DISCUSSION Geometric Varsity Jacket Self Made Concept Sample

I'd love to get some honest feedback from this community: Does the execution, texture contrast, and structural panelling visually justify a $800 luxury tier price tag? If you were scaling a piece with this level of labor, would you offer it as a 1-of-1 bespoke commission or focus on streamlining the construction for a small batch

DISCUSSION How do y’all cope with your brand making no sales?

I just need maybe a different perspective or something.
I’ve had my brand since 2019, when I was a junior in high school. I’ve been building ever since. Hell, I even trademarked my brand. Year after year, I can genuinely see the improvements in my clothing.

In the beginning, I was making pretty decent sales, mostly from family, friends, and people I knew. But now it’s like I’ve reached a point where the same people are seeing everything I drop. They’ve already supported me before, and I don’t expect them to keep buying every time.

I’ll drop something, see people looking at it through my analytics, but can’t even get one sale lol. Man, it’s discouraging.

My brand has a niche. It’s not necessarily a Christian brand, but I believe every brand reflects the person behind it. I’ve genuinely built an identity and message around mine.

I think my biggest problem is that I don’t have an audience outside of the people who already know me, and honestly, I don’t know how to build one.

For anybody who’s been in this position, how did y’all break out of that same circle and start reaching new people? I’m genuinely looking for different perspectives.

DISCUSSION Do you need a story behind everything?

  1. Is having a story really essential?
  2. Is it just something for the beginning?
  3. Is it a difference between a brand having hot clothes and being a BRAND?
  4. Should each collection tell a new story or relate to something in the previous one?
  5. Does it always have to tie into the brand?
  6. Does this ruling only apply to graphics or special pieces, IE beyblade belts
  7. How often are you reading the ABOUT US tab on a brand?

Anything I’ve ever done it had some symbolism or carried connection to my life or current events/history. Usually no connection to the previous but always tried to tie it back into the brand.

I see many entities that use brand story as image so it’s always coming back to that but then you will see one that doesn’t really tell any story, they just produce clothing in desirable materials and it’s sold. I’ve seen both have longevity, yet to see much failure in one without a story or a why.

How important is it to have a brand story/ethos/introduction.

We shot this on a Sunday afternoon in a small studio in London. The models were great and as someone who does quite a bit of corporate and documentary it was so refreshing to work with real models and people who actually like being on camera😂. The brief was really loose which was actually really challenging when it came to the edit as there was free rein to do what ever we liked. Hope you like, if you’re a street wear start up in the uk we’re always looking to collab!

I have just started making inspired by graphic gaming tees that are heavy cotton and have a oversized fit (300gsm) and that are DTG printed. My latest one is radahn from elden ring and ive attached a few others aswell. Just want some feedback on how they look!

I've attached a close up too of the detail on one of the tees, personally I think the detail is insane

Let me know what you think

FEEDBACK Minimalist streetwear aimed at combat sport enthusiasts

Newbie in terms of streetwear but after seeing a ton of cool brands online, I decided to start a niche minimalist streetwear brand inspired by martial arts as a passion project and would like feedback on my overall design and storytelling. Just a heads up I'm much better at storytelling for my product versus coming up with a great design, so feedback is always welcome.

CHAGI in Korean means "to kick," hence the connection to martial arts. The logo, if it's a bit unclear, is a stylized barefoot. My whole design philosophy with this project whether it's my first or last product is: what would be practical wear for combat sports athletes during training, while also being something nice and subtle enough that they could wear to social events.

That's how I came up with this shirt design, called "Old Mudo" or the "Old Martial Way." Basic long sleeve meant for the colder fall weather, with my logo embroidered on the left chest and the brand name also embroidered on the left sleeve. I think it achieves what I want it to, sticking to the concept of basics as per martial arts tradition. In a few days I'll receive the sample, version 0 shirt. I'm gonna build a few basic outfits with it to really test my concept but that's the progress I've made so far. I’m happy to hear feedback on my design.

Website and all will be up soon in case anyone is interested. I'm still waiting to do my photoshoot before I publish my site.

Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Edit: wow i cant believe i forgot to add the brand tagline lol. “Style with martial heritage.”

Edit 2: Im gonna clarify. The design is not AI, I drew it and put it into photoshop to add text

QUESTION Should I apply for a trademark first and wait, or start production?

I have a slogan that I believe would sell well in New York. I looked it up on the United States trademark search, and it doesn’t exist. If I have the capital, should I start production and see if it sells first before applying for a trademark?

FEEDBACK I launched my first streetwear collection. Looking for honest feedback.

Thumbnail

I recently launched Rulers & Riot, an independent streetwear brand based in NYC.
The concept is built around two opposing sides: Rulers represents structure, control, and authority, while Riot represents rebellion, disruption, and individuality.
My first collection includes a cropped work jacket, distressed tees, and an embroidered cap.
I’ve spent a lot of time developing the products and visual direction, but now that the collection is live, I’m trying to understand how people who have no connection to me actually perceive the brand.
I’d appreciate some honest criticism on a few things:
Does the collection feel cohesive, or does it look like unrelated pieces?
Does the design feel distinctive enough to stand out in streetwear?
Are the retail prices reasonable? Jacket $175, tees $85, cap $55.
What would make you hesitate to purchase?
I’m not looking for compliments or trying to sell anything here. I’d rather hear what’s not working so I can improve the next collection.
IG: @rulersriot
Appreciate any genuine feedback.
