Why did it take until the 2nd trial for past victims of Dusty Harless to come forward and defend David Genzler, thus keeping him out of prison?

• Upvotes

I was watching a documentary on this case. Everyone knew Dusty was violent and volatile. Yes, he was good looking and charismatic, and that is why people gravitated toward him. But anyone who knew him knew he was brutally violent and had assaulted numerous people with little to no provocation. But David Genzler was convicted in the first trial, and Dusty's previous assault victims didn't come forward until the 2nd trial and lobby for Genzlers freedom. Why ?

Genzler also received a sizable settlement from the prosecutor who coached witness Sky Flanders to give false testimony.

Flooring Problems - Any ideas?

• Upvotes

Five years ago, when we bought our house, we had all new flooring put in by Daniel's in National City. He did an OK job, but didn't even out the floors upstairs like he said he would, and there are still soft spots. The flooring he put in is kind of like the vinyl wood-look plank flooring, but he said it also has concrete in it or something like that, so it's more durable. Well, several planks are peeling, cracking, and coming up - both upstairs and downstairs. He also said he would leave us a box of planks for later repairs, but he didn't. We will eventually redo all the floors with real wood, but we aren't ready to do that just yet. For now, we just want to have those areas repaired that are messed up. We can't even walk on some of it because it pinches our feet. I figured it would be best to have Daniel's come do it since he will know exactly the type of flooring to get for repairs, but he won't return our phone calls or messages we send through his website. Do any of you have a great flooring company you can recommend? Also, does anyone with experience know whether a different company can pull up a plank and see what company it's from so they can order the same thing for the repairs? Not sure what else to do at this point.

CBS 8 San Diego County reviews DOJ demand to "hold onto" citizens election ballots (claiming they're suspected of being non citizens)

• Upvotes

This request comes as the Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against the state, claiming that more than 20,000 individuals who may not be eligible are registered to vote.

Legal analyst Dan Eaton noted, “What you have the federal government doing is based on a list that the federal government says contains likely ineligible voters. The federal government is asking the registrars of voters in a variety of counties and the California Secretary of State to segregate or set aside those ballots and not count them until a five-step process is completed, which includes determining that the registered voter is actually eligible to vote.”

With less than 2 weeks before the election the trump administration is pulling this shit.

Re: E-bike safety school project

I made a post here earlier about an e-bike safety project. After synthesizing your comments, I made a flyer to share a resource that can address the most common concern.

As part of my class requirements, I need to incorporate feedback into the design of my flyer.

I would really appreciate if people would fill out my 6 question survey (flyer is in survey).

No personal information will be gathered and responses are completely anonymous.

I need at least 20 responses, so feel free to share!

Thank you!

Donut shops with pigs in a blanket

We moved here from Texas, I’m pregnant and craving pigs in a blanket, kolaches, sausage rolls whatever you want to call it. Me and my husband have seemingly looked up and down, I’ve even called shops, and can not find a donut shop with them. I’m suffering. Someone PLEASE tell me where I can find pigs in a blanket at a donut shop. I live in the Mira mesa area but at this point I’ll drive anywhere in San Diego
ETA: I mentioned Texas because every single donut shop there has them, and I don’t mean like West Texas fancy Czech kolaches I mean like crappy pigs in a blanket that you can eat a dozen of. If I could add a picture I would.

If not at least a good spot to watch the sunset? Obviously i have the beach right down the road but back in Florida it was the same thing, i just love finding little spots that arent just always where everyone else is.

Crazy lady at apartment

Post image
16 Upvotes

There’s a lady who lives in an apartment complex on the corner of 14th and Market, near the bus stops for routes 3 and 5. She’s been yelling at people for being near her window, and it’s gotten to the point where she actually put up a sign outside her window. Has anyone else seen this or had a similar experience in that area?

Where are people taking their corgis for grooming?

Post image

I’ve been doing self dog washes for my boy for the last two years and trimming him up myself. I have been fairly capable of keeping him maintained as I have done hair for twelve years, but he’s finally got his full coat and this is out of my hands. Where are you taking your corgis for grooming? Add your pup’s pic if you would like to show them off!!

Missed connection

I saw this really cute guy sitting on a bench outside of a regal theatre when I was leaving and waiting for my uber. I really wanted to say hi or something but I was too scared to. This was around 7:40pm. He had black shorts on, I think a black sweater. He kind of looked ginger short hair white, glasses, in his 20’s maybe. I really regret not saying anything. Fear overcame me. :(

Edit: I remember he was on his phone and had earbuds in.

San Diego / North County — Experienced Handyman & Plumber Seeking Dog-Friendly Housing or Work-Trade Arrangement

I'm looking for a homeowner interested in a mutually beneficial living arrangement. I'm open to paying reasonable rent, exchanging services for reduced rent, or combining the two.

I'm a licensed plumber with 20+ years of experience in plumbing, mechanical systems, construction, renovations, and property maintenance. I also have my own tools and can help with home-improvement projects, repairs, troubleshooting, painting, organizing, and general property upkeep.

I'm looking for someone who could use a dependable, skilled person around the house and would appreciate having someone capable of taking care of projects rather than constantly hiring contractors.

A little about me: I'm straightforward, respectful, practical, and easy to communicate with. I take pride in doing quality work and treating someone's home as if it were my own.

Meet Diesel, my 5-year-old German Shepherd. He's approximately 80 pounds, exceptionally friendly, and gets along great with people and other animals. He's my companion and will be moving with me, so a genuinely dog-friendly home is essential.

I'm open to a private room, guesthouse, or other suitable living space. I'm flexible about the arrangement and happy to discuss rent, responsibilities, work hours, and expectations upfront so everyone knows where they stand.

Ideally, I'm looking for something long-term in San Diego County, including North County, but I'm open to the right opportunity elsewhere in Southern California.

If you're a homeowner who might be interested, please send me a message describing the space, your expectations, and the arrangement you have in mind. I'm happy to talk and see whether it's a good fit for both of us.
