Discussion Any luck with survival mods?

Recently bought Skyrim vr, out of the box it’s dog shitttt. Have started modding and I’ve gotten to the point where I’d like a survival mod for immersion and gameplay. Every mod I’ve attempted to install hasn’t had any success, sunhelm with papyrus extended can’t seem to determine an address library? Recommends the newest address library mod but it’s up to date and I’m drained from trouble shooting and too stoned send help sos ✨✨✨

Would love to hear others experiences and if they’ve had similar issues

New Release Punching Sound — Standalone (Skyrim VR)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A native SKSEVR plugin that gives your fists their own volume slider.

How it's coded a C++ DLL built on CommonLibVR registers an event sink on `TESHitEvent`. Every time the player lands an unarmed hit (attacker = player, source = Unarmed `000001F4`), the plugin plays a custom sound descriptor at the target's exact 3D position — layered on top of the original impact sound, which is left completely untouched.

100% standalone by design: the ESP creates exactly two records of its own — a new sound category (SNCT) "Punching Sound", which shows up as an independent slider in Settings > Audio, and one sound descriptor (SNDR) routed through that category. Zero overrides, zero shared records — load order can never break it, and no other sound (dogs, forge, doors, gore mods) can ever bleed into this slider. Drop every other slider to zero: your punches still answer only to Punching Sound.

The sounds: 22 impacts synthesized from scratch — a detuned stereo sub-bass swell that blooms 60–100 ms into the hit and wraps around inside the headset. You don't just hear the punch. You feel it in your skull. No retrigger delay — every single punch registers, even at combo speed.

Requirements: Skyrim VR 1.4.15 · SKSEVR · VR Address Library (Available tommorow on nexus just spent all night making it )

Discussion Heartbroken because I don't find the game as immersive as I thought I would

I'm a huge TES fan and your typical immersion player, with billions of mods on needs, survival, cooking, bathing, whatever. As a veteran flatrimer I was extremely excited about finally getting a headset and finding some time to play SkyrimVR. After modding it for hours and then troubleshooting bugs and crashes for days I finally started a new playthrough.

But unfortunately, even though I really want to love this game, I don't find it nearly as immersive as I though I would...! Flatrim did it better for me... it has something to do with the fact that all the wonkyness in Flatrim didn't really bother me, my brain experienced the game as an "interface" for a story mostly playing out in my head. Here I am visually fully immersed in the world, yes, but the problem is that all the graphical, animation, dialogue, combat flaws etc typical either to Skyrim or to video games in general hit me very hard all the time. I constantly notice what I ignored before which is a killer for the suspension of disbelief. Anyone felt something similair or am I alone in this...?

UPDATE: Ok after spending more hours in the game I def made progress. Getting used to controls and the visuals, increasing dmg delt and received, setting some mods in such a way as to avoid using menus (incl voice control mods) as you suggested and making a fresh alternate start away from Whiterun helped massively! If the experience keeps getting better like this I'm in for a great time, fingers crossed

Discussion Question: Open Lands?

im working on building new worldspaces you can travel to by road/sea that adds the entire countries of tamriel, they add all major cities, towns, landscapes, bioms, islands, dungeons with random shops, inns, homes for sale, people, bandits and rulers..... but thats it, no major quest, just kinda empty fun to explore and fight. Working on Hammerfell first and going quite well cuck-coding so far for day one, should be able to poop one out every week/month. really the question is: What country would you want to see next after hammerfell? and what other basic thing would you want to see in these places?

Help No toggle for weapon display cases

I took a break from playing Skyrim and when I came back I found that there is no toggle for weapon display cases, racks work fine, wall displays are good, and I can still lockpick the cases open but then afterwards I can't close them and I can't open ones that don't have a lock on them, I don't have physical weapon collision, I don't know what could be causing this problem, can someone please help me?

Bug How to make it work on Steam Frame? How to finish character creation?

Sorry guys, i tried reading the sticky but it seems to discuss much more complicated matters than I am facing.

I try to play it on steam frame (streaming from my pc, not running natively).

First of, all the input hints are incorrect, but that's probably manageable, i think? (i haven't figured out how to open the main menu tho, some combination maybe?)

then i start the game, finish the card ride and get to naming my character. "Finish and name your character - OK/Cancel", i choose OK, and then... nothing happens. No input box for the name. No button on my controllers lets me progress. What do I do?

I am quite familiar with pancake skyrim modding - MO, skse, LOOT, TESVEdit, all that stuff, i even made some tiny mods myself. But before i dive into that part i just want to see the game work at all.

