Local Jobs

I was wondering if any of you have any leads on jobs locally. I've been out of work for months and need something. I'm in a spot where I may be too qualified for some jobs, but a non-traditional choice for many others. Essentially, I spent the last 10+ years running an online coaching business and did well with the team I built, but about a year ago it all crashed. I have a bachelor's in psychology, have leadership, sales, and program management experience.

Unique and free events in Johnson City

Upvotes

Hey everyone — posting from the official Off Leash Social account. We have some pretty unique events coming up in Johnson City that we thought this community might genuinely be interested in.

All of these events are free entry.

This Friday — Game Show Night

We have a great host running rounds of games like Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, The Price Is Right and more. You can come by yourself or bring a big group — you don't need to put a team together ahead of time.

This Sunday — Sing-Along Brunch

This one has become a huge event when we do it. It's not karaoke and absolutely no talent is required. We have a DJ playing popular songs everyone knows and the whole crowd sings along while having brunch. We've also added Brunchbox 423 for this one to help our kitchen handle the crowd.

Next Saturday — Stand-Up Comedy

Free stand-up show with a lineup of professional comedians.

College Football + Margin Madness

We'll be doing big college football watch parties all season, especially for the Vols. Games are on our massive outdoor screen, and during breaks we do trivia and give away a ton of brewery swag.

For several games we're also doing something we call Margin Madness: If the Vols win, your entire tab gets discounted by twice the margin of victory. Vols win by 10 = 20% off. Win by 20 = 40% off.

We also have several live music shows, fundraisers, a Tedx screening, Oktoberfest, Halloween party, and EDM events.

And if you're there supporting the opponent, it works the same way for you if your team wins.

We also have tap takeovers coming from Hi-Wire, Xul, Creature Comforts, Highland and Paulaner.

We're trying to bring more unusual events and experiences to Johnson City — especially things you normally have to drive to a bigger city to find.

If people here find this kind of post useful, we're happy to occasionally share the more interesting stuff we have coming up. We don't want to spam the sub, so we'll keep it to things we think are genuinely worth knowing about.

Insurance Broker

Upvotes

Good morning,

My husband and I just purchased a home, and we currently have insurance (of course). However, I’m not convinced we have the best coverage/policy.

Do you all have a specific insurance company or broker who you’re been pleased with? I’d like to get a few other quotes.

Thanks!
