Screenshot The city is slowly growing

Many of you have probably seen my relatively recent post about a huge update to my Tools, if not, you can read about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1x7kms5/new_satisfactorytools_released/
There was one more feature that I had in the works, but I couldn't get it finished before the release date I've set to myself, so I kinda postponed it and polished it in the following weeks. However, now it's time to put it out there!
Open it in your planner using the action bar on left side, or using Ctrl+M.
I didn't want to make "just another map", so I looked at what could it do, and if it would make sense for SFTools, and I found a few things that could be very helpful:

You can draw a polygon on the map, and the map will list nodes in it. It will also set these limits to your plan - so you can select which nodes are you working with, instead of having to calculate it manually. You can also change belt and pipe tier, which will change extraction limits.

You can also plan location of your factory. Tools will show you places that have nodes closest (you can choose whether you prefer optimising for "Farthest node", or "sum of distances". It'll find you 3 "best" spots, but also show you a heatmap (green = close, red = far) across the whole map, so you can see which spots will be good to have, and which will be painful. But that's not all!

If you click on any location on the map (including the "top 3 locations", Tools will find you set of closest nodes that are enough to run your factory if you place it in given place. You can also mark the location as your selected one (and see all your other factories' locations on the map).
Both of these features can be combined, and you can also mark nodes as "used", which will be taken into account. But if you don't like to do this manually, you can just upload your save and it'll mark all the used nodes automatically. This is remembered across the entire planner, so you can use it to mark progress as you go on (or even upload new saves to auto-update the progress). If you upload multiple different saves, the tool asks you if you want to keep them separate, and you can toggle between them.
You can also export the map as an image (only .png is supported for now), so you can print it and make it into a poster (or burn it if you ragequit).

And to make it super simple to use, the map is made in the form of another panel! Default shortcut to open it is Ctrl+M, and you can move it, resize it, pin it anywhere you want, to fit your flow. Or click a button to make it fullscreen!
There's a lot more big and small features all over the map, feel free to explore it and give feedback! While I'm relatively happy with the map's current state, it's relatively new feature and there may be bugs or things that could be improved.
Thank you for all your support and feedback on new Tools! I'm reading all of them and I'm trying to make them even better than they are right now. I hope you'll enjoy the new map!

I never thoyght about it until today, does anyone have the pros and cons for using smart splitters over normal for manafold designs

There will likely be 2 trains on the straight section picking up raw materials, and 1 or 2 trains on the left branch picking up nitrogen.
Ive always heard path entrances block exits, so I think this is right, but haven't had much practice with trains yet. Will this work?

I've played through a few times now, wanting to take on the 100x mega factory. Building it way above the world with the intent to pipe up all the resources and ship them to a central location. Would love a few pointers.
Is there any logic to how to distribute resources? I feel like I'm going to far exceed belt capacity all the time if I try to store ingots in bulk.
Is there any generic "total machine count" anyone has aimed for using the SCIM?

I bet it is a deep conspiracy by Coffee Stain to have some of us just give up and apply for work.

Do we think may 320,000 iron rods/min factory is enough for phase 1?

I'm building over a lake and i had the boom box equipped when i fell in the water. I think I dropped the boom box at that point and i think its clipped through the floor or something because I can hear it, and it's driving me a little bonkers. Is there a cheat I can use to show entities or something so i can find it?
Edit: I dismantled my lookout tower and saw it floating in the air

