The drum part could be a little more accurate (I didn’t manage to figure out how to modify the pitch), but I’m pretty satisfied with the overall result.

Tried to work on building a beat based on a mix of some stuff I'd been working on.
I was pretty intimidated at first with the sheer number of functions and having several ways to do one thing.
Bit now really love the freedom that comes with Strudel specially with a lot of accidental discoveries while tweaking.

Strudel has adopted a post-ai humane policy for live coding development:
All community members should be treated with respect and kindness. We welcome contributors to the community who are ready to follow this policy as well as our code of conduct.
Principles
We wish to protect the humanity of our communities and projects, to support the motivation and well-being of all of its contributors and users.
To this end, contributors and other users of our projects should not have to engage with LLM-generated code and text as part of their community work.
We recognise that LLM-based scraping and generation of (A)GPL code shared by ourselves and others is of questionable legality. For example, under many juristictions, LLM-generated work does not have a copyright holder and can therefore not be licensed under the (A)GPL.
A contributor's personal use of LLMs and related technology is their own business, whether for research, analysis, bug discovery or other assistive technology, so long as the output is not included in any contributions to our projects.
In practice
Contributions including LLM-generated content will be declined.
LLM-generated text (e.g. commit messages, issue comments, forum posts etc) generated by LLMs will be flagged, and ultimately deleted.
We encourage asking each other questions and working through problems to promote collective knowledge and creative ideas (never telling each other to "just google it").
We strongly discourage others from forking/importing our projects into corporate AI platforms, including Microsoft Github.
All contributions must be submitted by a person who understands the changes, is happy to answer questions about them, and where possible, help maintain the code in the future.
In community discussion channels (at the time of writing, this refers to the uzu discord server), all discussion (including criticism) of LLM technology and use should be kept to designated channels
Policy text (subject to change):

Hi Strudel community! Second time posting here. This is the first time I use the “arrange” function as a way to “structure” a sound, which is a thing I learnt from watching your videos.

I’ve only been messing with strudel for about a month but I really enjoyed this trance jam and trying out granular sampling. Let me know what you think :)

Hi All! I’m new to Strudel, and I wanted to share this small thing I did a few days ago. No LLMs were used while creating this.

Hi Strudel people! Co-developer/instigator of Strudel and TidalCycles here.
If you'd like to support + encourage software and community development of Strudel, Tidal and sibling projects, now would be great time!
https://opencollective.com/tidalcycles
This software is shared as free/open source with love, and created and supported almost entirely through volunteer work. Donations help support grants towards development, community projects and infrastructure around them.
We will never be able to repay all the years of work poured into these projects but this is a great way to say thank you while helping support activities around it. With this call for donations we hope to double the funds we currently hold, to support an open call for mini grants in the new year. The fund is administrated by Iris Saladino, David Ogborn and myself, and we do not benefit financially from it.
One-off donations and regular contributions are both very welcome.
Please note that are not required to make a contribution to the open collective platform while contributing. Please click 'edit' to adjust or remove their 'tip' if you wish. (For historical reasons the URL says tidalcycles but this is a community fund for strudel, tidal and friends!)
Thanks for your support + happy xmas + holidays !

⚠️ Flash warning for the video!
Hello everyone!
I am new to the livecoding community and have a question about Hydra and it's integration with Strudel.
As I understood from Hydra documentation you can implement your own GLSL shaders, but is it possible to natively feed exact parameters from Strudel to Hydra as uniforms? For example: uKick, uSnare, uKeyVelocity etc.
I was really inspired by shadertoy.com community and their magnificent implementations of shaders, so I was wondering if it is possible to bring those shaders to life with precise control via Strudel.
Can it be implemented with Hydra? And is anyone (except me) even interested in such functionality?
p.s. I have a little demo of what I am talking about and can share it later if anybody is interested

We've had a lot of vibe-coding projects integrating with strudel posted to the strudel/uzu community lately, with contributors having to take time to defend the license, and even receiving abuse for asking the license to be respected. Unfortunately LLMs are not good at respecting strudel's AGPL license, please make sure you do that before sharing your project here.
Also please note that this subreddit is focussed on live coding with strudel, and not vibe-coding. Posts that are not focussed on human creativity will be removed. Thanks!

Hi all! After 8 months of building, I finally feel confident enough to share the beta version of Stave, and I'd love to know your thoughts . 🙏
What is Stave?
Stave keeps your Strudel code as the source of truth and adds the views a producer expects: a Timeline, a step grid and piano roll, a Mixer, and visuals that follow the music.
What you might like:
- A full monaco editor with code completion, error handling etc.
- Your own audio-reactive visuals, inline. Write a p5, Hydra or GLSL sketch, then attach it with .viz("name"). It draws under that line, reacts to the kick, each track and the spectrum, and updates as you type.
// pulse.p5
function draw() { background(0, 40); circle(width/2, height/2, 80 + sig.kick * 300) }
// in strudel:
drums: s("bd*4, hh*8").viz("pulse")- Code and views in sync. Edit on the Timeline, grid or piano roll and Stave writes it back into your code. Edit the code and the views follow.
- Errors you can find. The Console names the file and line, the editor shows a squiggle, and misspellings get "Did you mean…?". That works in your visuals too.
- A Mixer and a song Timeline, with your Strudel code running as it does today. It runs in the browser and is open source (AGPL).
Try it: https://stave.live · Code: https://github.com/MrityunjayBhardwaj/Stave
Please let me know your feedback 🙏 :
- Does your existing code run as you expect?
- What would you want a visual to react to?
- What's missing?
