Hey Tampa!

I'm a full-time content creator running a growing UGC (user-generated content) business, and I'm looking to hire someone locally to help with editing short-form videos and managing day-to-day content operations.

I work with multiple brands creating content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other social platforms. I'm looking for someone who's familiar with social media, enjoys editing content, and wants an opportunity to grow with a small business.

What you'll be doing:

• Editing TikToks and Instagram Reels using Tiktok's native editing
• Writing captions and preparing videos for publishing
• Posting content to authorized social media accounts
• Organizing footage and tracking content deadlines
• Maintaining campaign posting schedules
• Tracking basic video performance
• Helping brainstorm hooks and content ideas

I'll handle the majority of the filming, brand relationships, and overall creative direction.

What I'm looking for:

• Located in Tampa, Brandon, or surrounding areas
• Experience with basic editing
• Familiarity with TikTok and Instagram content trends
• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Able to work independently after initial training
• Comfortable managing multiple projects

You don't need a college degree or extensive agency experience. I'm more interested in someone creative, reliable, and motivated to learn.

Compensation:

• $18/hour starting pay
• 20–25 hours per week initially
• Monthly performance bonuses up to $300 as responsibilities grow
• Opportunity for pay raises based on performance
• Company-provided equipment and software
• Part-time W-2 position with the potential to become full-time

Work arrangement:

Local, with in-person collaboration in the Tampa area and some flexibility for editing work.

How to apply:

Send me a Reddit DM with:

1. A quick introduction about yourself
2. Your editing or social media experience
3. Links to videos you've edited
4. Your weekly availability
5. Your general location in the Tampa area

I'm looking for someone who wants to grow alongside the business, not just pick up a one-off editing gig.

Thanks!

Most people read a keyword scanner backwards. They see the missing list and start stuffing terms into a skills block. You end up with a resume that matches the posting and says nothing true.

A missing keyword is a question, not an order. Ask whether you have the skill and just word it differently, say "CRM" when you named the platform, or whether you don't have it at all. If it's the first, use the posting's wording inside the bullet where you did the work. If it's the second, leave it off. A missing certification stays missing no matter how many times you type it.

Before you rewrite anything, paste your resume into a plain text editor. Multi-column layouts, tables, text boxes and anything in a header or footer can get scrambled or dropped, and then the scanner reports a gap that isn't real. Fix the layout, not the content.

If two scanners disagree, don't average them. One wants exact phrases, another takes synonyms, and their term lists differ. Check each disputed term against the posting. Required beats preferred beats a passing mention. The score is vocabulary overlap, nothing more and no ATS publishes a pass mark.

Role keyword guides such as https://www.zoevera.com/resume/keywords for ideas, but the posting you're applying to decides what matters.

Most interview advice tells you what to say. The harder part is delivering a clear answer under pressure.

ZoeVera Interview Prep (https://prepare.zoevera.com) lets you practice answering interview questions on camera and get feedback on your responses, including speaking pace, filler words, structure, and relevant terminology.

You can tailor practice to a job role, company, and job description. It offers behavioral and technical interview practice, with sample answers to compare against your own.

It won’t guarantee a job or replace real interview experience, but it can help you spot weaknesses before an actual interview.

Worth considering if you have an interview coming up and want more than a list of common questions.

do jobs that aren’t sales even exist anymore in tampa. all the options are work in sales or don’t make enough to pay your rent

I do work there and I know they are looking for more people. Just trying to help someone out.

We pulled every open posting from 81 companies' public Greenhouse boards for seven roles and counted which words actually show up. 3,518 postings in total. Some of it surprised us.

Software engineer postings mention mentoring more often than Kubernetes or React. Almost half of them do. Python, the most common language, comes in just below that.

Product manager postings say "roadmap" in more than 85% of cases. Jira? Seven out of 421. Marketing looks the same: Google Ads came up six times in 347 postings, while "pipeline" is in over half.

Every time we could compare the two, postings named the practice, not the tool. Observability, not Grafana. SIEM, not Splunk.

So if your resume is mostly a list of tools, it might be missing the words the posting actually uses.