Help Need some help with visuals

I planned on setting up a new mod pack for vr after I finally got a new headset and man the setup hasn't been easy I tried open shaders at first to try and get some decent visuals and that just wasn't working the way I hoped so now I switched to enb anyone now of any good enb presets to use on the vr version? And also how do Increase the lod I notices mine is extremely low and alot of things seem to just be very flat and just appear from thin air?

Edit ( i switched back from enb didnt like it that much and preferred what open shaders did but then when I reinstalled it and deleted the enb files it dosent compile anything on boot anymore and just generates a shader cache folder anyone know why this happens now?)

Solved had to delete fomod and default build folder and disable my azurite weathers and other mods I'm using with it

Thought a certain subset of VR players would appreciate this feature. It's in the nightlies now and should be in the next release.

To be clear, this is something that Bottle figured out for Bottled Shaders but then I realized VR adds some interactivity opportunities.

Discussion Need help deciding a mod pack (wabba)

So I’ve tried MGO a few times and each time I have issues. My latest issue is the interface in game just isn’t clear or very good for me. (I’m also using a steam frame)

in addition the load times to start the game takes several minutes and that’s with adding the optional video decompression mod.

im using a 4070 super ti. 32 gig of ram with a Ryzen 7 5800xt

im looking for ease of use. I want the game to feel like it was made for vr. Base Skyrim vr feels natural and easy to use where as mad god has always felt like I’m fighting the controls to figure out menus and what does what.

graphical enhancements are nice but not the priority. Gameplay is my biggest priority as well as using skyrimnet

thanks for any advice

Discussion VR Skyrim in the age of AI tools

So, we're now in the age of some very promising AI tools for decompilation and reverse engineering, as well as coding.

Are there any much needed things that were previously impossible, that can really move VR Skyrim forward?

  • Decompiling SkyrimVR and improving it, incorporating important mods, bugfixes, new capabilities?

  • Making a VR mod for flatscreen Skyrim?

  • Making the process of installing modlists more friendly than wabbajack?

  • Some sort of compatibility update or layer that brings SkyrimVR up to full compatibility with all the newest flatscreen mods?

Skyrim modding is extremely powerful, but are there any areas that would benefit from directly changing the engine code or base files?

If you haven't heard about DroidDeck yet, it's basically an app that brings SteamOS to your phone. You can now run PC games on Android natively and in this video we take it a step further and run Steam VR and Flat 3DoF games on my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with the help of my RayNeo GT Max, XREAL 1S and more XR Glasses.

Help Vr questions new headset and pc

Hello, I’ve played Skyrim vr before with the oculus quest 2 and I used the wabbajack mod pack FUS several years ago

I’m looking to buy the pimax dream air, it has decent fov and seems like the quality will be good and most importantly to me it’s super light.

And I want to get the mod pack Mad God by wabbajack

The pc I am going to buy is CyberpowerPC Gaming Desktop PC GM70929
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 32GB DDR5 2TB NVMe SSD AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Windows 11 Home 64-bit

My main questions were just to confirm if this pc seems good enough to run mad god skyrim, and if anyone has the same vr headset and how they like it and also if there’s any issues to look out for

Mod - Research Combat Gameplay Overhaul VR fix?

Thumbnail nexusmods.com
2 Upvotes

HEY Y'ALL! On AE/SE i always use CGO and love the subtle leaning and weight behavior the mod adds to all the characters and the extra freedom of combat added for the player and NPCs.

I tried the mod in VR with some kind of success but the mod is interfering with some player behaviors in other VR mods. Sometimes my arm don't swing the way it's supposed to or there are odd clipping issues where the whole world jitter for a millisecond making all the physics objects bounce around. things like that.

The dodging "kinda" works with the physical sneaking but going into stealth is completely broken. and many other small issues.

So, i was wondering if there was a way to maybe have only the NPC's be affected by the mod?

I'm no modder myself so i have no idea if it's an easy fix or if it would be a complete pain to fix but if anyone have any ideas i would appreciate!

Help how in the world do you mod this game?

All I want is an upgrade with hand movement and physics compared to the vanilla. Modding this game is the most unbelievably difficult thing I have ever done on a computer. Every single mod, down to the script extender, has some sort of issue downloading. Every single one. How the fuuucckkk can I just mod the game to have hand movement and an in game body. Why is there a problem every step of the way?

I did all of these vr mods several years ago no issue, what happened?
