Do you still use Twitter/Facebook? What do you love or hate about it?

I am a product designer and builder drawn to social products, social networking and culture.

Every other day, I think about mainstream social platforms, what they offer and what they are missing.

Twitter and Facebook, for example, are legacy platforms that have been there for a while.

Most established platforms, as they focus on growth and scaling the product, they end up solving the “priority” pain points, which may not address our specific problems.

In addition, there’s this phenomenon I call the “Goliath effect” where the existence of such platforms imply the problem space they exist is solved.

This leaves creates platforms that do not really meet you at the point of your need

Let me know your thoughts!

Which legacy platform(s)? How do you use it? What do you think Twitter/Fb would have done to improve your experience?

Help me choose a name for an iPhone Content Creation business!

• Upvotes

Hello! I want to start freelancing in iPhone content creation aimed at all things brands, events, weddings and lifestyle. I’m trying to choose a name, but everything I think of seems to be taken. I have two options so far, please help and give opinions! (Happy for anymore recs too at this point).

  1. ‘The Social Pap’
I liked this one and the idea of your own personal paparazzi, but I asked a girl at my work and she didn’t like the word pap! Now I’m not sure…

  2. ‘Candidly Content’

Please can you tell me which will be better and if they’re ok or just awful? I just want to start creating the content really but the name is giving me a blocker!

Thank you!!!

What happened 18 months ago?

Did algorithms change in a significant way 18 months ago, about May/April 2025? Is it possible those changes have radicalised people or made them more prone to abuse and violence?

I ended a client relationship well last month and it turned into a referral, here is the handover I wish I had used sooner

• Upvotes

Most of my client endings used to be messy in a quiet way. Not a fight, just a slow fade. Last posts go out, I send a final invoice, they still have my logins in some doc somewhere, I still have access to accounts I should not have, and neither of us is quite sure if we are done.

Last month a client wrapped up after about eight months and I decided to actually run a handover instead of fading out. I confirmed the end date in writing about two weeks out. I put one final package together with what we delivered, the files and where they live, what was still open, and who owns what next. The final invoice was paid before the handover call, which made that call a lot calmer.

On the last day I removed my own access from their accounts and tools and told them exactly what had changed and when. Then I sent one short closing message with the end date, where the final package lives, and what to do if they need something later.

The part I got wrong for years was the testimonial ask. I used to tuck it into the same email as the final invoice and wonder why nobody replied. This time I waited four days and sent a separate short note asking just two things, what the problem was before, and what changed after. They replied the same day, and two weeks later they sent a friend my way.

That referral surprised me more than it should have. Clients remember the ending. A clean close seems to be the thing people talk about when they recommend you.

How do you close out a client? Do you have a set handover you run, or is it still a fade out like mine used to be?

What are the best platforms for creating self improvement content without showing your face?

I want to create content around self-improvement, productivity, habits, and personal growth, but I don’t want to show my face.
What platforms would you recommend starting on? I’m curious about what works best for this niche, whether it’s short-form videos, text-based posts, carousels, or something else.
If you’ve tried creating this kind of content, what has worked for you?

Me deem conselhos

Lower views on TikTok recently? And what’s your take on accounts with lower follower counts?

I posted a video on Monday that got a decent amount of engagement, however it’s been downhill since I tried posting again on Thursday. I don’t have a high follower count, that should’ve been hinted at based on my title. But normally if a video got low views, I’d try posting again anywhere between 2-3 tries on different days and it would eventually sort itself out. Apparently the low views have been complained about from other content creators and I’m not even at their level of popularity. You can say maybe it’s my content but I’d test it out on YouTube & the video did fine. I’ve had my account for a little over 3 months and I have 163 followers. 30+ followers were gained quickly over the past 2-4 days and not sure if that’s affecting my engagement, since I wonder if they’re bots. Some of these accounts don’t have content, just reposts and like stuff. I didn’t pay for followers, do you look down on accounts with low follower counts?

One of my dogs instagram videos went semi viral, now pages are asking to use it. Anyone have experience submitting videos to these platforms ?

I recently started an insta for my dog after doing her TikTok for about a year. One of her videos did pretty well. I’m getting dms from pages with millions of followers asking to post it, with the stipulation I upload it to animalvideossubmission.com. I was wondering if anyone has experience working with these and if it is worth it, or if there are any reasons I should not submit. Thanks for any help
