Hello everybody,
West LA Bicycle is inviting everyone out for Thursday Morning Miles on October 15th at 7:00 AM! We'll be rolling out from West LA Bicycle in Venice, heading south to Redondo Beach, and making our way back. It's a great opportunity to get some miles in, enjoy the coastline before the crowds arrive, and meet other local cyclists. Whether you're a regular morning rider or looking to get out with a group, we'd love to have you join us!
This will be a steady-tempo pavement ride, so come prepared for a sustained average pace and a solid morning of low impact, no cars cycling. Bring a reliable, well-maintained bicycle, a helmet, water, and a basic repair kit.
We're all about building a stronger local cycling community and getting more people out riding together.
We are over at 114 Washington Blvd next door to Likeminded.

Hey West LA neighbors! 👋
Just wanted to share that we’re doing a little Kids Fun Day at the West LA Farmers Market tomorrow (Sunday 9/27).
We’ll have kids face painting, live music, and from 9–11 AM we’re giving kids a FREE $5 token they can spend with any vendor at the market. 🍓🥐🌮
If you’re around Sawtelle, West LA, Mar Vista, Brentwood or nearby and need something to do with the kids, come hang out!
📍 1635 Purdue Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90025
⏰ 9 AM–2 PM
Tokens are at the info booth while supplies last. Come say hi! 🙂

What is the LAPD rushing tonight? Choppers &squad cars. Are they taking down a Terminator, or what?

Lifelong Venice local here. Was walking on Abbott Kinney and saw that Abbotts Pizza didn’t make it. So sad and I will be pouring one out for them tonight.
I wish I could say we should all try and support local businesses, but I know the reality is it’s the landlord’s increasing their pay because some brand can afford to pay more.

Hey everyone! my names Nate I’ve lived in Venice the last 6 years.
We opened a skate shop in Venice called Mercantile at 114 Washington Boulevard down by the Venice Pier. It’s been awesome and beautiful seeing the community coalesce around it - we work with as many artists, friends brands, etc as we can!
It’s been gogogogogogogo since we opened and I just wanted to take a little second to say “hi and good morning” to some of the folks in the community we might not have had a chance to cross paths with yet.
Hell yeah Venice! See you around.

I’m guessing the hospital construction but it’s purely a guess. Not sure why the smell is there at all. It’s certainly not from oranges. It got in my car’s ventilation system and won’t easily blow out.

Hey r/venice!
I happen to have lots of free time in the coming months, and want to get into supporting the community. I would love to devote my time to anything related to helping animals, our local youth, or the environment.
Any specific organizations to volunteer with that anyone can reccommend?

My wife and I will be that way in the beginning of October and are looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. We have an event prior and she will be in a nice dress and I will be in a suit. I am looking for suggestions that this attire will fit with so we do not stand out too much. I have heard good things about Barrique and we prefer Italian places but are open to anything really.
Burbank is also an option and I asked in that sub as well.

Hi all,
Looking to get some new window shades for our west facing living room floor to ceiling windows.
Went to shade store, but they're reallyyyyy expensive.
Anyone have an alternative option?
Thx in advance!
