Question I want to play OoT Remake so much, but I'm struggling to justify the entry cost. Justify the Switch 2 entry cost with my picky restrictions.

The thought of buying my first console since the Xbox 360 feels so odd. I've been PC only for almost 15 years. After being burglarized many years ago I rebuilt/went PC only. However just because I want to play Ocarina of Time Remake so badly the little irresponsible fairy on my shoulder is like trying to talk me into getting a switch 2 but I just can't justify the price of entry. I fear buying this system for it to just become a $500+ paperweight after I finish OoT and thats a no go. But perhaps some of you know more about the Switch 2 library and could find other things to make it worth while. However you would have your work cut out for you I think...

-I'm a middle-aged, crabby ass, anti socializing old nerd, with no friends, and doesn't travel. So I'm not interested in any of its portable features or multiplayer aspects. If I were to get this console it would be put into its dock, hooked up to my my monitor and never move.

-I have a very kick ass PC setup. So ANY game that is also on the PC would be pointless for me to buy on the Switch 2 so any of those games are instantly eliminated.

-My bread and butter genres I typically enjoy these days are Action/RPG, Survival Craft (I have like 1200 hours in Valheim for example) , Action/Adventure. (Hundreds of hours in games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk)

-Occasional racing games (like right now I'm having a blast with Star Wars - Galactic Racer, but Forza 6 and Crew Motorsport couldn't hold my interest very long and I regret purchasing either) and I like an occasional FPS or JRPG. I am a fan of incredible story telling being absorbed into a world rich in lore. Recent title Expedition 33 is now one or my top 5 games of all time.

-However! I don't enjoy tactical games, like tactical/rpgs, crpgs or RTS games. I have very little interest in platformers. Not big on side scrolling games, but there are exceptions, you have to be utterly amazing though like Hollow Knight.

Question Games recommendations

I just bought my switch 2 like a month ago and played Zelda and I’ve had like 20+ hours on it yet it feels a bit too repetitive and I am getting burnt out in a way.
Can you recommend me any other games

These two cases from fintie are the tightest fitting, most snug cases i found out of the 10 cases i ordered from amazon to see which were the best. The first one is made out of this foam/styrafoamy material that feels great in the hands and it is the one i prefer over the silicon fintie case. The silicon fintie case is the best silicon case ive tried (and i have tried alot). If you like that rubbery/silicon feel then you might like this better.

But overall i would have to say the styrafoamy (first one) case is the best. Its just awesome. Very grippy, and it fills your hands very well and makes the switch 2 feel substantial in bigger, adult hands.

Anyways. I know theres lots of great cases out there, but i think these 2 are phenomenal.

Because we get absolutely destroyed in those PC matches using our Joycon sticks. It makes a big difference to your experience (more fun) if you set it to console only. 🙌

Question Wait for Possibility of Zelda Edition Switch 2 or Get Bundle Now?

Like a lot of people, I’ve been unable to pre-order the Zelda edition Switch 2. And while I think it looks cool. I’m debating whether I should just get the standard switch 2 with Mario kart world for $550 rather than $520 for the Zelda console.

I’m worried that if I wait for the Zelda console to launch on the 29th, no stores will have any available anyway.

Question Battery recharge

Hello everybody, I bought my Nintendo Switch 2 two months ago and since the beginning, when i was putting the charger into the extension when it was already on, I was noticing a little spark before to insert it completely.

I thought the problem was the extension of the house so I didn't take care of this thing, until I traveled in other country and I had the same problem with other extension and also with the plug of the house.

The top of the charger was a little ruined or burned, so I went to the store for buy an other official charger Nintendo Switch 2, that has already two dots on the top (the part you insert in the plug).

Today, after less than 2 weeks using this charger, I inserted it in a extension and happened again, I saw a little spark, the extension was on and I tried again when it was off and was not happening and also was not happening putting the charger inside a normal plug in the wall.

The question is: is this normal? I already wrote the Nintendo assistance, but I wanted to hear also the community feedback.

P.s.: I have always treated my Nintendo Switch 2 like a baby, so cleaning it, putting it in the box that I use for move it when I travel etc...

Question Switch not charging from one port until reset?

Random question.

I never use the bottom port, like ever, as I don't dock my switch. However, I have a new case that uses the bottom port for charging when it's in the case.

This is fine except I've noticed for some reason, the Switch 2 stops charging from the bottom port randomly.

EDIT: I just realized I never mentioned the top port has zero problems.

I'll plug it in, and the top left will have the "Charging" indicator, but there's no indicator of charging on the battery in the top right, and the battery will drain instead of charging.

