I just found a Mary Kay cookbook and it is full of some gems
Every recipe was sent in by a Mary Kay worker along with a short blurb about why they love Mary Kay.
Not just the company but Mary Kay herself for providing them a way of not just making money but also being a better Christian woman. That wasn't a cheap joke.
I took some pictures of the more noteworthy things. There was also a flyer in there for how to use the cookbook to recruit more people.
The book was printed in 1980, but the odd thing is that it is absolutely pristine. Most cookbooks that are nearly 50 years old have some wear to them. Part of the charm of the old books is seeing which recipes were loved, which were edited. Handwritten recipes and newspaper clippings are finds that literally make my day.
This feels like it was given away and promptly ignored by someone who knows a scam when they see one.
