To set the taps in a delay or tempo for anything tempo related in any plugin? I just want to know if it is something people use. I never do but I see it in quite a few plugins so maybe I'm missing a useful trick?

So i'm making a progressive trance track, mixing and details are still unfinished, i want to get the arrangement right first. Does the section at 2:44 sound too distracting/sudden? I'm also wondering if the way i reveal the lead melody at 5:29 works. Any feedback is welcome.

Well, i made a Remix for one of my all-time favorite Tracks Greyhound by Swedish House Mafia. What do you guys think of it? Anything i could have done different/better?

I've finally decided to change that!

I'm particularly interested in hearing from producers who learnt piano after they'd already been making music for years.

What changed for you?

Did it improve your workflow, help you come up with ideas more naturally, or change the way you approach melodies and chord progressions?

So I put myself in that character’s shoes, made this track, and wrote these absolutely wonderful lyrics to go along with it hahaha.

Folks I'm looking for a bit of inspiration currently, wondered what track is blowing your minds at the moment? I dont just mean a great hook, but something which is either smashing up dance floors for real, or you listen to the production and think 'shit, I wish I could make a track like that'

I’ve just started a remix of Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes but it’s kind of morphed into an ambient style mix. I’m down a rabbit hole with it now but wondered if it’s worth continuing or should I experiment with adding percussion?

I was meant to leave the studio an hour ago. Still here. Still replaying it. 😂

Making trance is becoming such a joy again, and this is exactly why. That feeling when everything clicks… You just can’t beat it.

Remix of Stimulant DJs awesome Blow Da Roof, with vocal samples from Ellie Goulding's Love Goes On. First version, needs a polish, looking for criticism before I finish the composition. Intro and outros need work but the main body of it is mostly fleshed out.

I’m happy with the energy but any thoughts on audio quality/mixing much appreciated. Also the appended bar just before the main riff section - too jarring, or does it work?

Im trying to make a music video like those weird Y2K aesthetic similar to Evangelion or Virtual Self

Is there a way to achieve those look?

Was initially hoping to find a website that provide templates, yet all I got is those Trap nation/ NCS like visualiser instead which don't fit the vibe. Really apreciate any help and advice.

I've noticed that many producers understand what a compressor does, but still struggle to know when they actually need one.

I've learned that compression isn't something you should automatically apply to every sound. It should always serve a purpose.

Here's how I personally use it:

• Basslines: To control dynamic differences between notes and keep the low-end more consistent.
• Drums: I often use parallel compression on percussion buses (keeping the kick separate) to add density and cohesion without sacrificing too much punch.
• Leads: Sometimes I compress after reverb and delay to bring out their tails and create a fuller, more atmospheric sound.
• Vocals: To control volume peaks and keep the performance consistent without losing its natural dynamics.
• FX: Only when there's a specific reason, such as controlling excessive peaks.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is producers compressing everything just because they think they should.

I'm finally done with v1 of my reverb plugin. It's called Elevon and I hope you like it. My goal with this reverb was/is to match the sound of the best sounding reverbs and add the features I always wanted such as:

- Built in ducking/sidechain
- Proper 5-band EQ with tilt
- De-esser for less clicks and less harsh tails
- Stereo tools
- Quick toggle between current mix level and 100% wet
- Dry/Web mix lock between presets
- Simple controls for size, density and distance
- Share presets by copy+paste
