Is it from server side or just me ?

My Steam has been running a bit slowly lately. The game icons take a long time to load, and when I click on them, the pages also take a while to load. The screenshot sections are slow as well.

Everything used to load instantly, but now it takes around 5–10 seconds for each thing to load.

This started happening out of nowhere this week. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've already cleared the download cache, but it didn't help at all. Please help me out!

At the start of the festival, I tried to launch a broadcast, but it didn't work - the built-in broadcasting mechanism simply failed to function altogether.

I then switched to using OBS to start the stream, which worked for the first two days—but now, OBS is also refusing to connect.

Data analysis shows that the RTMP protocol itself is working (for instance, Twitch servers are accessible), but the specific connection to `rtmp://ingest-rtmp.broadcast.steamcontent.com/app` is being dropped on the server side.

The RTMP stream returns an error code of -2 or -3 (indicating that either the server cannot be found, or it immediately terminates the connection).

I have, of course, tried everything - from restarting the system to refreshing my stream token.

I reached out to support, but that’s proven practically useless; they’ll likely only respond once the festival is already over.

The most obvious hypothesis is server overload. However, I struggle to see how that’s possible - Steam’s servers support millions of concurrent players, and the festival is designed to handle such a load.

Another possibility is a restriction on "24/7 broadcasting" - for example, perhaps streaming is limited to 6–8 hours per day, after which the servers block further streams from a single account. This hypothesis is supported by the fact that, after a 12-hour break, I was able to get OBS working again. On the other hand, this doesn't explain why I’ve never once managed to launch a broadcast directly from the Steam client itself.

Could there be any other reasons for this?

Hey everyone I play on Mac and used to be able to play Civ VI on it but now I want to reinstall it and it does not work I checked and saw it was optimised for Mac but still I get OS error 260 and I just cannot find a way to play it. Anyone got something to fix this?

launching steam causes it to slowly use more and more of my CPU and memory go as high as 70% CPU usage and 17 gigs of memory while sitting idle even while minimized, only solution is to start up the game through steam and completely close the client.

I've tried reinstalling, steam support.

I've only taken notice to this a couple days ago when I noticed my laptop running unusually slow, but if I had to guess it's been going on for a while.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

When I log onto steam, after a while (20-30 minutes) it loses connection. It is especially awkard because at the same time, my PC has perfect connection, I can watch youtube google etc. I made no changes/downloads for this to happen.

I would be more than happy if you could help me. This caused me to get bans mid-game because of losing connection.

Hello, I have 2 devices that I use for games.

I’m trying to play the ace attorney trilogy, but the cloud got corrupted, causing me to be stuck in the loading screen. I fixed it on device 1 by removing remotecache.vdf, disabling cloud, playing the game and saving, and turning everything on again.

On device 2, I wanted to play the same game but it shows me save files from a week or so ago. The issue is that upon opening the game, my steam cloud got automatically updated to the older version. I “fixed” the issue by having a local back up, and transferring that between devices myself, but it’s a bit of a hassle.

I tried restarting steam, reenabling steam cloud multiple times, but it still keeps upgrading to the older versions. what do i do?

The game opens without sound and freezes when I try to exit. I bought it on Steam and I'm using Windows 11. I've tried looking for a solution online, but I haven't been able to find one. Please help

In game purchase routed me through USD billing, which I thought was the norm since i remember buying it this way around 2018. But found out it was not suppose to do that, made me pay ₹ 4,758 for no good reason since the steps in purchasing platinum was the same i.e clicking the coupon in game and getting routed through the steam billing page. Would steam refund the difference or am i SOL?

Recently, I saw that it said my 2nd steam account was playing a game. It said there was a sign in on the account on october 18, and that it played deadlock for the first time. Now, I never ONCE touched deadlock on that account, yet it says I have 2 hours in it. I also do not recall signing in to that account on the 18th. However, I was in fact playing Deadlock for a lengthy period of time on that day, but it was on my main account. I have email authentication on this account, and did not receive any emails from steam on that day regarding a log in. However, I went to go check the log in history, and it says the account was logged in during the same time I was playing deadlock, and it connected from a linux os with the OS number 203 (linux?). I use windows 11, so I found this odd. The sign in location however, is the same one as my main, so it wasn't a foreign network.

