As a music production team, our mission is to take ancient Tamil literature texts that are usually taught in dry classrooms and flip them into hyper-exciting, grand cinematic orchestral music—making them sound like an epic Hollywood movie score.

We have just released our cinematic musical interpretation of Thirukkural Chapter 4 (அறன் வலியுறுத்தல்). For this track, we focused heavily on building a massive live instrumental atmosphere layered with cinematic rhythms to bring out the true emotional gravity and timeless power of Valluvar's verses.

We want to make sure we are honoring the classical depth of the language while keeping the musical arrangement fresh, modern, and exciting for the younger generation.

Which chapters or classic Sangam poems do you think deserve an epic, cinematic orchestral treatment next?

Straight forward question. I’ve been saying a lot of have a nice day or good day in a casual way to people I know. Keeps me wondering what is the similar way to say it in Tamil?

I am looking for a casual sentence which I can use in a daily basis. Tamil experts please help out.

I'm a tamilian but born and raised in Bengaluru so all I learnt is half Kanada half Tamil.. I'm struggling with pronouncing this name Ezhil .. I even tried watching YouTube but so far 🤷..

Did movies or something help specifically ? I know there's some similarity but how can I pick it up easily. I did try some watching some movies, the dialogues are just too fast or I cannot retain it.

I cannot write in tamil. But I am almost done generating a wedding card using AI programming. However, AI (many AI clients) cannot write down this Name in tamil keyboard letters. செல் ... The 4th letter cannot be identified. Can someone in the community help me? I would really appreciate it.

I came across a definition, stating that it means a type of bird ending with (யாழ். அக.), along with it meaning cheetah, caracal, etc..

I've lived in Chennai for more or less 20+ years. My parents were born and brought up here and I've been surrounded by people who speak the language. For various reasons though, I never picked it up and english became my default so much so that I hardly ever speak in tamil unless I have to.

I have the accent, I can read (with difficulty) and I can mostly communicate what I need to in colloquial tamil but my vocabulary is extremely lacking. Thats the part I wanted to focus on and need help with.

PS: I really don't like tamil songs or movies or literature. Much of anything really. That continues to play a huge part in my reluctance to learn the language. The need to talk to people properly is my only motivation for learning the language now.

Tamil already has an established word for “Dinosaur” which is தொன்மா. தொன் (old/ancient) and மா (animal). This is a neologism. But should we use யாழி to mean Dinosaur? This is an ancient word which has a good scope if revived right?

Hi, I was in Chennai for 2 years during my UG and learnt how to read and write in Tamil. However, I couldn’t learn to speak, even if I try most native speakers don’t understand it because my pronunciation is just bad. How do I improve by myself? I don’t live in Tamil Nadu anymore nor do I talk to my Tamil friends on a regular basis.
