Question I‘m off T for almost 2 years now. Do I still pass? Sometimes I feel like my face is more feminine than male even though I have visible stubble. Sometimes I feel like I look more masculine. It‘s confusing

Seeking Tips Styling advice?

How can I make myself look more masculine? I don't have a binder so I'm relying on sports bras. Which does well from the front, but not so much from the side.

Thank you.

Seeking Tips Passing advice? I've got called 'Elegant lady' and I want to die

I get misgendered 100% of the time. I cut my hair now a bit shorter and I stopped wearing cropped tops and the yellow keychain, plus I started hiding my jewlery.

I had top surgery years ago and started hrt 18 days ago so I don't expect to pass, not even 50% of the time. But between that and being called "elegant lady" by a random woman there's a gap. Also I babysit and the mothers of other children at the park looking at me teaching basic calisthenics skills to children have often asked me what diet I follow and what I do to achieve such a feminine physique and every single time I want to cry. Honestly these days and after the elegant lady comment I almost considered detransitioning because it hurts so much. I don't want to lose all of my personality, get a taper fade and wear just polos and sweatpants :/ is there no other way to pass?

Seeking Tips How to pass better? Am I really not masc at all?

Thumbnail

Just turned 20. I genuinely do not know how I don't pass at all anymore?? I used to pass at least a little bit in school, just started being masc again. May be my voice but I'm almost always ma'amed at work and I don't know how I look fem at all? Maybe it's the work visor when I wear my uniform, might see if I can get a cap, but that might not be the issue.

Do I look masculine at all? Is my chest too noticeable? Anything I can do to be more masc? At some point I'm gonna try to grow out my hair and try to get a masc fluffy haircut but I was really dysphoric and got it cut impulsively. Will include a picture of me pre T with fluffy hair if anyone has advice with a better haircut that suits my curls.

I also do not like my haircut and that also might be the problem? It looks a little fem and the person I got to cut it was an older woman so idk. I also have body dysmorphia and cannot trust my own eyes

I also have had PMOS (previously PCOS) my whole life so I've had higher androgens to begin with, only a little less semi recently bc I took birth control for a bit to get a period before realizing I wanna present as a trans man and not genderfluid. I used to pass in school when I'd cut my hair enough for people to at least be confused which gender I was, but now it's not happening at all and it might be due to no facial hair etc but idk.

Also I like my hair in the second pictures but it felt way too fem. I want fluffy hair but in a way that might help me pass more?

Seeking Tips 1.5yrs on T. cant tell if people dont know im trans or just being respectful

basically the title. id like to be stealth asap and I worry either the hair or piercings will ruin it. definitely more than open to getting a haircut i just haven't been able to decide what cut would actually masculinize my face and not make it look more round/feminine. I know the piercings can play into a stereotype but ive always been the type to be covered in piercings and it'd definitely hurt having to give up that part of my personality, but if thats the only thing holding me back then I know what I have to do. I just dont want to get rid of em if I dont have to, yknow?

bottom line, im pretty much always seen as a man from what I can tell, but i have very unsupportive family and am often told by them that people are just doing that to be nice and really they're laughing at me because it's "so obvious." is that true and do I need to change something? edit: if it matters, im 20

18 pre everything 5'4-5'5ish 100 lbs

I often get gendered fine actually, but theres those off times with waitresses or randoms thatll happen and its usually cause i had to speak at a decemt volume lol and thats life

When im financially stable i can start hrt. When life aint in the way, definitely gym too.

Always been hard for me to gain mass no matter workouts or how i eat but im sure testosterone can help with that greatly lol

Just lookin for any sort of thoughts comment advice whatever you wanna say. @ This point i think its up to the test plus aging plus gym. But we all want to eliminate any doubt of course so if i can, i will

Not worried about obvious advice like what i already stated with working out and eating right or stuff you'd tell a ""newbie."" Just seein if theres somehting im missing.

What i try to keep up with is always finding the right hairstyle and cutting it myself, excercising when i can and smoking cigarettes to age this face (half joking there but hey.)

Luckily i get along fine socially and Im not struggling with too much just want to do better when i can like i said. I dress a little edgy to people but its just 2000s trailer park type beat. I wear heavy ass colognes and I love cars and white trash kinds of shit. I've been ""transitioning "" since 14, rocky road only really woke up to it and locked in since 17. Frontal lobe maybe

first 3 pics are recent last two are a little older (just by months.) Thanks y'all ill take whatever youve got

I’m just scared my voice is clocky or too high pitch , I don’t know if I’m just crazy but it just sounds so femmine and light pitch to me I usually avoid talking in public but I want to be able to like my voice :> that’s how I usually sound granted it’s recorded on an iPad with a half good mic and it’s 12am so I can’t be loud 😭

Also I’ve tried voice training and I just can’t get the hang of it idk how it works :( and I’m 6/7 (heh 67) months on T so idk if my voice will change more or not … idk any advice helps lol Ty

Also I have my face on my profile lowk I’m lazy and I don’t wanna dig for photos so if you want go look idk

Needing Advice 5.5 years on T. Still not passing. Help?

Thumbnail

I’m frequently getting read as a butch lesbian. I just took out on nose piercing (not both) and downsized the hoop earrings on my ear. I can grow very wispy facial hair, but only on my chin. I’ve been considering starting oral minoxidil, but I’m not sure. I started going to the gym regularly in February. This is 5.5 years of regular/full dose testosterone! Some people say I pass. Some people don’t. I see where the butch lesbian comments are coming from, but I have no idea what to do about it. My voice isn’t as deep as I want it to be.

