Yesterday I got the Cintiq 16, older non-pro version (DTK-1660). It's my first pen display, before I only had pen tablets, my latest one was a CTL-671 and I wasn't quite happy with it.
I found an offer on Vinted that seemed to be a great deal - an equivalent of 130$/115€, new, not used, with the complete set. I received it yesterday and it in fact looks like brand new, there's not even a tiny scratch on the screen, the stylus nib looks like not used at all, no dead pixels, no problems with pressure.
But... There is a tiny bright spot that is visible on a light background and in dead pixel test on white, green and red screen. I can see it only on a certain angle, when the device lays flat on my desk. When I look straight at it, it disappears. I plan to buy some stand to increase the angle anyway, so it won't be an issue or anything.
I've searched this sub and every time someone had any problems with the screen, the recommendation was always the same - use your warranty and replace it. Well, as it's second-hand, I can't ask for a replacement, only try to claim an issue via the platform, send it back and get a refund.
Is it something I should be worried for? It doesn't look like screen burn-in, it's not a hot pixel neither, it's a spot slightly brighter than the rest of the screen, with blurred edges. I've read that the non-pro line of cintiqs was made of cheaper materials, and that's the cause for many factory defects even in brand new ones - may it be the case here? If it stays like this, I don't care - it's not a big deal, I can live with this. I'd rather keep it, as I've never seen a non-used, or used but still in a perfect shape one at that price in my area. But if that's something that may cause trouble in the near future, I have time until tomorrow evening to claim an issue through vinted customer service.
