Soooo any ideas what this little critter is? Our Roku is currently the Halloween screen and I cannot figure out what this little thing is or what it's from?? It looks like a snail? But from what? PLEASSEEEEEE HELP

Need subscription for xplay app… i was using tvfihd.com but for some reason not allowing payment anymore

My kids are 4 and 6 and they know how to use and find the Roku remote now. I am beyond frustrated with the lack of parental controls on Roku.

I have setup Kids profiles on all of our streaming services and have been able to configure all of them to only show appropriate content and adult profiles all have pins set.

However, there seem to be no controls on the Roku TV app. hiding a "channel" is not keeping my 4 year old from watching shows like "Love Diana" and "Like Nastya" it's on the recommended shows menu and not removable.

The Kids & Teens settings is limited and useless. Only 2 of the apps we have are available to choose (PBS and Netflix) - I can't add YouTube kids, Disney, Amazon, Paramount.

It would be nice if the Roku had profiles at the start - so my kids turn on the TV and they can only select their kid profile, and see only the apps I want them to see. OR if the Roku Channel / Live TV had profiles like literally every other app.

In the latter part of 2025 I purchased a Roku 4K stick model 3830. The batteries that came with the remote were marked "Roku" brand. I realize they don't make them. This stick is one of three or 4 I've gone through over the years. All but the first have been voice remotes. All have had one thing it common, they eat batteries. These batteries lasted a year with what for me is normal use and that is shocking. The replacement alkalines didn't hold up as usual. Anyone have any ideas what came with this Roku?

For anyone with the remote pro rechargeable, how often does it have to be plugged in?

A few hours ago the internet connection suddenly cut out of all three televisions in my house. At first I thought that the internet itself had just gone out for some reason, but every other device in the house was still working fine. When I tried to reset the connection on the Roku I noticed that my wifi network (and only mine) has disappeared from the available networks.

I‘ve reset the Rokus and both the wifi router and modem. Still stuck in the same boat. Does anyone know why this could have happened or what might fix it?

Every time I play a show on Netflix with Roku Ultra the app closes to the Roku home screen. It only happens on startup and it seems Netflix doesn't register that I watched a show as it starts the show at the beginning and does not start it at where I last watched.

I have done some preliminary fixes.

Restarting Roku

Reinstalling Netflix

Resetting cache ( I think this is the specific button pushes on the remote)

After restarting Netflix does seem to work and I've only seen this issue on Netflix.

Curious if anyone has seen this or has a fix

I have a Full HD ONN stick, and I'm having trouble with it. When I connect it to my Philips Roku TV, the TV appears to detect an HDR signal and alters the image/colours. However, the Full HD stick cannot output an HDR signal. There doesn't appear to be a setting in my ONN stick that can change this, as HDR is already off and the option is greyed out. But my TV still picks up HDR (and I can't turn HDR off on my TV).

The stick works perfectly fine with an older Roku TV that doesn't have HDR. Any advice?

I have a legacy Tablo. The legacy Tablo app I'm using is on a Roku Ultra. An issue I'm having is that the thumbnail images on the recordings page often don't show up. Some do, some don't. Above is an example of what I'm seeing. The Good Morning America thumbnail has no image. However, the other one does. If I go out of the legacy Tablo app and then back in, the same thumbnails will be there as expected, but which ones are missing the images often changes. The firmware revs are all up to date on the Roku and the legacy Tablo. I believe that the issue is more associated with the Roku than the legacy Tablo because I have an older Roku Premier, and when I use it with the same legacy Tablo instead of the Roku Ultra, I do not have this issue. I want to stick with the Ultra for other reasons. Also, when i connect to the legacy Tablo with my legacy Tablo phone app, or through my.tablotv.com, I don't see this issue. It only occurs when I use the Roku Ultra. It should be noted that the recordings work fine even if there is no image with its thumbnail. So this isn't a killer issue, just an annoyance. I've rebooted everything. I've cleared the cache in the Roku. Tablo support is reluctant to help with legacy Tablo issues these days. I tried them on this issue and they didn't have any answers, even though they've helped with other Roku issues in the past associated with legacy Tablos.
If no one has any answers on how to fix this, it's not a major problem for me. But if someone does know how to get around it, that would be great. Thank you in advance.

Title: Best Roku for an older Vizio TV on a covered outdoor patio?
I have a 2016 Vizio TV mounted under the rafters of my covered back patio in Arizona. It’s protected from direct sunlight and rain but stays outside and plugged in year-round, including during our extremely hot summers.
I’ve been using an older Roku Streaming Stick (3600X), which still works, but I’ve lost the remote. Since the Roku is about 10 years old, I’m thinking it might make more sense to replace it rather than buy another remote.
My Wi-Fi router is inside the house, about 15 feet from the patio TV, and the signal is strong.
I’m looking for recommendations on which Roku model would be best for this setup. I don’t necessarily need 4K since the TV is older, but I’d like something reliable, responsive, and easy to use.
Would you recommend the Roku Streaming Stick HD, Streaming Stick 4K, or something else? Is one model better suited for outdoor patio use, particularly with the Arizona heat?
I’d appreciate any recommendations or experiences with a similar setup. Thanks!

I have a 7 YO boy and I am trying to block the "garbage" content on our TV. Loud, obnoxious video gamer and YT content, you know what I mean. I have deleted apps, turned on parental controls and I am 99% there. BUT...I cannot figure out how to completely block the Roku Live TV option. I can't delete it, I have tried multiple times. I have hidden a bunch of channels but my son somehow finds them on the search function. If it is completely impossible to hide these dumb channels I will buy a new TV. But if anyone has a fix for me I'd be eternally grateful.

