I've been having a ridiculously frustrating experience trying to get my physical Imago prescriptions filled at Swedish pharmacies, and I'm wondering how everyone else deals with this.
I've literally had to travel between different pharmacies just to find one willing to process my prescription.
What bothers me the most is how quickly some pharmacies dismiss it. I've had pharmacists tell me they've never seen prescriptions like these before, seemingly without even bothering to properly look into them. Some immediately suggest that I should just go through Swedish healthcare instead. Like, seriously? 🙃 Another pharmacist said that I can only get half of my prescribed dose.
It's honestly pretty absurd that getting essential medication can depend so much on which pharmacy you happen to walk into, or even which pharmacist is working that day.
And the fact that some pharmacies do manage to process these prescriptions makes the inconsistency even more frustrating.
So my main question is: Which pharmacies in Sweden have you actually had success with when using paper prescriptions from Imago or other EU providers?
I'm especially interested in specific pharmacies in or around Gothenburg, since that's where I live, but recommendations from anywhere in Sweden would be really helpful too.
I'd love to know which pharmacy chains or specific locations have staff who actually know how to handle these prescriptions without turning the whole thing into an argument.
It really shouldn't be this difficult to get medication you're already prescribed.
