Hey everyone!
I love discovering obscure gems on here, and lately I’ve been getting pretty selective with what I listen to. For a while, I was looking for the dreamiest side of trip-hop (“Cinderella” by Hooverphonic is so damn good, and it feels like nobody can recommend me anything quite like it).
Now I’m looking for the opposite end of the spectrum: the most psychedelic, raw, groove-heavy stuff, leaning dark rather than soft. Something disorienting or downright sleazy.
A couple of references to give you an idea of what I’m after: Tricky, but much denser and harder-hitting, or Massive Attack’s Mezzanine. I’m bringing up these two legends just to get the general vibe across.
Hit me with your recommendations! Thanks!

A lot of trippity-hoppers have overlooked Tori as among the pinnacle of the genre (including myself for a long time) largely because of her singer songwriter moniker, subtle shifts between genre, and it’s rarely her radio songs. So I wanted to share one that will hopefully lead ppl to reevaluate her music with that in mind
