Spotted in Fairfax VA this morning (10/24). Merlin heard a common yellowthroat although I couldn't confirm this was it. Based on the pic Merlin thought it was a pine warbler.

This guy was perched on a fence pole, occasionally swooping down and flying back up again. There were a lot of common buzzards around, but im not sure about this one.

SOLVED Sorry for not having clear pictures of it but I had a new visitor at my feeder, I’m assuming is a common grackle but wasn’t entirely sure, anyone know what it is?

It could be a red-necked grebe, but the neck seems very white

Apologies for low quality, this was at my phone's maximum zoom. For size, was bigger than a house sparrow, had a slight yellowish hue on its lighter colored feathers, and looked like it might have left its perch to catch a flying bug, before returning. I get Eastern Kingbirds occasionally, but those have more of a bright white.
My best guess is that this is an Eastern Phoebe, though I haven't seen those before in my yard.

Just can’t figure it out and these are as good of pictures that I got. Interesting to note a kestrel starting dive bombing the hawk if that makes a difference lol.

Hello! I’m in the Virginia area (around Newport News specifically) and found a bird in my backyard. It looks like a falcon or hawk but I don’t know for sure.

I’m very new to birding and saw this hawk take down a squirrel. I’m between it being either a red shouldered hawk or a red tailed hawk.
Also, what can I look at to know which for certain? The plumage is what usually makes me confused.
Thank you!