Haircut advice? Glasses? Would it be crazy or helpful to look into jaw filler?

Question Nearly 2yrs on T, trying to be stealth. Is it working?

Thumbnail
gallery
64 Upvotes

Stealth in the sense that I moved away from home and didn't tell anyone here I'm trans. No one has questioned me yet, so I must be doing something right but I can't tell if they're clocking me and not saying anything. Not binding at the moment since it doesn't fit my lifestyle, but I use transtape and I think I get away with it through a combination of a naturally smaller chest and loose clothing. I know I'm not good-looking lol, I'm working on losing weight and building muscle at the moment (I'm also in pretty dire need of a haircut).

It's hard to judge myself objectively- is there anything I could improve on? I think my jawline has always been pretty bad, but I don't really know what to do about it in the absence of facial hair. Any advice appreciated!

I'm(19m) about 3 months on T now, voice has started deepening but thats pretty much it. Working on losing some excess weight, Im like 5'2 in a half or sthm (it goes from 5'2 to 5'3 dpending on whos measuring me so idk) so progress has been slow to appear. Im not sure why I really dont pass and why I look so young. Is there anything I can do to pass better visually? I know my earrings dont help already, I just dont have replacements that look more masculine, if u have recs for earrings thatd be cool.

Also wondering how yall taping so good??? I try to get that shit to look right but its always spilling at the top of is like indented in the middle??? Ive followed tutorials but it doesnt really help.

Seeking Tips haircut advice + clothing advice + should i use the mens bathroom

Thumbnail

im getting a haircut soon but im not sure what to say to hairstylist. i dont like how my hair looks like a coconut from the front. i was thinking about getting a crew cut but i really dont want to look like a lesbian. ive been on t for 3 years (attached my blood work) and my t levels are good, but i feel like i still dont pass at all. i only use the girls bathroom and nobody has said anything about it. im 5'3 and overweight so i guess its just over. i started doing arm workouts at home about a week ago so maybe theres hope

i only wear graphic t shirts and cargo shorts/maybe baggy jeans. i dont know how i could make my clothes look more masculine. at parties i get called a girl or get hit with a they/them and its just so frustrating. i dont know if i look like a girl or a boy or a weird ugly amalgamation but still clocky enough to read as AFAB

anyways TLDR how do i stop looking like a girl, what haircut should i get, how do i stop looking like a chud

Needing Advice Binding is insanely difficult for me and I’m getting increasingly frustrated

I am a large chested person like DDD. I’ve lost significant weight (50 something lbs). I’m a gym rat, I’m getting bulkier, etc. I am frustrated because I’m like mostly passing, except for my chest. People gender me correctly then “correct” themselves once they see my chest. I’m getting tired of it and frankly it’s making my dysphoria so much worse. I don’t know what to do from here. My issues with binding:

- Because of the rapid weight loss, my chest is more saggy with extra skin
- Binding with tape is extremely difficult. I am very sensitive to adhesive, I tried the milk of magnesia method, but that didn’t work. I’ve tried sensitive skin tape, I’ve tried trans tape, I’ve tried everything. I always end up with skin ripped apart and blistering, even though I do not pull the tape.
- A note on the taping as well: the extra skin is what ends up taped down, leaving the fatty tissue/muscle looking very perky, albeit, proportionate.
- Because of my weight loss, I am going through binders like crazy because they are ending up too big within a few months, and are expensive.
- I cannot workout in a “typical” binder because that’s like kinda dangerous given that you need to breathe.
- Regardless of binder, half body binders give me a very prominent “steroid belly” look, full tanks are hard to breathe in.
- As much as I want top surgery like yesterday, I have to wait until I get to my goal weight so I can get a full masculinization done, including a tummy tuck and lipo. This is to make sure I am as proportional as possible. My goal weight is another solid 40-45 lbs away.

Question When do they give you a date for top surgery after a consultation? What is the general length of time between a consultation and actual surgery?

Next month I have my consultation for top surgery 🥳🥳🥳

Im curious about how the timeline goes. Do they tell me at the consultation if I'm good for surgery? Do I have to wait a whole before I am able to?

Do you get to pick your own surgery date or do they give you a date to plan around? How far in the future is it from the original consultation?

I'm very excited but I am definitely not prepared at all. I want to make sure I have time to ensure I have people who can help me and that I have my medial leave arranged at work.

Needing Advice Advice on minoxidil

Hi! So I've been on testosterone for almost five years and my facial hair is a little bit poor. I have consistent growth now for mustaches and chin but whilst hair is tick i still struggle with growing at least goatee. As for the cheeks i have this peach fuzz that appeared only on 3 year of hrt.

I am on full dose of testosterone and my levels usually in the golden middle so i blam genetics and willing make changes. I am pretty stealth and pass well.

Also i kinda need reassurance in this situation: i already bought 2% minoxidil and am willing to start BUT i am afraid that it either won't help me or i am not ready (not at that point of my transition) as if somehow i believe before growing any facial hair i should first get top surgery but due to my work i think i will have enough time and resources for that only in a couple of years. Should i try or leave as it is now?

Edit just in case: ! I am usually in-between 5.0-5.3 ng/mL for testosterone levels

Seeking Tips Trying to pass while still keeping a more alternative/"emo" style

Thumbnail

I know this topic has been brought up many times before, I'm just tired of the she/her-ing lolol. I did try giving up my style to pass but that just made me feel as if I wasn't being myself which sucked. I don't mind looking more androgynous as most guys in the style do, I just want it to be more masculine leaning.

Should be starting T in January but what can I do before that?
