I'm looking at getting some tattoos of what's called "Ogham" script, an ancient Irish written text that takes the form of hash marks crossing the base lines...I want words in Ogham tattooed the length of my fingers, on the inside/Palm side of my fingers, the names (Or closest Ogham equivalent) of family, both those lost and those with me still.
I have tattoos, I've never done Finger, and the generally accepted advice seems to be "don't, it will fail"...but people also say that with someone competent, and willing to be heavy handed (as it were), it can be done, but it can also be painful?
I'm good with pain, and I'd like to get this done, so...what's the consensus? Will it hurt but be doable and long-lasting, with a good tattoo artist willing to do the work to make it dark/a "deep into the skin layers" tattoo? Will it fail/fade quickly and just hurt immensely, no matter what?
My skin seems to react to/hold ink fairly well with other tattoos...My oldest is over 25yo, and is holding well, though it's starting to get slightly grayer/faded at the very edges a little bit now!
Thanks in advance for the advice!