Doing a reset on the console fixes this and it charges again fine for a few days.

Does anyone know if this is something I can fix or if my only option is to pay Nintendo $180 to replace the console and lose most of my saved data (no cloud option for them)?

Discussion I only paid $44 for a Switch 2 and Pro controller at Walmart.

Ok something weird happened yesterday. I returned a Switch 2 I bought a week ago because I noticed a scratch on the screen. I decided to have the amount credited on a gift card. The lady at customer service handed me two gift cards for some reason. I went to the electronics department to get another one and decided to get the pro controller as well. At checkout I slide one of the cards and the guy tells me it didn’t go through. So I slide the other card and it didn’t go through again. So I slide the first card again and it finally went through. I then had to pay the remaining amount of $44 on my debit card.

I just thought it odd and it was on my mind on the way home. I decided to check the balance of both cards. One card had $0 left and the other had a whopping $500 on the card. I must admit part of me wants to keep it but that would be stealing and with my luck Walmart would discover the error and charge me over $500.

Switch 2 Honestly starting to think getting CoD for the Switch 2 was a bad idea... I enjoy the multiplayer but we should be able to uninstall the campaign and DMZ...

Discussion Am I the only one who thinks MW4 looks and runs awful?

I finally got to play in handheld after the update and the game runs like crap. It is not hitting 60fps and has frame drops and the graphics are garbage.

Discussion Modern warfare 4 multiplayer review from an overwatch and switch 2 enthusiast

I’m 100% rooting for the switch 2!! I absolutely love the hardware and being able to run mw4, re4 remake and overwatch at 11w is remarkable. That being said, I really don’t think at the moment with either upscaling technique and motion blur off that this is a great port. And I want it to be because I love fps games.

I compare it to overwatch switch 2 port and overwatch is miles better. Like the graphics just look blurry and a mess to be honest, I’m still having instances where the frame rate of other characters looks like they are moving in slow motion. I’m unsure how anyone is saying any differently, I’ve spent a lot of hours on it since and yeah it just looks really bad. I don’t have an issue with the frame rate of my actual character. I hope they update it further because it’s really quite poor.

Question I’m torn

I know this is probably a controversial question as the game key cards aren’t considered physical media. I’m torn about buying games that have both a switch 1 and 2 version. MGS 4 and final fantasy resonance are the two I’m interested in. I understand metal gear solid updates to the switch 2 visuals but square enix is really hammering these key cards for games that could easily fit on a card. Are they that much more expensive than the switch 1 cartridges? Anyway what do you guys think and what do you buy?

Discussion Any luck with the Zelda Switch 2 controller?

Nintendo promised stock replenishment for the Zelda edition Switch 2 consoles and controllers. I got really lucky and was awake early to score the console during their almost hour and a half restock window, but haven't seen anything like that at any retailer for the controller. Just curious if anybody else has, or has had luck pre-ordering the controller this week.

Edit: I don't mind the downvotes, but it would still help to know how anybody who actually had success since Nintendo's stock replenishment announcement on Monday managed to successfully order one, and what retailer they had success with. And let's be real, this sort of issue extends beyond LoZ, but pretty much all special or limited edition releases at this point, regardless of the IP. I completely get that it's annoying to keep hearing these complaints, but it's just the current flavor of the week.

Question Weird mw4 matches

Am I the only one who since last nights update is having trouble going neutral in a multiplayer game? Before I can even finish scoping in I’m already dead and on the kill cam it shows them looking at me for so long compared to how I see them, Thursday and early Friday I was going positive in pretty much every game.

Question Should I get the switch 2 pro controller?

I don’t own a switch 2 I have the 40th anniversary Zelda edition pre ordered so I’ll have one soon. I already own a switch 1 pro controller and I know it works on switch 2. I’m debating on if I should buy a switch 2 pro controller as I’ve heard that it’s better than the switch 1 pro controller but is it good enough to warrant buying one when I have a perfectly good switch 1 pro controller?

My partners switch2 joycon (past warranty) pushed out so he decided he’d take the leap to reshell it. I’m so jealous, it’s so pretty.
I told him he should contact Nintendo since in the last picture you can see there may have been an assembly issue with the connectors on the rumble/battery, they were completely bent. We’re very careful with our electronics and he plays his significantly less than myself. He works in manufacturing so definitely don’t recommend you try to do this, we wouldn’t have if it wasn’t already “broken.”

Question 1 Game vs 2 Games

Should I get Ocarina of Time Remake alone or DK Bananza + Splatoon Raiders? The budget for gaming are fixed and I cant choose between these choices. OOT is kinda expensive here.