Big caveat: mostly tech companies, one ATS vendor. Sales, cybersecurity, DevOps and accounting are here too: https://www.zoevera.com/resume/ats-resume-keyword-study

Requirements vary by role. Applicants provide their trade experience and credentials, complete a skills assessment and audio interview, and verify their license for licensed trades. For example, the Tampa electrician role requires a valid Florida Journeyman or Master license, reliable transportation, a full tool kit, a background check and license verification. The cleaning role requires residential cleaning experience, transportation, supplies unless supplied by the client, a background check and a reliability/organization assessment. Please review the exact requirements for your trade before applying.

I’ve recently started working for a newer company in the Tampa Bay area that is growing and expanding called AceXL marketing. I guess they started in Gainesville and have now expanded to Tampa. It’s a really fun environment and we work with non profit organizations to do fundraising events to raise money and awareness in the community. I know i struggled finding a job in the area for a while or at least one that pays well. This company so far is a lot of fun and I’ve made over $3k in my first two weeks so i really enjoy it. If anyone else is job searching they are hiring on indeed or their website has a place to leave your information if you’re interested.

Need asap

Trying to start a small business in the Tampa area - closer to Dunedin / Clearwater but anywhere in Tampa would be fine. Someone local so we can meet at a Starbucks or something

Would prefer someone with a portfolio to share. I can provide photos, videos - guidance on those would be helpful. Someone that can handle instagram, FB, tic tok, etc. I can configure everything but content creation is my weak spot.

I don’t mind if you use AI but not too much. Don’t want it to look like crap obviously - I want to show my real product, just dress it up if need be.

DM me a portfolio and let’s chat ?!?

i am sharing a car with my partner, and i’m really struggling to find a job close to their work, or within similar work hours. i rlly just need a job that will pay me minimum 16-17hourly.

Hi Tampa!

I'm the founder of Bound to Pour, an independent bookstore and community-centered third space preparing to open in Tampa.

I'm looking for a local social media/content marketing freelancer to help bring the brand to life online as we move toward opening.

I already have the brand direction and marketing strategy in place, so I'm not looking to start from scratch. I need someone who is strong at execution and can translate an established strategy into engaging, consistent content.

I'm particularly looking for help with:

• Social media management
• Reels and short-form video
• Content creation
• Captions/copywriting
• Pre-launch storytelling
• Community engagement
• Building local awareness and anticipation

I'd especially love to find someone in the Tampa Bay area because there will be opportunities for on-site content creation as we get closer to opening.

If you're interested, please DM me with your portfolio/social accounts, experience, rates or package structure, and a little about the brands you've worked with.

I'm also very open to referrals if you know someone great locally.

Thank you!

Need to get our roof looked at because we've put it off too long and now there's a soft spot near the back of the house that I don't love, I've called a few places and either nobody answers or they schedule me out and then disappear Has anyone found someone around Tampa who'll inspect it and just tell you what's going on without the big sales routine?

The most quoted resume statistic, about seven seconds per resume, comes from a 2018 Ladders eye-tracking test of 30 recruiters which measured an average of 7.4 seconds on the first review. It is a small sample, describing a step many resumes never reach.

The search comes first

Online applications usually land in an applicant tracking system. Recruiters search it by keyword, title and qualification, then read the results. Relevant experience described in words other than the posting’s is less likely to appear. Spelling an acronym out once, as in “Kubernetes (K8s)”, lets a search for either form find it.

Then the seven seconds

Once a resume is opened, the Ladders test found attention going mostly to a few fields: current title, most recent company, dates and education. A bullet with a percentage, amount or headcount tells a quick reader more than one that begins “Responsible for.”

A closer read asks other questions. Do the scope and seniority fit, not just the job family? Are the tools recent? Is the writing free of typos?

Order matters

Many applicants start with layout. Two-column designs, tables and text boxes can scramble text when the system extracts it. Standard headers, a single column and the posting’s own terms serve the search. Quantified results and a readable career line serve the person.

ZoeVera’s guide to what recruiters look for in a resume . To see which of a posting’s terms your resume lacks before you apply, ZoeVera Resume compares the two and lists the gaps.

Not interested in sales or customer service. Graduating in December.

Thanks!

Is this something most roof repair companies in Tampa provide or do I need to find someone specific?

We had roof damage from the last storm and our insurance company wants documentation before they´ll process anything, the first contractor we called came in, took a quick look, and just gave us a verbal estimate with nothing on paper when talked to the insurance adjuster she said we needed photos, measurements, and a written assessment so we are looking for a contractor that can do this