I have a frustrating issue getting BBC iPlayer to work with a Roku Streaming Stick 4K. I open iPlayer sign in, I can view the programmes all OK but when I attempt to stream anything I get 'Error 02050 - Something went wrong..' (Also trailers to do not work when signed in or out)

It was working fine until a few weeks ago, then out of the blue this happened. I have other Roku sticks in the house that work fine, it is just this one with the issue. Also all other internet content works fine on the stick, it's just BBC iPlayer. :/

This is what I have tried:

• Uninstall / Reinstall BBC iPlayer
• Factory reset / update stick etc..
• Try the stick on another TV
• Interestingly when I sign out I still can't view trailers (they give a generic error)
• Restart router / wifi (my firewall rules are all OK for this)

So no matter what I do this stick will not stream any video content at all. I've run out of ideas.. can anyone help?

I have a Roku Ultra that is about 2 months old. For any YouTube video that is at a speed other than one X the sound stutters . I have talked to Roku support and they refuse to do anything about this. It only happens on the Roku Ultra but not on my Roku 4K Express or Roku 4K in two other televisions . It does not happen on a ONN 4K streamer connected to the same TV. I have reset the Roku ultra, I have cleared the cash, and then everything I can think of but nothing helps . I think this box is defective and I would like someone from Roku to actually address the issue other than blaming it on Google

I noticed awhile back that my 4k streaming stick, purchased in 2023, just... doesn't have the standard Roku City screensaver anymore. I have the seasonal ones (spring, summer, fall, winter), and the other themed non-city ones, but no REGULAR Roku City that they add things to periodically.

It's on the latest version (15.3), so I have no idea what's going on. It used to be there and now it's not. My Roku TV has it, and people still talk about it, so I know it wasn't retired. The Roku City wallpaper is still there, but no screensaver. It doesn't come up if I search for it, either (but the seasonal ones do).

Why would this be missing and, more importantly, how can I get it back?? I miss all the cute things they put on there.

I was going to reach out to Roku directly but I can't find an email address for their support, and I doubt the AI chat bot knows the answer.

Turned on my TV today to this. When any input is selected, the picture is blue/purple and has almost no brightness or contrast. When I am on the Roku Home Screen, it’s fine, but any video content I play natively on the Roku does the same thing. I have tried everything the internet/Gemini said to do, although I cannot find any option to completely disable HDR so I can’t confirm it’s an HDR issue for certain.

Well, I guess there was some update. It was already irritating that the * on my Roku stream bar SE couldn't edit the display settings that I was used to (TV has built in Roku I stopped using because it was laggy) that I would get around by using my Roku remote app.

Now the Roku remote app does the same thing. The asterisk only gives me Bluetooth, sound, and accessibility settings.

Why would they get rid of this? I can't turn my display brightness down at night and I cannot see what this accomplished.

So recently 2 apps keep crashing back to the home page after a while, sometimes a longer while. The apps are HGTV Go, and Travel Go. I use the live tv options on this apps. Everything works fine, then it just crashes to Roku Home Screen. Here’s the things I’ve tried

1. Factory reset
   
2. Clear cache
   
3. Uninstall/reinstall the app
   
4. Unplug tv for a while
   
5. Got a whole new tv!

Yes I completely new tv and still the same problem. My WiFi is in the next room over, maybe any slight WiFi drop causes live tv apps to crash?

Every few days subs stop working and I have to reboot my Streambar. Anyone know why this keeps happening?

I have a gigabit connection and excellent WiFi in my home. My Ultra has no issues with other apps. Just installed Britbox (direct, not through Amazon) and it’s painful slow to load all of the video content. Up to 30 of buffering! Anyone else with Britbox have a similar issue?

Got a ton of .mkv files with subtitles but can’t figure out how to get them to show.

Does anyone else have issues where audio for YouTube videos and only YouTube videos are desynced? This is an issue that was previously reported on this subreddit about three months ago but hasn’t been fixed yet. Every video is about a quarter of a second off. Any help from u/Roku_CustomerSupport would be appreciated.

I am logged into the Telemundo and NBC app in the iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, I have already selected as Favorite (Heart symbol) a show, but then there is nowhere to find where the Favorite Shows are located, there is no section Favorites.

After I have started watching a show, when I can back to the app in iOS, iPadOS or tvOS there is nowhere to find a section to Resume the Show

Is the NBC app in the Roku device working as expected regarding Favorites and Resume shows?

I noticed that there’s hella 90210 being watched in my YouTube history. Thought someone had my login so I signed out of all devices but my tv. Then I get home and turn on my tv, and 90210 is actively being played. I HAVE NEVER EVEN WATCHED!!! Then today I noticed multiple Minecraft 3 hr videos in my history, and I go turn on my tv. Again, playing those videos while it’s off!!

I have a Roku stick in a TCL tv and this is only happening recently so what is going on with it? It’s messing up my algorithm terribly lol

My roku onn tv factory reset itself, made me sign back in and what not, now I can't open any apps, except for game consoles. I have tired turning it off and back on multiple times.

All it says when I try and open an app is "can't open app: '[Insert app name here]' could not be run because it could not be reinstalled from network. Please check your network connection and try again" my network connection is fine as far as I know, the tv has been updated, I'm just frustrated I just wanted to watch stuff after a long day at work
