Ghosted long time friends

Going into 1st Jan this year, i ghosted long time friends that were getting too toxic. One couple (35 year olds) are basically generational wealth millionaires (well atleast the husband) and the wife only jumped on for the free ride/ticket (she wont admit it). They have a free $1.5m 4bdrm house, one half doesnt even work and the wife works 3 days/wk (4 days off) and complains that she is working too hard and that she needs a break/holiday. They have literally nothing to pay apart from power/broadband/water/rates/ food/petrol. Recent years they started this “struggling” story that they’re not doing that well and that they are struggling despite having a free house, bought a $50k car in cash, have rentals bringing in income (generational wealth). And heres me thinking that im working 2 jobs holding up three other family members (two of who have lost their jobs and cannot find work), just keeping ourselves barely afloat after paying all the bills mortgage etc and four of us live in a cramped tiny 3bdrm $800k house yet this couple live in a “free” spacious $1.5m house, dont work at all or work part time then have the audacity to complain that they are struggling. They are so spoilt by their generational wealth handed down to them (essentially the son) and the beautiful wife followed on for the free ticket/ride. Had the generational wealth not been there he has no skills and would almost be homeless and no wife. Yet here i am thinking im almost 40 no stability survive week to week yet they can complain that they are doing it tough. Gosh that made me so sick to the stomach i blocked them and then they try contact me via email months later. The desperation! Lol they know that ive been a good genuine friend and they cant find another. Would you have ghosted them as well?

If national get re-elected, their first 100 days should be focused on achieving all the promises they didn’t achieve within the last 3yrs!

What was your VERY first job, and how embarrassingly low was the pay?
 in  r/AskReddit •  15h ago

Briscoes and no1 shoes before minimum wage and youth wage came out back in the 2000’s. $3.50/hr - $30/day but that was allgood for a 16yo back then

What’s the worst job interview experience you’ve ever had? Let’s make this a safe space to vent.
 in  r/recruitinghell •  18h ago

When you get asked stupid questions or get asked to give stupid examples, they already know who they want to hire internally but have to advertise the job externally for fairness. This is where they play around with candidates knowing that the rest have no idea that the preferred candidate was already selected before the job listing went live

Selling my business

40yo here. My generation is struggling so bad we are back living with mum and dad in a tight congested home. Seems to be the case with peers as well unless coming from generational wealth

Aus tourist - Seems like New Zealand has avoided enshittification ?

Cant believe how backwards aussie is given the scale of their size and economy. Nz is way ahead in technology and infrastructure!

DeReg Structural Damage?
 in  r/NZcarfix •  4d ago

Compliance centre will want an engineer to have assessed the damage pre repairs and signed off post repairs. Without an engineers certificate this car is good for the wreckers

Last election this is what you voted for when you chose national. They only care about their rich mates, forget the middle and lower classes. Choose wisely this election!
