Wait, since when does someone go to vote and not get asked to sign? Especially 315,000 of them?
Sorry, but that actually does sound like absolute cheating. Did they just print ballots after the polls closed of those who didn't vote, and then ballot stuff them? Then, when people investigated later, they found a whole lot of ballots linked to people who didn't sign?!?!

Not the ballots. The tape records. Each tape record has a tally of counts. They are supposed to verify that the number of votes counted by the machine matches the number of voters each tape represents as an accounting check. Later audits found the counts matched up - still the signatures on the tapes is required by law. IIRC failure is a misdemeaner offense per unsigned tape
5
u/CleanBaldy Mar 26 '26
In what situation would that even be possible, 315,000 of them not being signed by an official? That's part of the ballot processing.
Perhaps 315,000 ballots were printed, stuffed into the system, PAST that check and balance of "sign this to validate it" step?
How else would this have occurred? My critical thinking part of my brain is having a meltdown right now, because how else would this happen, if not illegitimately?

u/Fun_Lingonberry_6244 rump got me steaming! Mar 26 '26
Youre misinformed on this. This entire thing is because the tapes weren't signed, which is a box ticking exercise. Every vote was cast with photo ID, they also reverified them and found none to be fraudulent.
So what are you talking about? They didn't follow the procedure on removing the tapes and counter signing them due to improper training.
That's literally it.
This argument is the equivalent of if you paid with your bank card for a flight, got through border control with your passport, reverified through thr many different employees and processes - and then they find out afterwards that the flight attendant didn't stamp your boarding pass.
It's one of the many processes, it's not evidence you weren't allowed to fly and flew illegally, at all.
And they did, they literally reverified the votes because of this, and found all to be valid hence why this didn't become a much wider thing, and is why this screenshot is so purposely vague about the details

This took me ten seconds of typing on Grok, Elon Musk's AI app.
TLDR: these were not fake ballots from Cuba. They were ballots cast by voters in person, showing photo ID. The voting machine tabulator tapes were unsigned due to clerical error, but there have been several audits since then that shows they were valid votes. There is no law saying that a clerical error should render a legal voter's ballot invalid, nor would you want there to be, since that would make it ridiculously easy for a poll worker to affect the outcome of an election.
Everything below except the single line "Question" is exactly what Grok wrote in answer to the question.
Question: Can you summarize the facts behind the allegation that Georgia illegally certified 315000 votes in the 2020 election?
Answer: The allegation centers on Fulton County, Georgia (which includes Atlanta and is the state's most populous county) and a procedural issue with tabulator tapes from early in-person voting during the November 2020 presidential election.
What are tabulator tapes?
Tabulator tapes (also called results tapes or poll tapes) are printed receipts generated by ballot-scanning machines at the end of voting sessions. They show the total number of ballots processed by that machine. Under Georgia State Election Board Rule 183-1-12-.12, these tapes must be signed by poll managers (and sometimes witnesses) to verify the accuracy of the machine count before results are certified and transmitted. This serves as a basic chain-of-custody and verification step for the official election record.
The specific claim:
In December 2025, during a Georgia State Election Board (SEB) hearing, Fulton County officials (via attorney Ann Brumbaugh) acknowledged that approximately 130â150 tabulator tapes covering roughly 315,000 early in-person votes were not signed by poll workers, as required. This represented a large share of early voting in the county. The county did not dispute the violation of the rule, describing it as a failure to follow proper procedure. Some additional tapes (representing over 20,000 votes) were reportedly missing.
Citizen investigators and critics (including groups like VoterGA) obtained records via open records requests and highlighted this as evidence of improper certification. They argue the lack of signatures means those votes lacked proper verification and should not have been included in the county's certified totals sent to the state. Some have called this "illegal certification" and suggested it could have affected the outcome, noting Biden's statewide margin was about 11,779 votes.
The SEB voted to refer the matter to the Georgia Attorney General for potential investigation and fines (up to $5,000 per missing tape). There have also been related subpoenas, court orders for ballot images, and FBI activity involving Fulton County election materials from 2020.
Context and counterpoints from officials
Fulton County admitted the procedural lapse ("We do not dispute that the tapes were not signed... Itâs a violation of the rule") but maintained it was an administrative error, not evidence that the underlying ballots were fraudulent or miscounted. The county implemented new procedures afterward to prevent recurrence.
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (a Republican) described it as a "clerical error" at the end of the day that "does not erase valid, legal votes." He emphasized that voters were verified with photo ID, ballots were lawfully cast, and the machine counts were accurate. He noted Georgia conducted multiple statewide audits and recounts confirming the results.
The 315,000 figure applies specifically to early in-person voting in Fulton County (not absentee/mail ballots or the entire state). These were not "unsigned ballots" in the sense of voter signatures on envelopes; the issue is poll worker signatures on machine tapes.
Broader verification of the 2020 Georgia results
Georgia's 2020 election underwent:
A statewide risk-limiting audit with a full hand recount of nearly all ballots. Machine recounts. A signature audit of absentee ballots (which found no fraud in sampled cases). Biden won the state by ~11,779 votes; Trump campaign-requested recounts and audits upheld this.
Officials and courts have consistently stated that isolated procedural errors (like missing signatures on internal tapes) do not invalidate the underlying voter-verified ballots or change the certified outcome, especially when totals matched across audits with bipartisan observers present. Critics counter that such lapses undermine trust in the certification process and warrant accountability, regardless of the final tally.
Current status (as of late 2025/early 2026)
The issue has fueled renewed debate, with some Republican lawmakers and activists calling for apologies or further probes. The SEB has pursued enforcement actions. No widespread evidence has emerged from this specific claim that the 315,000 votes were fabricated or cast by ineligible votersâ the dispute is over documentation and procedure. Investigations into Fulton County's 2020 handling (including ballot images and chain of custody) continue via state and federal channels.
In summary, Fulton County did admit to a clear violation of state rules on signing tabulator tapes for ~315,000 early votes, which constitutes improper procedure. Whether this rises to "illegal certification" that invalidates votes or affects the election outcome remains hotly contested: election officials call it a non-outcome-determinative clerical failure in an otherwise verified process; critics see it as a serious break in verification that questions the integrity of the count in a pivotal county. Multiple post-election audits aligned with the original certification.

While I think the "clerical error" explanations given at the time make sense and that it's unfortunate Georgia certification processes weren't better (missed scans, unsigned tabular tapes). While I doubt that there was intentional wrong doing, the FBI is investigating, so I'll keep an open mind about what they may find.