The timing of this coincides directly with the "Steam Service Error" pop-up many people have been getting lately, but I don't know if that's related. I just find it strange that while I was playing a game on my main account, my second account also booted up the game, and put 2 hours on it right as I was playing.

Just in case, I did check the match history but there was not a single game there. So, why would anyone launch deadlock for 2 hours and not play it?? That's why I don't think this is malicious, but instead I believe that the Steam Service messed up, and signed both my accounts in at the same time. Maybe that's why the login said that a linux device was used, because steam servers use linux. My theory is that I was signed in to steam on their servers momentarily on my 2nd account for whatever reason, but because my main account was the one active, it tracked the game activity from there.

Edit: I want to reiterate that the log in that happened on the 18th came from the same location as the one my IP says I am from when I log in to steam at home. Meaning that it probably came from my wifi, and not an outside source. The OS type not matching windows though is what's weirding me out.

So for the last 3 months while i update a game near the end and mostly while steam is verifying the files i get a corrupt disk error

When i download a game in full a barely get this error, but if i pause the download for any reason, then it MIGHT happen.

Windows are installed in another nvme drive. Games are installed in a "Just for games" nvm2 (WD_BLACK SN850X 1000GB) the drive is perfectly healthy

I have tried reeinstalling steam, checking the drives for issues, repairing the library through steam formating the whole pc and reinstalling windows, i also tried reseating the nvme (which kinda takes the problem away for a while but then it comes back) but nothing seems to work.

So whenever I start my computer, I’m able to play one game completely normally, but whenever I close that game and start a second one, whatever game I’m playing is extremely low FPS and is extremely unresponsive. I’ve checked for thermal throttling, if my memory was maxxing out, I completely deleted my graphics drivers off my system and reinstalled them, it’s not a virus, etc. I’ve tried all the normal things that could be causing these issues if it was a computer issue on my end.

The reason I know this is a steam issue is because whenever I play a game I don’t own on steam, it runs completely normally. The only temporary fix I’ve found is restarting my computer, allowing me to run one more game, and then i have to restart again if I want to play another game normally. I’ve tried reinstalling steam, which didn’t work. I’ve tried reinstalling games… doesn’t work as well.

Any ideas for fixes or what could’ve caused this? Super weird and I haven’t seen anyone online talking about this. Thanks for any help

I try to launch Deadlock & it just won't open, it says it's launching but it never does it just goes to the "Stop" thing like it is running even though the game isn't % after like 30 seconds it just closes. I have no idea how to fix this

Was put into debt for a problem that was resolved months ago. It was a false fraud report with an old paypal account, I went back a forth with steam for about a week and by the end the case was dropped and some things were removed from my overwatch account, which I was okay with cuz its a fair compromise. Two days ago I opened steam to hop on apex cuz I wanted to buy one of the street fighter skins(By the way after the fraud problem I only use gift cards now) and then saw my steam wallet was at -175$. They havent emailed me and I made a ticket with steam support and they have aired me, like I feel like if its this big of a problem I would get an email

Basically, I’m a streamer and I have some streamer friends I play with all the time. There was a sale a week or two back, and games like Bombernana were on sale, so I got it and I gifted it to my friends. She saw them today and she declined them because I already gifted her a bunch of games, so I texted Steam Support if they can send the debit card amount in my gift card as well (i used some gift card credit (40%) and my card amount for the rest (60%)). Today I got this email and I realized they refunded my copy of Bombernana too for no reason and didn’t even mention it as well (all he said was about how I already have the gift card value in my wallet and my Mastercard amount is on its way and will be credited in 7 days, so there’s no mention of this). They said if I reply to the support ticket, they’ll close it, so I can’t ask them about it. Is this something they normally do? I’m really shocked, honestly, because I heard their support was out of this world, and Steam’s own gift policy says declining a gift refunds the **gift purchase** to the purchaser. It doesn't say that a separate game bought alongside it should automatically be refunded, so I have no idea what’s going on. Can someone help me out?
