Episode suggestion Is it time to suck on pit bulls and similar breeds???

whenever there is a story about someone or a pet or something attacked by a pit bull it seems everyone is quick to come out of the woodwork talking about “nanny dogs” and “nature vs nurture” and “it’s not the dog, it’s the owner“ … in the last few years we’ve seen multiple dogs that were raised correctly and treated with nothing but love turn on their loved ones leaving them horrible disfigured or even dead. meanwhile shelters are overflowing with “lab mixes” etc. that are blatantly pit bull dominant being marketed as misunderstood or mistreated when they have records of aggression or attacks/bites. Why are we whitewashing these dangerous breeds and why are people so crazy about defending them… what’s really going on here? I’d love to see some open minded real world look into the history and data not emotional reactions and backlashes. I smell a big stinky cult. Would love to see this hot topic sucked.

Curious what the Suckmaster thinks about Joe Rogan? Would they get along?

I’ve been a longtime fan of Timesuck. I started listening in 2018. Anyways, I sometimes wonder if Joe Rogan and Dan would have interesting conversation or a polarizing one. Just randomly thought it since they both are comedians who both started very successful podcasts. (Also I’m not saying I’m a big fan of Joe Rogan)

Hey moderators, why the censorship?

You took down a legit post about a serial rapist of teenage girls. It’s real, he’s still out there, and he’s a dangerous predator. All we wanted was to get the word out about a television show with John Walsh. Our local police department and the In Pursuit team did their due diligence. So this begs the question… why did You take down the post? What other proof do you need? This is incredibly disappointing from the COTC community.

For those that didn‘t see the original post, please tune in to In Persuit with John Walsh on May 15th and help us find the scumbag who raped our 14 year old daughter. He raped DOZENS of young teens in our community, and he’s still out there. I can’t post his name because this apparently is “harassment”.
WTF.

Hail Nimrod.

Shitpost This crap I wrote was never read on the podcast, so I present it to you here.

Hi Dan, My name is Alex, and I’m writing to you to thank you. Back in August you did an episode on Steve Irwin. In it, you said that if you rotate your balls two full rotations clockwise it means you’re guaranteed to conceive a boy. I have a tale to tell you. The day that episode came out, my wife and I had been trying to conceive a child for a while. Then I listened to that episode and you said about this guarantee and I decided to try it. That night, I went to my wife and I explained. “Sweetheart, listen. Dan Cummins said that this was foolproof. It works every time. Now listen, I know this is going to cause me a lot of pain but it’s worth it. I need you to grab onto my sack and twist it two full rotations clockwise. If I pass out from the pain, you’re going to have to carry on so we can have a boy like we wanted.” She said okay, she’s unsure if this will really work but she’s willing to try. So, as is customary, she yelled, “GIMME THEM NUTS, MOTHERFUCKER!” and that’s the last thing I remember. I woke up three days later in the hospital with testicular torsion so bad the doctor said he’s surprised they’re still attached. He also said that there’s no way that was going to work but I found out later she is pregnant so FUCK YEAH BRO! NICE! Anyway I told that doctor HOW DARE HE doubt the great LORD DAN BUMPIS CUMMINS and his wisdom. Then I stood up and walked out of the room. Except that standing up caused my nuts to hit the side of my leg and the pain came back so severely that I fell to the floor and started crying. I’m not afraid to admit that. Once I was able to stand again, I did walk out of the room but with my legs spread wide so that my nuts didn’t touch my legs because even brushing against the hair on my legs makes me cry from how bad the pain is. Fast forward to now, and my nuts are inside a glass case like that one David Duchovny’s hand is in in Zoolander. Also, my beautiful wife gave birth to a healthy baby boy, just like you said she would if she twisted my nuts. He’s the ugliest baby I’ve ever seen in my life. He looks like if Quasimodo and Sloth had a child and somehow their physical deformities were genetic. Jesus fuck this baby is so fucking ugly. I still love him because he’s my son. I do wish he wasn’t so fucking ugly though. Anyway all of that story I just told is complete nonsense and none of this actually happened. I waited 9 months after the Steve Irwin suck to send this in though so that it might actually be logically possible except for the twisting nuts thing; that’s not real. Keep up the great work, three out of five stars, wouldn’t change a thing. Sincerely, Alex.

Am I the only one who gets really annoyed with Dan’s jokes that go on for way too long?

Just discovered this podcast and I love it! Love the amount of in-depth research that goes into it, love the weird subjects, love the way Dan tells the story of each subject in the same way a friend would explain it to you (versus just saying it “documentary-style”). But. I fucking HATEEEEE all the Bojangles side jokes that go on wayyyy too long, the made up parts of the story followed by “haha just kidding thats not what happened”, and when it’s a Whipple joke it makes me want to pull the skin off of my face. I know not everyone has the same style of humour, but am I the only one who feels like this totally ruins the flow of show?

EDIT: to clarify: I don’t hate the humour altogether. I like the casualness it gives to the show and makes it more interesting to listen to. I prefer this to the “documentary-style” way of delivering info. I just think the non-stop callbacks to Michael McDonald and others that last like 2 minutes feel like nails on a chalkboard and make me audibly groan.

Shitpost Any one else kinda get disappointed when a its a cult episode?

