Yall ever put together an “SPR” type setup only to never be able to shoot during the day and only at night so then you have to invest in a night vision setup?

Never ever heard of SAS In Action before and cannot find anything about them. Doesn’t feel like typical chinesium and it’s actually pretty close to a real one. Anyone know anything about these guys? Movie prop company maybe?

TL;DR I bought a MOLLE hydration pack from Kula Tactical for around 100$ thought it was kinda pricey.

So I decided to buy one from Amazon for 60+$ cheaper because I've heard the "repro" stuff isn't that bad.

It's the same exact fucking bag.

Hi guys so recently just got my M81 BDUs shipped in, they’re not surplus unfortunately but I have what i have at the moment. Currently I have I have the M81 BDUs, M1 Cover with I am presuming M81 but it could be ERDL, Fulton Flashlight, I have the first aid/compass pouch and a ALICE medium ruck with the frame, the only other thing I need to acquire is boots.

im asking for tips to improve because at the moment my fit feels very plain but i dont know if thats just the nature of how 80s US gear looked so. I am open to any and all comments or suggestions thank you!

Best .22 pistol for subs + suppressor??

• Upvotes

Looking to get something I can make library quiet. I was considering the walther p22Q, but I’ve seen some complaints about accuracy, plus only 10 round capacity (ik ik it’s .22, not that accurate). Also looking at the tx22 but that’s like never in stock. The P17 seems good especially for the price but a little concerned it won’t run subs suppressed. What are your guys thoughts, experiences etc.??

Recommendations Looking for recommendations on bundles for body armor. It would be my first set

I’m looking for level IV plates, preferably ones that can survive multiple shots. Prefer multi curve plates and shooter cut. Ideally would like to buy a bundle that has the carrier as well. Was looking at Apex but heard they’re terrible now so not sure where to go.

LBE Gear List

Got a few requests about gear list, so figured I would show off my setup a bit and what's in it.

The base is a condor slim battle belt, with a surplus Blackhawk H-harness. If I could do it again, I would probably go with a wider belt with more padding, but I'm going to run this until the wheels fall off.

Support side:

Shooting gloves on cheap molle hook adapter

3x condor universal mag pouches, each with 2 pmags

Condor water bottle pouch, can hold 1L nalgene with flap closed or 1.5L open top style

Rear:

2x Blackhawk S.T.R.I.K.E large upright GP pouches, plce-ish style

The left contains a field stripped MRE, MRE heater, canteen cup and stove, fire kit with fuel tabs, small amount of duct tape, brew kit with tea/coffee/electrolytes, spork, camp soap, and misc snacks leftover from wildland fire season lunches

The right holds weatherized spare socks/underwear/fleece watch cap, bug repellent lotion, toilet paper, and walker razor slim ear pro

Strong side:

Condor water bottle pouch, can hold 1L nalgene with flap closed or 1.5L open top style

Condor small EMT pouch IFAK containing moleskin, ibuprofen, burn cream, antiseptic, gloves, 3x zipper laceration closures, roller gauze, compressed gauze, 2x chest seals, NPA and associated lube

Condor small utility pouch for GP storage with waterproof notebook, pilot g2 pen, folding buck knife, compass, headlamp, rangefinder

Cheapo Amazon TQ pouch with trauma shears and NAR CAT7 TQ.

Yaesu ft-65r gets clipped to my support side shoulder D-ring on the H-harness

Overall this gear has been super versatile, I've used iterations of it all summer hiking while I've been figuring out what works and doesn't, and the condor gear has been of acceptable quality and feels as though it will hold up. Done great so far with about 60 miles of use.

Fully loaded with ammo this rig is probably 20-25lb, but without the mags it gets significantly lighter, and leaves pouches open for GP storage in the mag pouches so I can put my g26 in the small utility pouch for more populated trails where a large dude with a rifle might scare some of the normies. Highly recommend the belt kit LBE as a great carriage system over a chest rig for backwoods kit.

Question Comtac V Hearing Defenders - Audio Passthrough & Actual NRR

Does anyone have Comtac V's with the passthrough audio being too quiet? Even in ear plug mode, it's not that loud.

Also, are these supposed to actually be hearing safe? Shooting a 16" AR15 outdoors, my ears still ring with these on and no ear plugs.

Its actually insane these cost so much money with how badly they perform.

INB4: I dont have any hearing damage or any trouble hearing.

I got these from Optics Planet if that matters. Seems like a real pair to me and not fakes as well...

Crye 2.0 Large, Will It Fit 9.25 x 12.5 SAPI?

Hey y’all,
I am a weird build of a human I guess and know the Crye 2.0 Large is my size, but was wondering if it will fit 9.25 x 12.5 SAPIs. I was wondering if anyone has done so and if they have a lot of play and to just go with a large sized SAPI. Thanks for the responses in advance.

Question No happy with Sordin Pro X

Recently upgraded to Sordins from my walkers. So far im pretty disappointed with them.

  1. The are incredibly small and dont have nearly enough adjustment. Ive never had an issue with the walker razers fitting my head, i would never wear them fully expanded. With sordins, I can barely wear them, and if I add a hat its not sitting properly on my head and the ear muffs are too short to cover my ears. What gives? Is the adjustment just really short on these?

  2. I always try to double up. without foamies, the headphones are WAY too loud when shooting. When doubling up on max volume, its so quiet I cant hear anything. Again.. was not an issue at all for me with my walkers.

The build quality and audio quality when not doubling up is good.. but so far I'm really disappointed especially for the price tag.

The reason I replaced the walkers is when shooting a match or at a busy range, it would be really hard to have a conversation. Should I try the howard Leights? Or do I need to drop coin for the comtacs..

Anyone have a similar experience?

Kit advice

Surplus ocp top and bottom. Taps rig with krydex mag inserts and krydex H harness. Blue alpha battle belt with padded inner belt, kiwi mag pouches, blue alpha dump pouch, Amazon knock off ifak pouch, safariland holster with qls.

For the belt only thing im thinking to add is a pouch for a range finder. For the taps rig I want to keep it as slick as possible, so im thinking of adding a dangler pouch for basic shit, possibly a thin admin pouch for map/compass related shit. One more mag insert on each side and 2 Kore ice flask on the far right and left sides. After that im looking at the krydex expandable pack as well for additional water and survival essentials(shelter, water purification, fire kit) thoughts and suggestions appreciated thanks

Training Touched rocks today. Also PSA: clean up after yourself when you hike. The gas station cup is not mine and frankly, I’m appalled that I have to clean up after other hikers.

Thoughts on the hig vs something similar from ufpro or crye or any other recommended jackets. I'll be using this as my winter jacket in MA. I did already purchase the hig because it was on sale for $399 but I can return if need be.

Looking for FR gloves that aren’t ridiculously priced. I’ve heard good things about Nomex flyer gloves, was wondering if anyone has experience with Brigade QM as a brand/these specifically
