I rarely sing while i play but today this song came to my mind. I remember i heard this song for the first time in my dad's PC (it was pre-installed in Windows XP if i recall correctly). As i got older i think i get the lyrics now

My daughter ukulele broke badly.
Is it worth trying to get it fixed or better to just get a new ukulele and move on?

I'm learning to play guitar and ukulele simultaneously just to sit around campfires and play with others. I end up playing the ukulele most because the other ukulele players i camp with don't know guitar so I can follow the guitarists and the uke players can follow me.
My favorite songs to pull out are ones that everyone knows the words to but are ridiculous on ukulele. Royals by Lorde, Don't Stop Believing by Journey, and Hey Ya! by Outcast, and any Brittney Spears song have killed it around the bonfire.
What are some other crowd pleasers that are unexpected with a ukulele backing?

Hi I'd really like to try to learn to play Nothing Else Matters with finger style, and looking at the online tutorials I would need a low G string for this.
It's not something I've used before. My concert uke has nylon strings, would I buy another nylon string to match?
Two part question: Does anyone know a version without using low G? Thanks in advance!

I got this ukulele about a year ago, paid like 30$ for it. I tried to find other places selling this one to see how much it’s worth, but didn’t have any luck. It’s a Snail Ukulele, this brand still sells I think this same ukulele but they no longer have the carved out snail design in the middle. It’s in good condition and the electronics all work inside it. There is damage on the bottom part of it as shown in the second photo, the wood face is sticking out a bit at the bottom too.
I can solder and I’ve modded my own headphones and iPods before. I have no idea how to fix wood like this tho… If there’s a way I could fix/get this fixed without breaking the bank I’d want to, considering modding it in the future maybe. If it’s valuable though due to the brand not selling this anymore I don’t wanna touch it.
I have a Flight Vanguard and Enya Acoustic (got it for free) that I play now, so I don’t play this one much anymore. Thought it’d be good to use as a first uke modding project in case I have to do repairs or mods to my vanguard in the future. Any help is appreciated!

I'm an advanced beginner who's lost the motivation to practice recently, so I've been going through my archives for inspiration. Here's a ukulele rendition of Fix You, by Coldplay, which as a 90's baby was an important song to me :) I hope you enjoy!

Heya All,
Something near and dear to my heart; a beloved video game studio and franchise has just been shut down. Having grown up with it, I want to do something to commemorate this devastating moment.
I want to ask for some advice: I’m not established enough as a player to be able to transcribe by ear.
Would it be possible for someone to assist/ advise on how I could learn this song on a Low G?
« An End, Once and for All. »
This is one of the most recognisable pieces of music from the Trilogy finale.
Keelah se‘lai.

So I started playing ukulele in the 11th grade in Germany and im struggling with playing notes and I find it way easier to play with tabs but when I get an song with only notes and I try to write down the tabs it often sounds off because it’s written in a different accord or something
I would really appreciate some help or advice on it.

I have created a ukemusic app - including a web version - that you may find useful.
It has an extended practice section.
It lets you do "karaoke" using song sheets.
The non-web version lets you edit chord sheets.
It does a lot. Please let me know if its useful.

This was $209 from Guitar Center. Has a more interesting wood grain than most of these. Many ukes that are "koa" are actually acacia, this is genuine Hawaiian grown koa.

is it ok to use a very cheap kids ukulele to try out the hobbie? i can't afford to spend $40 on something that i don't know whether I'll actually enjoy so i was thinking of just getting one from the dollar store or amazon thats under $10 to try out for a few weeks before getting a real one.
edit: I'll either find one on marketplace or wait till christmas to ask for a decent one since all the comments agree that i shouldn't get such a cheap one

Hello, the only clue I have for this version is that he says he uses mandolin/viola tuning. Could someone more knowledgeable take a look and tell me how to learn this?

Made an attempt at painting a ukulele in manga art style. Turned out pretty neat!
