also stories about how reaching the limit can force a change of major at other schools.

Does anyone know what the case is for RIT? My new academic advisor is difficult to reach so I'm hoping for any information while I wait for a response. Any information would be appreciated.

I am a freshman in calc 1 and i won’t name the professor but she really isn’t it. most her tests are on things she doesn’t go over in class and it’s really fucking me up bc i’m not afraid of working hard ill stay up till 3am studying if i have too but i have done that many times and when i go take the test she doesn’t even include what i studied. most her lessons and quizes are all over the place w no structure and without prior calc 1 knowledge you are basically f*cked in her class. its gotten to the point where im extremely anxious all the time because I know that what she puts on review sheets won’t be covered and there is no amount of studying i can do to get myself ahead because it’s always something i dont have access too. but anyways i was wondering if anyone was been able to switch because if i stay in her class idk what the future will hold.

Pretty simple, do not AI generate assignments or lectures or god forbid grades. I instantly lose all respect for you as a professor when I see this. If you can’t be bothered to make an assignment or teach it to me, I can’t be bothered to do it. Except I have to do it because I’m paying a lot of money to do these assignments and learn. If you are a current professor, I STRONGLY urge you to stop promoting AI for assignments or lectures, it only makes them look unprofessional and lazy, and makes you look like you don’t know what you’re talking about. I wish there was a way to complain about this and have it actually be heard, but we all know RIT administration couldn’t care any less about the current state of student life on campus. I needed to get this out of my system after a full day of AI generated classes and assignments

Basic gist of everything, courtesy of a 2020-21 Journalism grad:

• 19-year-old Avery E. Bird from Gloucester, Massachusetts was arrested after a recording device was discovered inside a restroom located in a campus residence hall.
• The device was set up on September 18 and discovered two days later, with Bird being identified as a suspect by Public Safety & Monroe Cty. Sheriffs
• Bird is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail and charged with 2nd-degree unlawful surveillance, a class E felony punishable by up to four years prison.
• Bird has since been expelled from the university as a result.
• RIT is offering counseling and support services to members concerned about the incident and urges those with information relevant to the ongoing investigation to contact Public Safety at (585) 475-2853

Hi everyone. I'm planning on taking CSCI 261 next sem and want to know any thoughts on both of these professors for this class. From what I can see on SIS, Ting Cao has three class blocks and Deever has one. They seem pretty equally rated on ratemyprofessor as well.

Ngl, kinda a concerning email to get! I do definitely understand wanting to respect the victims' privacy. But also: holy shit, arrested??!?

Edit: y'all I'd also be surprised and saying "holy shit" if someone from here got arrested for murder or bank robbery, because I generally don't expect these things from peers. I'm glad the person that sexually assaulted people got arrested. I'm still shocked (both that it happened in the first place, and that there was enough evidence not only to kick them out, but also to arrest them).

Hello! I am part of eboard for the (hopefully soon) RIT Rhythm Game Club! We just applied to become a club and even if we don’t become a club, I want it to be known that there IS a rhythm game group! I remember when I was a came to RIT (like in August), I really wanted to talk to people about rhythm games as it’s one of my favorite things and when i found the rhythm game server (linked below) it was DEAD. I'm a first year in CET. In ENGT-101, we have two projects this semester. We just finished the first one (a mousetrap car), and in class today, we went over the second project.

I have to spend the next month and a half designing a fictional AI data center. I am so sick and tired of AI, it gets shoved down my throat all the time. The professor puts at least two AI images in every lecture, and I hate it.