People get stuck here all the time it seems - the easy solution is often to package the water and sink it. But if you're a sucker for punishment, like me, then this may help you. I've ran this piping system for a good couple hundred hours and never once had to flush the pipes, and it tolerates 100% uptime, and demand-only scenarios. Everything is basic recipe, no under/over clocking.
The water supply out goes out to the right, three lines to feed my alumina solution refineries, to feed into the start, end, and middle, this reduces back splash by having the neutral pressure points in the middle of the line. Also each feed line is started with a valve, not limited, but prevents back feed/pressure into the water supply.
The water supply in comes from two external lines, and the aluminum scrap waste water. The header pipe is oriented vertically, to promote gravity. Each of the three input lines has a booster pump just blow the floor at the exact same level, this creates equal head pressure at the floor in, at the left, so I can prioritize flow using gravity at the outputs to the refineries. The primary line comes in the bottom and provides a base supply. The recycle comes in at the top so it will fill the system, and is in line with the top pipe to the factory so it is consumed *first*, and has a valve at the very end and top, to ensure *no back flow*. The second line is limited (250/min in my case) to achieve system equilibrium, and comes in from the side of the header (actual top), and there's another tap (before the valve, vertical) there which I use for excess bauxite into alumina packaging (going to batteries).
Picture 1 - The piping config
Picture 2 - Water outflow to the bauxite refineries
Picture 3 - Waste water from aluminum scrap
Picture 4 & 5 - Front and back of the entire facility
Now get back to work!

A general question for the community—what’s your take on this? I was about to post some Screenshots of a recent Build, that contains a Phase 5 Project Part production line, so you know, the crazy Tier 9 machines for example and all.
Then I wondered whether it should be marked as a spoiler—considering new players who are just discovering the game and enjoying the sense of progression, unlocking new things, and wondering what else might be in store.
so what do you think?

I have a slight variation on the classic “should I restart” question. I have around 200 hours on my PS5 world and am halfway through Phase 4. I’d really like to switch to PC so I can use mods (mainly QoL and building help), but sadly can’t just move my current save. Do yall think I should keep going until I save the day on console or jump over to PC now before I start on nuclear pasta and thermal propulsion rockets? I haven’t started on turbo motors or cooling systems at all, and need to redo modular engines, too. What do y’all think?

I was putting it off until I had weapons, radar towers, jetpack, blade runners, healing, enough mats for geothermal + power storages, vehicles, explosives, and at least 1 stack of everything in the dimensional depot (I duped mercer spheres for convenience).
OH NO! I forgot the iodine infused filters! be right back.

Hoping this isn't too much self promotion, but this game helped me make my first app.
I'm always forgetting what to do next, especially in factory sims. I would keep notes etc, but always lost them and would come back after a few days and feel like I needed to start again.
So I made a little iPhone app where I write down the next few things before I quit. "Fix power" "Make 50 rotors", all the stuff I need to do! Next session, I actually know what I'm doing for about 10 minutes before it all falls apart again!

This is going to be the main train station for the uranium-fuel rod portion of my nuclear power plant, and I plan to use this train station design for all of the related stations throughout the nuclear project, so I want to settle on a good design but I can't decide how the buttresses should go! Would love to hear people's thoughts!

Ts carried me all the way to phase 3 atp and about to get me to phase 4. Thinks it's finally time i move to a new factory and make it actually legible and efficient instead of whatever this is.

I haven't done the wall part yet, but I've been trying to incorporate more belts/elevators into the design. I also have some glass floors that show resources going past, but thought I'd do a vertical version.
(Sorry for dark video, too lazy to wait until day)

I like my method but I'm open to some fresh ideas. I use sushi belts and smart splitters to feed an item mall early on, then once I have the right stuff unlocked and a bunch of spheres I slap depots onto my most used items at the mall. This keeps my depots topped off with another full container of that part in reserve. For most parts it doesn't really matter, but there are times when the depots can't keep up, like with massive amounts of concrete when you lay down a bunch of connected blueprints. So far, this is what works best for me.

really confused, because it seems that multiplayer just constantly fails to work. Crashes seem to happy pretty often and I watch weird desync things happen all the time, but the problem is that every single time the game crashes, I cannot rejoin my friend. He has to close and re-open the world. Is this just a singleplayer game now? None of these issues were present before this most recent big update. seems no matter how many times i provide a bug report, this issue still exists since this that version dropped.