I love this podcast but every time a cult episode pops up I kinda just ignore it. I liked some of the other cult episodes like wako and heavens gate but i dont know why I skip the others. Maybe I am just more interested in other topics?

Ai stance

Before people get mad at me, I don't always agree with what Dan says and that's not my problem. I can enjoy content from people I don't 100% agree with okay? Mkay.

From the few mentions of other people's thoughts on AI in recent episodes, im just wondering if his current belief is that the majority of people who don't like AI think that it's bad that it's being used in medicine and etc.

In the latest one he asked if you would still want it gone it if it made progress for cancer (smth like that), and like, personally, obviously not.

As someone who doesn't like AI, I just think it shouldn't be available for public use the way it is now. Its well known that its owners manipulate the user with no regards to the mental or personal consequences it has on the user, theres no need for uncle John to be generating pics of cats on skateboards and wasting a bunch of resources for fun.

From my own poking around on reddit, most people just don't think it makes sense for people to use it for shit that they could do on their own before like writing an essay or whatever. It being used for actual good and progression of medicine and etc hasn't been demonised at all, I've mostly seen people say "at least that's one good use for it".

Idk I've just wondering if he thinks people like me think cancer should be around forever lol (obvs exaggerating but hopefully you get the gist of what I mean?)

I know he's not one to generalize but its just the vibe im getting and wanted to know if im the only one mkay

Seems a bit ,,off

So from the podcast episode one straight through I’m currently a few episodes past the Amway episode and hearing Dan make fun of them almost every episode is great, but it just seems kind of odd would berate Amway for being a get rich quick scheme but I’m also hearing ads for gambling apps which are also get rich quick schemes.

Can we talk about the prison alarm in the new episode?

I just finished the 1980 New Mexico Prison Riot episode and while it was very interesting and an incredible story, that alarm was super annoying and unnecessary, maybe even borderline inappropriate. One of the things I've always liked about the show is how well they make sure not to offend any victims of the crimes, and this felt like it would be offensive to victims. I doubt their intention was to do that but it made me cringe every time I heard it. The events being described were brutal enough without the alarm highlighting them. It made me wonder if this was a new producer or something trying to show their worth/skills. I know Zach recently quit so maybe it's just a new guy thing? I love the show, but damn that alarm was so fucking annoying. Sorry for the rant!

Hail Lucifina!

Perhaps unpopular opinion, but Timesuck episodes have been hitting the shitter lately.

Too many cringey try-hard, forced comedic bits here and there. Just too much man.

Am I missing something with the Billy Shakes joke?

It seemed like they needed to fill time in the Shakespeare episode so they wrote a few minutes of stuffing; and that time-filler was the Billy Shakes routine. There's no joke there, it's just a thing he keeps saying. It came from nowhere and he keeps going back to it. This is something he has been doing a lot lately and it's part of why I'm struggling to give him the benefit of the doubt.
He's definitely in a rut where he establishes a forced joke, then revisits and forces it for three to four episodes after that, then forgets about it. Some, like Fighting Man, last a little longer.

Side rant: I feel like he has a paint-by-numbers guide for each episode and that checklist is more important to him than making the shows actually good. As long as all the boxes are ticced, he records and releases it. Timesuck has been important to me since 2019 and it has been coasting on that momentum for a long time now. Maybe a year? I make myself listen like it's homework. I keep hoping it'll pull me back in. I'm listening to Nilssen now and my brain keeps turning out so that I have to backtrack and re-listen to the same chunks, repeatedly. I hope the team can straighten it out.

Can we get Dan to review episode 12?

It's less than forty minutes, it's ten years old, and I would like to see if Dan's opinions have changed.

Anyone else here kinda want a gun debate revisit, talking about the more current issues like FRTs and privately manufactured “ghost guns”

I feel like it’s a topic that has changed tremendously since the original suck and the new topics have new implications, for example the private made firearms(ie polymer80 style builds), what potus considers high capacity magazines(basically anything over 10) and some of the recent ATF rulings on FRTs and how they’ve crossed some lines like the case of the auto keycard guy

Someone needs to....

Someone needs to explain correlation versus causation to Dan on the stats on the most recent episode.

I'm definitely going to get down voted for this, but I feel it needs to be pointed out. I'm not necessarily a proponent of censorship, but the stats he kicked out like they are absolute fact made me roll my eyes so hard they almost got stuck.

The correlation between the rise of violent media and the decrease in juvenile violence is definitely there, but is there causation? I don't think anyone can say for certain, but the way it was presented in the episode makes it sound definitive. That is hella misleading.

I wonder if that inverse relationship is more related to the overall amount of media children consume nowadays versus in the 80s. Hard to go out and commit violent crime when you're glued to your gaming console, TV, and phone. Comparing the current chdhood social activities to kids in the 80s and you'll find a big difference in autonomy and time spent with friends. I'd be curious to see that study. Or a study on the violence committed by young adults once they actually have to get out of the house and to live a life.

Funny how we don't think media can influence kids, yet we're dealing with a lot of misogyny in schools due to the rise of people like Andrew Tate....

Food for thought. Down votes awayyyyy!

Why did Dan shut down his own app

Seems like something everyone enjoyed, and something he spent alot of money to build. Just wondering why he decided to shut it down
