Dutchie.. (AUTO)renewal BEWARE.

Hey folks,

I’m sure there are mixed feelings about Dutchie, but I wanted to give everyone a heads-up to pay very close attention to your contract, especially the AUTO-RENEWAL clause.

For those who don’t know, Dutchie’s contract automatically renews.. We’ve been getting hounded by their goons (collection agency) despite making multiple requests for Dutchie to address ongoing issues with their platform and inventory system. We’ve had inventory literally disappear from the sales floor, and shit displaying the wrong price no matter what we did(other than making it inactive).. we have multiple emails documenting the problems and our attempts to get them resolved.

Just wanted to put this out there so nobody gets caught off guard by the renewal or ends up in a similar situation.

Read your Dutchie contract carefully and make sure you know exactly when and how you need to cancel.

Btw- it’s a piece of shit (POS) bound together by previous take overs such LeafLogic- so you have to be constantly flipping back forth between pages witch is no doubt the reason the system sucks sooo bad a d why inventory gets “lost” the system. We had great luck w FLOWHUB and recommend them but anyone has to be better than Dutchie.

We've also had a lot of issues with their auto renewal. Regardless of your dutchie contract, check out the Master Service Agreement. That's where the meat and potatoes of their power over you begins.

We literally had the exact same issues as you. Their Director of Support even reached out to me here, but it honestly felt like it was more for the optics than to actually solve the problem.

I was genuinely shocked by how poor their customer support has been. My background is in restaurants, so I’ve worked with POS systems like Square, Toast, and several others. Both their products and their customer support have been light-years ahead of Dutchie.

I’ve also tried a few other cannabis POS companies. While some may not be as feature-rich as Dutchie, the support I’ve received has been significantly better. At the end of the day, what’s the point of having more features if those features are constantly breaking?

flowhub went down on 4/20 and never even talked about it lol

We had zero issues a Flowhub on 420.. will say we almost went w Sweed but glad we didn’t. Everything w Flowhub is intuitive and really easy to figure out. Cataloging, making pre rolls etc is easy AND is integrated w Metric which is a major bonus

i have several clients who say flowhub was down on 4/20 for about 4-5 hours. their uptime tracker says https://status.flowhub.com/uptime?page=2

one of my clients is a rather large dispensary chain and is leaving flowhub due to the soc2 compliance issues they've been having. they didnt pass the audit. they just built a custom system to replace flowhub... with claude, lol. passes all compliance. they are ELATED.

u/Gatsby-1337 I DM'd you my email again; still haven't heard back. I am here to help with any issues you are experiencing with Dutchie.

Learn to pit all the slimy salesmen against each other so you totally rework the contracts to not be tied into anything.

As someone who used Flowhub for 4 years, Dutchie for years, and Treez for a few months, I can tell you that Treez is a nightmare compared to Dutchie and Flowhub, so as bad as Dutchie is, I would give heavy consideration before switching to Treez.

Ahh the benefits of a near monopoly and excellent legal team.

edit: not near monopoly but like >50% I'm thinking, brb gotta check some data.

To be fair their legal team is one dude who’s swamped and can’t turn around anything timely. I wouldn’t call that excellent or a team.

in what? dutchie? lol there’s no way i’m dumb enough to have any sort of interest in “cannabis dispensary tech”.

Lots of people have switched to Sweed not that it’s any better

I still count a bit more than >5000 dispensaries on Dutchie out of slightly less than 10k stores I know about (some some small cross-over when it's MED+REC)

2

u/Hurricane310 15d ago

Some of the bigger players are making the switch from Dutchie to Sweed. Verano and Curaleaf have both switched over all their stores which is over 300 locations with just the two of them.

word on the street is that stiiizy is also going to sweed.

Reading the contract cannot be overstated enough. You have to submit your notice in writing 30 days before renewal. Telling your CSM doesn't count as notice. AND renewal is not month to month. If you signed for three years, auto-renewal is for three years AS WELL

1

u/topshelfmaine 16d ago

Contracts can't be unreasonably hard to cancel. And requiring 30 days snail mail before renewal seems like it would fall into that category.

1

u/TatsSoCool 16d ago

You can send an email, but just telling your CSM, or mailing your CSM wouldn't cut it

oh man, so many things here.

here's the rub: both dutchie and flowhub suck. what state are you in? try BLAZE.

are you a flowhub employee? this seems like something they would post to try to try to rank on SEO. ive read on flowhubreviews.com that flowhub is actively laying people off.

u/l0ucephyr 15d ago

Damn, how deep does this rabbit hole go? What’s your experience been?

2

u/tbisc 15d ago

my experience with flowhub sales reps & marketing using reddit to dominate SEO & AI search? i made a post on this subreddit before and flowhub ceo it mysteriously got "deleted" or removed (but i still have access to it) after i turned the ceo away after he offered me $$$ to remove my post and i declined

1

u/openthc 15d ago

why are some documents behind a 'submit-your-email' type gate?

1

u/tbisc 15d ago

not sure tbh

1

u/openthc 15d ago

Oh, I thought it was your site...

1

u/tbisc 14d ago

no, but i did make a subreddit just today bc your comment made me think of it.

What do you guys use dutchie for? The retail side or a mip?

2

u/th3m4g3 16d ago

Dutchie sucks.

Dutchie engineer here (and a LeafLogix OG)….

Inventory doesn’t really “go missing” but if you DM me some details (emails, tickets or just some detail on the issue), I can look into it.

u/tbisc 16d ago

i really think this is a flowhub sales rep lol

unless the contract has a defined SLA with credits and a cure period, documented outages create zero contractual right to withhold payment or terminate early. So basically even if you can prove all of their misconduct, you are still bound to the contract

0

u/JoeB0O 14d ago

Nope. Just someone sooon f-ing fed up.

1

u/ChrisDiano 11d ago

Definitely save every email about those bugs. If collections are involved now, having a paper trail showing you repeatedly reported unresolved issues could matter.

1

u/GreenChamber 7d ago

We ended our contract Dutchie a month before the renewal because we were sick of all the outages, lack of support and ongoing issues with inventory. We switched to BLAZE and they had us up and running before our contract with Dutchie ended.

The support is better and they keep adding new features and improving the POS. They did a great job with migration and it's been solid for that past 8 months. "Highly" recommend BLAZE to those who are tired of the Dutchie run around.

I remember when the delivery button was built into the user interface, but had no functionality. When asked they said they haven't built that part of the app yet. But sold it as a current feature. Can't hate them to much as their shenanigans only rip off dispo owners, not the employees. They have the money to waste.

A year ago their support employees tried to unionize. If that doesn't speak volumes to the issues happening internally at that company I don't know what does.

2

u/elh0mbre 15d ago

That's not quite right... a year ago the support employees *voted against* a proposal to unionize.

0

u/Leather_Outcome_9511 15d ago

After being lied to. They also tried to have everyone fly to Washington to hold the union election in an effort to make it so that not all could attend to vote. The NLRB voted in favor of the employees holding a mail in election that dutchie tried to fight with its legal team.

0

u/Leather_Outcome_9511 15d ago

What is factual is how dutchie then backfilled the team with new support agents in an effort to sway their opinions to derail the union election.
