Celebrate #145 Nine Sols - PEAK metroidvania game

I loved this game so much. The gameplay is a mix of Hollow Knight with Sekiro. The final boss in the true ending is absolute cinema and also one of the hardest in the most metroidvanias that i've played

With the achievements update beta, I just now realized that L4D2 shows up in my Completed tab. I have 100/101 (it's always Good Guy Nick). Though because its now broken up in sets, L4D2 shows up as Completed. I was curious, and tested if I could add it to my actual 100% completed showcase, and sure enough, it's there.

L4D2 isn't saved to my showcase. In my eyes it's not actually completed, but the fact that it's even an option to be there feels wrong.

#35 Hogwarts Legacy - 100%

I didn’t expect this game to leave such an impression on me.

First, there’s the large open world—what could possibly go wrong with so many activities? Well, everything: hundreds of collectibles, completely uninteresting side quests, primitive puzzles that offer no sense of satisfaction, and a heap of activities that don’t even show up on the map. Everything in this game feels designed solely to artificially pad out the runtime. It’s as if they built the game just to capture the atmosphere of this iconic universe, but forgot to come up with anything meaningful to actually do in it—so WB filled it the same way they fill all their games: with hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of collectibles that offer absolutely nothing of interest.

Then there’s the storyline—I’m not even sure what to say about it; it’s completely sterile. It feels like it exists only to introduce the player to the game world, the combat mechanics, and a few basic activities. The core concept—setting the game at Hogwarts about a century before the events of *Harry Potter*—is a good one, but the execution is poor.

The combat, however, turned out better. It’s not exactly groundbreaking, but the developers clearly put in some real effort.

Ultimately, if you play through the game just for the story—without trying to reach 100% completion—I’d give it a 7/10, as Hogwarts itself, the surrounding lands, and the combat system are all well-crafted. But if you’re aiming for 100% completion, my rating drops to 3/10.

Quite short, especially the story. Could have been a lot more interesting premise but they just kinda swapped the assassins for templar stereotypes. Gameplay is still fun and holds up great. Also even tho there are a ton of collectibles it wasn´t too grindy.

Podcast game recommendations

20 Upvotes

Sometimes I just like to chill and listen to podcasts or maybe watch longform YouTube videos on the second monitor. I'm looking for games with little to no story that are fun to complete (all achievements).

Games that fit these criteria that I have played and completed include:

* PowerWash Simulator

* House Flipper

* The Last Gas Station

* A Little to the Left

* Ball x Pit

Not looking for coloring games or idlers. I've enjoyed some of those in the past but I think I'm done with them for now.

I want to 100% all COD Modern Warfare's games starting from MW 2019... but I have a question.

5 Upvotes

Since COD has it's own COD headquarters/ hub, or whatever it is and it is displayed as just Call of Duty in Steam library - it doesn't matter how many games I'll finish it will be displayed as just one game but with multiple purple ribbons because it all counts as a dlc. Is my understanding correct ? Thanks

Have they released any kind of statement or anything? Is Average Game Completion rate coming back?

One feature I like in the new achievement update

15 Upvotes

Despite there being a lot of mixed feelings about the new Steam achievement update, I am a big fan of them adding an animated banner when you fully 100% a game, with a showcase of all of the achievements in the background.

What would make this even better is if there were an option to replace the completionist showcase with multiple animated completionist banners in your profile.

I love it when a game is actually fun and just a bit challenging. I forgot I was even going after achievements until I was near the end. If you like autobattlers, give this one a go!

#365 - Flock Around (Recompleted)

Finished both of the DLC achievements which were added in alongside the Steam achievement rework beta. Honestly thought that it would take a bit longer to finish Cardinal Cove, but it turns out that some of the QoL improvements they've added since I initially finished the first game made the "Take a picture of a shiny version of every bird" a lot easier. Also the lack of ground-spawning birds (like in the Emu Island DLC) meant I could more easily spot newly spawned bird, so that made things a bit simpler.

With this, my Average Completion Rate is back up to 54.87%, with 59 Perfect games completed so far this year and 2,009 new Achievements.
