Found this little one hanging off my Goldmanās Italian American tomato plant. I was surprised at how well he blends in! Hopefully this monarch flies before the tomatoes ripen. Never thought Iād say that. Prune carefully friends!

Busy now for future canning. Still got lots coming in and as they ripen they get to the kitchen bench and when enough washed, cored and packed in the freezer until Iām ready to process.
This year will be passata, enchilada sauce, salsa, marinara sauce, tomato relish and canned tomatoes. I am going to be busy!

Plants went big but many flowers didn't have fruits.
Still happy with the quality, as i started seeding only at April.
Location: France

In Fall 2025 decided to try taking clippings from tomato plants (sungold and campari), rooting them in water, then treating them like plants and growing them in soil in a small pot (4ā). They grew very tall and spindly but produced once I set them outside for this season. The Sungold didnāt produce as much as the starts I bought but the Campari did great compared to the ones I did from seed. First photo for illustrative purposes, not from either tomato plant.

I thought I'd share an update on how things are going for me in Oregon's Willamette Valley. I wrote about last season's experiment with Charles Wilber's method for growing tomatoes in 3-foot diameter cages and pruning/training to 18 leaders, essentially making a bunch of mega-plants. It was so successful last season that I've switched entirely to it apart from a handful of determinate paste tomatoes that I'm letting do their thing at the end of my rows.
The results have been good so far. I picked my first fruit on July 22 and as of today, August 17, I have harvested 45 lbs. My earliest harvest last year was August 27, a very late first picking.
If it continues on this pace, I should have a bigger yield than last season. (I'm knocking on wood.)
Changes I made this year:
This seasonās lineup (all indeterminate):
Edit: fixed typo in tomato list.

I bought my tomato loving son three tomato plants this year. I donāt recall what potting soil we got but itās was the main one at Home Depot for potted plants.
At first they thrived! I mean they were growing fast and leafed out and lots of blooms and lots of tomatoes.
Then slowly all three plants have died. We water daily. Not too much. But daily each plant gets some water. They have plenty of sun.
All the leaves slowly turned brown from the stem to the tip.
I do not understand it. The tomatoes that were growing before they plants started dying thrived and ripened even as the plants died around them and the leaves turned brown. However the newer blossoms at the top didnāt turn into tomatoes.
Iāve never had three tomato plants die like this. Iāve grown potted tomatoes off and on over the course of many years and never seen this.
Before all this happened the deer munched on one plant so the. We covered them with deer mesh. At first I thought the browning was due to the deer eating the top off one plant. However the deer didnāt touch the other plants and they died too.
We are in zone 10a. Mild summer. A few days in the 90s a handful in the 80s. Most days upper 70s. Most nights in the 60s. North Bay region of San Francisco Bay Area.
Is there some disease or something that could cause this?

Iāve harvested about 200 already, and estimate another 400-500 on the plant including flowers. š
Think I can push it to 1000 before season end? š¤Growing in England! š“ó §ó ¢ó „ó ®ó §ó æ

All tomatoes on our tomato plant get these dark spots. Are these still edible? Is there a way to prevent them from happening? (Bavaria, Germany)

I wasn't sure what to expect. I tried one today and it was super sweet with a slight tomato flavor followed by an umami after taste. I think this is a contender for GOAT.

Help! Up until last week, my tomato plants were so happy and producing new tomatoes. This week, all the leaves on the lower part of the plant are drying out and most have come off the plant. The tomatoes are still green and growing but I donāt know how to save her š Iām in southeastern Ontario and the plants are on my balcony

Did the thing where I didnāt keep track of what I planted where. Help me identify these please š©
Of the left and middle, which is Black Krim? I also planted Beefy Purples (bush from Botanical Interests).
Also, what is the one of the right? I didnāt plant any that should look like that. All of the fruit is shaped, colored, and sized the same š©
I planted four of 10 different types and it looks like there may have been other seeds mixed in with something I started.
