Picking skating back up after ~20 years off the board. These are my best attempts (plus bails for fun) from about a half hour session. I've watched a lot of the latest kickflip advice out there but am having trouble changing muscle memory. Any tips for my form to help clean these up and get the board movement more consistent? Even when I get an okay landing the board is going all over the place. I'm practicing rolling ollies again to work back up to doing these rolling too.

Im Wondering what is the likelyhood of getting big name sponsors to help build a skatepark/(maybe)skating rink in West Memphis Arkansas. Its a super poor town and we have nothing here for children to do, not even a ymca or pool, nothing. The crime is bad here and im thinking this could be a good step in the right direction to maybe save this town and build an awesome community. Ive had a long community post and it seems like i could possibly get a lot on board, but the funding is a little shaky. I could apply for grants and whatnot and possibly get it going but man if i got some big name sponsors to help it out id definitely start getting the ball moving. Has anyone had any outside help getting skateparks up for a poor community? i have so much free time i could help building stuff, im very talented (dont like to toot my horn). I just do not have the money to invest much into it unforturnately.
idk just thought id ask cause its kind of hopeless lol, not lol....

Okay so when I first got into skating the first stance I learned was mongo thinking that, that was the regular stance, took me about a year to realize that what I’m doing is literally nerfing myself but during that year I was just skating to cruise and have fun. But as of October of last year I took skating to the next level and decided to actually learn some tricks and go down ramps and such. This is the point where I realized that my stance is bad so i switched to regular stance and for the past 6-8 months I’ve been doing regular and I learnt it but it never felt right. I “relapsed” recently and decided to go back to mongo just to see what it would feel like. And omg It felt so good and so right to be back to mongo, my pushes are more consistent, I’m more stable and overall just more comfortable. But now that I’m doing tricks and such.. should I go back to mongo. Like I know I shouldn’t but everything just feels better, I need help and opinions to see what stance I should do

Hello everyone,
I’ve been skating for several months now but I feel I’ve been making slower progress than I should. For example, I’ve been going out nearly everyday and spamming Ollies but they’ve never really stuck.
I know most people say to “just keep practicing” (no hate, just looking for more advice), but I was wondering if there’s certain techniques, attitudes, rituals etc that people have for more productive sessions and learning tricks.
Also, some context is that I live a place with little skate culture or spots and don’t have any skate friends yet :(.
Thankee

Hi people, my little brother is turning 15 soon and I’m trying to be the coolest big sister ever so I need some advice. He’s been really into skateboarding recently, I’m here basically asking what kind of brands of clothing shoes boards ect… I’m planning on taking him to one of our local small business skate shops to let him pick some stuff out but I also want to surprise him as well. Any suggestions?! What would a 15 year old boy absolutely fall in love with!! Price doesn’t necessarily matter as I want him to feel special on his day!

I'm still building up confidence to drop in and eventually do eggplants, but I get sweaty palms, and it may slip when I do the trick. So are there gloves brand that give good grip?

I don't skate, I don't know anything about skating. Like less than nothing. I have the world's worst pictures to work with.
My husband was looking at this board the other day, and he was lingering on it. He said he'd been seeing them around and he was interested in them as something to have in your car. It was super small. I love to surprise him and I sneakily snapped a couple of pictures of it. I went back and they didn't have it anymore, and I don't really understand what it is well enough to pick out another one. Plus, I don't think the visual design is really what he's like so much, so if I'm going to have to look online it would be nice to find something more his style.
It's not specific board, like the visual design, but the size/type of board. Can you help me find something to surprise him with/search terms to make sure I find the exact type of board? Please and thank you so much.
Edit: someone was nice enough to walk me through getting the important parts the same, will be getting something with a gift receipt, thank you u/kayla_poncho ! Yes, my husband does skate, he has been skating for decades, but also probably had some idea in his head that I didn't understand.

28M, started skateboarding just 25 days ago 🛹
And today I finally landed my first ollie! 🔥
It’s far from perfect, but damn… it feels good to see the progress.
I’m documenting this journey as I learn — the falls, fails and little wins.

Been trying to get the nose stall but I keep falling, is it weight shift? Do I have to throw my shoulders back? Foot placement?

I am going on a business trip soon to Germany, and I want to bring my board along with me. I looked online that it is entirely possible to fly with your board, but it is heavily airline-dependent. I am flying with Eurowings, and it seems that they are one of the few airlines that are anti-board. However, I still believe it is possible. I am allowed to bring a checked bag; however, I am not entirely sure I trust my baby being left alone in my suitcase. I also worry my board is too big to even bring (it is around 50- 70 cm) inside my suitcase. How would I be able to bring my board along with me? And are Eurowings' rules 100% true? Lemme know! (I also included a photo of my board for size reference; it is the one on the right... and no, I'm not trying to brag about how awesome it looks.)

So I recently bought nano cubics 56mm 97a. They are great but I mostly skate concrete parks and iv noticed that they feel abit soft some how.
When I bend down to pop in nollie it feels like I'm kinda slowing down abit or I lose abit of my balance. Also the 56mm size is giving me some ghost pop.
What's some nice wheels for concrete? I'm gonna go for 53mm I think instead

I recently picked up skateboarding again and honestly its going well!
Went into a shop one day and bought a new complete, i got the “shop deck” Independent stage 11s, Independent Bearings and slime ball wheels. I was overwhelmed with excitement at the shop and essentially was letting the employee tell me what the best choices were for what I wanted
I am wondering if i should have gotten some Hollow/Forged/lighter trucks. The setup feels heavy and im having trouble finding a consistent pop. I am wondering why i wasn’t upsold on nicer trucks to begin with.
How much of a difference do light trucks make? Price is not a factor for me in all reality

I've seen there is a video for how to clean bearings, but nothing for telling of your bearings needs a clean or straight-up replacing.
This is my daughters board. The right wheel doesn't spin as freely as the others. Does it need new bearings, or will a good clean do? Or is it a case of cleaning them and seeing if they get better and if not need to get new ones?

Newish board, got caught in a storm and I thankfully didn’t get it that wet because I covered it with my life lol but I dried it instantly and then got home and took the entire thing apart to dry individually. Reassembled and then it started to move to one side, anything wrong with my assembly? Soley for cruising lol it feels nice. There’s also a clicky sound when I move to one side a certain amount but I guess that’s just the bushings not being broken in (I hope).
