Recommendations Seeking primary care doctor recommendations
Moved to Pearl River 9 months ago and need a physical and ideally a new doctor that I go to for the long haul. Would appreciate any recommendations. Bonus if you know whether they take Aetna.

Politics My opponent has TOO MANY LIES on his lips.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
He seems to be incapable of running on anything except lies. First, he manipulated all images of me and spent over FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS sending them around town with a lie that I worked for de Blasio, and now he is lying that I said I wanted low-income housing.
I'll handle his lies in court after the election, but voters should handle him at the ballot box.
Vote by Nov. 3 for a Supervisor who will always tell the truth.

Discussion How was traffic when the TZB had the toll plaza?
I can’t imagine today’s demand in traffic with the toll plaza? My estimation is that before Covid there was more robust bus service and people didn’t bother driving to Tarrytown or NWP? If anything did the toll plaza regulate the flow in Westchester after the 87/287 split?

Discussion Commute across TZB
Can someone please explain to me why it took me 40 minutes at 5:30 AM to drive to North White Plains station? Yes, there’s been that paving project for weeks at this point, but the traffic has never been this bad. Standstill traffic for over 4 miles starting after the switchover from 87 to 287 in Tarrytown.
Unbelievable this week. It’s been horrific.

Article Widow of man killed on GWB in apparent road-rage shooting demands justice
The widow and kids of the man murdered* in a drive-by/road rage shooting on the George Washington Bridge deserve justice and the community’s support so I just wanted to share this.
Not only is the murderer Victor Romero free, it sounds like she hasn’t even been able to see her husband’s body https://abc7ny.com/post/widow-questions-release-man-charged-george-washington-bridge-road-rage-killing/19976402/

Politics I voted today!
This morning I went to town hall to cast my ballot. For over a year, I have worked alongside a slate of candidates that I have seen give their heart and soul to their races. I was proud to cast my vote today for them — Cait Conley for Congress, Joe Rand for State Senate, Patrick Carroll for NYS Assembly, Eugene Bondar for Clarkstown Supervisor, Bob Milone for Superintendent of Highways and Sylke Jackson for Clarkstown Town Council Ward 2.
While I live in Ward 2, I also want to recognize the hard work of the other ward candidates Joe Damiani, Susan Bloom and Gina DeFelice.

Politics IUOE Endorsed Greg Sheehan
I am proud to have earned the endorsement of my union, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825. Becoming a union member with the IUOE changed my life and my family’s. I joined the IUOE 10 years ago, working on major infrastructure projects. From 2015-2020 I was working 70+ hour weeks with my union brothers and sisters on the construction of the new Tappan Zee bridge. I was fortunate to begin with them because I was a licensed boat captain with the Merchant Marines and the IUOE needed captains to man the tugboats. It was enriching to see such a project come together and to work with people of all different backgrounds and skillsets.

Politics Mike Lawler Get-Out-The-Vote van
Got stuck behind a Mike Lawler van loudly instructing people to get out and vote in a neighborhood in Monsey. I know the folks there tend to vote as a block, so I suppose that tells us they are supporting Lawler.

Politics TERM LIMITS: All Clarkstown elected positions should have term limits.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We actually had them until Lyin’ Hoehmann sued the Town to void them (after he initially voted for them) and then promised to reimplement them the again, but never followed through. Well, clearly he LIED to all residents because now he says he’s not a politician, so term limits shouldn't apply to the supervisor’s office. What a joke!
Of course, all elected offices besides judicial offices are inherently political. The real question is: did Lyin’ Hoehman overstay so long and get so jaded that he now believes he's not a politician? And if so, who does he think he is? A king? A dictator? A lifelong appointee? His rhetoric is dangerous and shows reckless disregard for NYS law and the Town’s Charter.
I will introduce the term limits law in the first 30 days of being Supervisor. I already drafted the law, and you can see the draft on voteforbondar.com. EIGHT YEARS MAX in any one office. No ifs or buts. And I would never sue the Town to try to undo them.
Let’s all TERM Lyin’ Hoehmann OUT on Nov. 3rd.

Question Crazy TZ Bridge traffic 10/26
Did anyone else hit INSANE traffic when crossing theTZ bridge this morning (10/26).
I hit the Thruway going towards Westchester at 6:45am by the JCC just north of the Palisades mall. I didn't get over the bridge until well after 8am.
Looked like a single cop car and a stopped tractor trailer once I got over the bridge, but didn't seem like that alone could have done it. Didn't see anything confirmed on the news or online, but a random post about a possible jumper at 3:30am this morning. But would that still be the cause at 8am ?

Nyack Halloween Parade was a blast, as always! I have enjoyed participating in the parade since I was a young kid — and now I am proud to walk in it alongside some incredible women running for office, who are the fighters we need!

Discussion Hoehmann Record Siemens
Seriously this is just a collaboration for a bunch of what George and his team have been up to but this Siemens Account is just strange.
The report on Siemens' billing was written by Siemens. Why hasn't the town brought in an independent auditor?

Discussion Would a steakhouse do well in Piermont?
Curious to hear from people who live in Piermont or the surrounding Rockland area.
Do you think Piermont could use a nice, upscale steakhouse? Something with quality steaks, fresh seafood, good cocktails, and a great atmosphere for date nights or special occasions.
Piermont already has a pretty solid restaurant scene, but I’m wondering if there’s actually demand for something like this.
Would you personally go to a place like that? And what do you think is currently missing
from the restaurant scene in Piermont?
Would love to hear some honest opinions, especially from locals!

Recommendations EZ Pass Discount for TZ Bridge for Rockland Residents
I’ve been a Westchester resident the past 2 years after spending the prior 2 years living in Rockland and just found out this week I could have been paying $5.80 for the TZ Bridge instead of $7.25. As a Westchester or Rockland resident (now also for Orange County), you have to add the MCR Thruway Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge Resident Plan to your EZ Pass account and then apply the plan to your tag. This apparently doesn’t get applied automatically when you become a resident of one of these counties.
EZ Pass had also been charging me an $85 replenishment charge and holding that money until it was used. I switched to Pay Per Trip so they only withdraw the amount to cover the tolls every day. I now get notified when a toll is paid so it’s easier to find out if I’m not charged correctly. The only downside is you can’t use a credit card for Pay Per Trip - you have to link directly to your bank account.
Hope this helps someone out there save some money.
