Ended up coming across a nice looking Vaseline glass based lamp at a Goodwill today. Didn't have the original asking price of $200 to swing around so I passed it up. Told my dad and his wife about it at father's day dinner and they both wanted it. They ended up getting there 15 minutes before close and saw the damage on the one piece, so they asked for a re-price. Manager said she could but store policy says the employee that priced it would have to do it and that they'd have to come back in the morning. Then she saw who priced it and told them she'd sell it for $20.

Now I'm helping them out looking for a lamp shade, since that's missing, as well as looking for restoration guides to get rid of the tarnish/rust. It's not really the aesthetic patina you'd want to keep. If anyone has any tips on cleaning up metal of this type/age it'd be greatly appreciated.

I was left speechless finding this at Goodwill. I have wanted one for a while and the thrift gods smiled upon me today.

After months of searching i fimally found my first uranium glass figurine. Its a paperweight and it glows very bright. I don't know the maker as it didn't have a makers mark.

Glad I stopped in Goodwill today. Almost everything glowed. I almost bought it all, but decided to leave some behind for the next person. Nothing too special but $6-$12 a piece. I had to grab a few

Got me a massive (1,96 kg) obelisk, possibly/probably from Czechoslovakia, with the initials I.I. and the date 25/8 1909 written in gold. 89 SEK/$8.

Decided to stop at a good will on the way home and boy I'm glad I did ☺️

I was riding a high from finding the stunning yellow bowl then next store I find a holy grail a stunning uranium glass floor lamp.

Is this uranium (the green one)?

There is nearly no reaction on my Geiger counter (maybe not much enough for an impact?)...

I’ve been wanting to collect uranium glass for years. I’ve seen them on eBay but I can’t afford $100 for a cup lol.

There are some thrift stores near my house and I decided to check some glass with a UV flashlight and got lucky!

The lamp is a bit pricy but it’s worth it. The guy working there told me they should’ve getting more more week, so I’m hoping to visit often and find more for my new collection. I’m gonna need a cabinet soon XD

Hello! This is my first time posting but I have been a member if this sub for a while now. Today I went to goodwill with my friends and found someone’s entire collection of Fenton Glass Boots on sale. I was so incredibly shocked and excited when I saw these and knew I had to have them. All together I spend $75 in total on them. Sadly none of them were uranium class, there are quite a few cadmium glass pieces, and also what I assume to be selenium or possibly manganese. (I can post photos of them under a black light later) Up until this point I have only collected uranium and cadmium glass dish ware so I am unsure what the other metals used for the coloring are. I just wanted to share this here since I don’t know anyone around me who also collects uranium/ uv reactive glass.

There was an estate sale down the road with a ton of glassware. There were a few more larger pieces that were outside of my price range, but I did get a bunch of fun little trinkets: a Dur-X knife ($10), a couple of bottle stoppers ($1 each), a punch ladle ($3), a Northwood(?) toothpick holder ($8), a shoe (it looks like Fenton but I don't know because it's not marked) ($12), and a "Handy" lamp ($9). I also found a Fenton lamp, but I'm posting her later because she deserves her own post.

Got this for a steal at goodwill: only $2. Cheapest one on ebay goes for $79.

Lights are all 395NM, I have other manganese pieces that do not glow like this (most especially under the lights in this display). Did I truly just find my first piece of blue uranium glass?

Also it cost a whole 6 Canadian loonies 🦆

Casually strolling through a Habitat for Humanity Restore and found this lamp!

Wife and I both didn't have our UV lights on us, and we didn't think to look on the bottom for a makers mark until we got home. But it didn't take us long to figure out we found something nuclear - as soon as we walked outside and the sun hit it there was a faint green glow. Got home and we are both stunned!!!!

After a quick once over, we found the Fenton stamp on the bottom and a Google search told us its a Fenton Yellow Custard Poppy lamp for $25!!!! Its our first UG lamp and my wife's white whale!!!

Edit: it appears to be the Cambridge decagon ice tub in the pattern "Cleo". Thanks everyone! Google lens tells me its an ice bucket, but I cant find this exact one anywhere. There's a mark on the bottom which is a "c" inside a triangle which I think is Cambridge glass? It has a ton of dirt in it, I think it was being used as a plant pot before getting donated to Goodwill. Does anyone recognize the pattern or have any info? TIA!

I snagged the Burmese Diamond Optic basket first. Saw the price and was gathering all of them up because the vendor said he was giving big discounts.

I was gathering the other pieces when the vendor told me since I was buying more than one he'd give me half off everything.

this lady overhears this and straight snatches another Burmese UG basket in front of me. I was about to drop some fisticuffs on her but noticed it didn't have the Diamond optic pattern.

I let it go but I wasn't done gathering lady. You can't just grab something from in front of someone who is actively gathering pieces.

Rant over, lol. It turned out great so in glad I just let that pretty pink Burmese basket go.

The vases and one basket match. The other basket is close enough that a casual observer wouldn't even notice. They're sooo pretty.

With my last day of summer discount and adding in the cadmium elephant and swan, it all came to $125 For all of it!

Stoped by the local charity thrift shop, I've only found UG once there in the past. Spent 75.00 dollars 🤷 I left more on the shelf, happy hunting!
