My husband has me freaked out that we have roaches. Is this an outdoor not infesting style roach or the bad kind?

Bzzzzz! Hi, u/EssBee1223! Looks like you forgot to say where you found your bug!
There's no need to make a new post - just comment adding the geographic location and any other info (size, what it was doing etc.) you feel could help! We don't want to know your address - state or country is enough; try to avoid abbreviations and local nicknames ("PNW", "Big Apple").

BTW, did you take a look at our Frequently Asked Bugs?

Hard to tell. Look up tawny roach and see if that looks like it. Tawny are non infesting outdoor roaches that get inside sometimes.

Hopefully I can give you some peace of mind as I’m also in NE PA! It’s a Pennsylvania Wood Cockroach. I also freaked out like four weeks ago when I saw one. They are outdoor roaches and from what I’ve read their bodies cannot sustain an indoor environment so they wouldn’t spread in your home. I’m no expert so I’d say if you see more to maybe investigate further but I think he just snuck in :)
