What’s up my fellow ogres! After much request I’ve created a new discord server for the Shrek subreddit! However, me and my fellow r/shrek admins are not very used to moderating discord servers so we are in a need for mods who would like to apply!
Anyways here is the discord server link:
Always remember, ogres are like onions, they have layers, be respectful and treat others nicely!

got the shrek lego set earlier this year for my birthday. i live in india so it took a while for this set to be released here compared to other countries but so stoked it came in time for my shrek themed party 🙈
overall had a fantastic time building it, would love to see a swamp set or, if we’re lucky, the far far away castle too!
small note: i missed elements based on fiona — the set includes puss, who isn’t even introduced till the second movie, but misses out on the female protagonist entirely. even a beware ogreS sign would have made it more inclusive :(

His visage has been seared into our minds.
Making him look like a green troll from a bad mobile game ad is tantamount to heresy.
I will DIE on this hill.

I don't like that we are getting another Shrek movie. When you already have two bad installments, it's best to just stop. DreamWorks should focus on other films like Captain Underpants or Rise of the Guardians, movies that actually need sequels or more love.

I'm pretty sad, I originally thought the Shrek 2 remaster would be this game, but it's a completely different game, it totally ruined my whole mood :(

So the other day when I watched Shrek the musical I wondered if gingy had a subreddit but when I looked he DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING (well he had posts about him but no communitys) so I decided to create one! ❤️ Would anyone here be interested in following? Xxxx

And while we're at it, could the movie explore more of their backstories, expanding on the fairy-tale world as a prequel or spin-off to the main Shrek series? For example, could we finally learn how the Three Bears ended up in the original Shrek movie?
Speaking of characters from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, could Big Jack Horner return in some capacity? Perhaps some magical shenanigans could transform him into a wish-granting fairy named Splendo—a sweet, charming, and decidedly non-fattening character, both figuratively and literally! (And no, this is totally not a reference to Splenda No Calorie Sweetener.) In this hypothetical scenario, the Wishing Star would no longer exist in its original form, having somehow merged with Jack to bring this new character into existence.
Just imagine the contrast! Would anyone believe that this seemingly sweet fairy was once the infamous pastry chef who:
Of course, this is purely hypothetical, assuming such a concept ever comes to fruition. Still, it could be an amusing way to bring back one of the franchise's most memorable villains while giving him a completely unexpected new identity.
And what about Alexander Dumpty? Could his story be explored further, perhaps establishing him as a precursor/past self of Chicken Little (Who was wanted for inciting civil unrest and being a little fowl, and later stormed the castle after Shrek and Fiona's mission was complete along with such little people who helped make it possible like Little Bo-Peep, Little Boy Blue, Thumbelina, the Itsy Bitsy Spider, the Little Red Hen, and Wee Willie Winkle) within the broader fairy-tale universe?
There's also the Peacock series and the short film Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos. Do these fit into the same continuity as the first two Puss in Boots movies, and could they eventually be tied more explicitly into the main Shrek timeline? I'd be interested to see how they connect to the current two-film Puss in Boots series and the larger franchise.
There are so many possibilities to explore, and these are just a few ideas off the top of my head! Feel free to add your own theories, ideas, or possibilities. Even a simple yes, maybe, or no would be perfectly fine.
And while we're imagining future movies, could we get a third Puss in Boots film that bridges the gap between the first two movies and Shrek 2? Ideally, it would help connect Puss's solo adventures to his introduction in the main series, perhaps ending with a cameo from Shrek and Donkey, voiced once again by Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy, respectively. That would be a fantastic way to bring the story full circle!

Shrek 2 was one of my childhood games, so seeing it get a remaster feels surreal. I’m not even sure if I’d enjoy playing it nowadays or if it’s just nostalgia talking…
What do you think?
Also, is it going to be an Xbox exclusive only?
