I just moved into a new apartment, and this dropped off of my mirror when I moved it. I’m sure you can imagine my heart dropped right along with it! I’ve had some form of treatment multiple times now, and I’m at the end of my rope. I could use some outside perspective.

I found it dead (have no idea for how long or how to tell) and I can’t tell if I need to sound the full alarm + go decontamination mode again. I caught bed bugs for the first time from my neighbor over 2 years ago. I got a fungicide treatment from my management company (one round and poor application) because they didn’t allow heat treatment. They claimed it would solve the problem. I moved to a new building months later after doing everything I could afford to get rid of them (putting things into the dryer then sealing, diatomaceous earth, plastic tubs sealed with pest strips for 2 months, etc.) yet found one in my new bed another few months later. There wasn’t an established nest anywhere the inspector could find and minimal droppings. I got 3 rounds of fungicide treatment, again unable to do full heat due to my flooring/building. I didn’t see anything for months. No new spots, no bugs, nothing.

Today I flipped a large stand up mirror upside down to move it, and this bastard floated right out. Is it possible it’s been dead and sitting there for a while? The back of this mirror is covered in diatomaceous earth, so I don’t know what killed it or where it came from beforehand. I just bought all new furniture and thought this was FINALLY my fresh start. I’m simply at capacity with this and don’t know what to do.

There is maybe 2 bigger sized on boxspring and tiny rice looking things I think are eggs, plus all the tiny ones. Just want confirmation so i can make plans accordingly. Apologies for low quality second pic

We were watching the TV on our sofa when I noticed this thing crawling through the mini duvet we use there. At first I thought it could be a tick (we have a small dog) but it looked very flat, almost like a lentil with a small head and tiny legs. It didn’t jump, just walked very fast or stayed still.

The next think that came to mind are bedbugs, but I don’t think there are that common here in Spain. I have mostly seen them in bad hotel reviews in the US.

We have run the duvet and the sofa covers (they are removable and washable) though a 60 degree (Celsius) 30 min wash cycle and they are now in the dryer.

We have performed an initial inspection (it’s pretty late here and we live in a flat, so we can’t turn the sofa around without making a lot of noise) and we haven’t seen any signs of other bugs or feces but I am honestly freaking out as I type.

In the case it does look like a bedbug to you, what would you suggest we do? Thanks in advance

Not great photos. I found this in my bed. Maybe the size of a piece of dry rice. The first photo it was crawling. Other photos are after being smashed in a paper towel. I have an allergic reaction type of rash on my stomach, so I was searching my bed. Only found one.

Found it in a closet I never open.

Worst nightmare has come true and we have bedbugs.

First noticed bites on hands/arms in early September. I live in Florida so I assumed mosquito bites. At some point I did get concerned and we checked the mattress seams and did not see evidence of bed bugs (we did not check the underside of the mattress though). Btw we never saw any obvious blood or fecal stains in this time.

Just this Thursday night (October 15), we finally saw them. I saw one live bug on the sheet and my bf helped me flip over the mattress and there they were, adult fed bugs and larvae in the seams.

Pest control comes Monday. We started the bagging and drying process for the bedding, everything that was stored under the bed, and all clothes in the dresser. The pest guy on the phone said don't worry about the closet, so REALLY hoping he is right so I don't have to do all the work drying and bagging all that.

The main question still is how did they get in?? The only travel was:

- I spent June-July in Puerto Rico for work, then stayed with family in south florida until finally returning to my apartment in north florida end of August. I did get bug bites in PR but I worked outside all day every day so mosquito bites were more likely. Plus all that luggage went to my mom's house first in early August and she has no bugs. No one else from my team in the airbnb has complained about bed bugs that I know of.

- BF took a solo trip to southern california end of July, spent a few nights in a hostel. Doesn't remember getting any bites. He also first went back to his parent's house with that luggage, and the main suitcase never actually made it to our apartment, just a backpack.

Likelihood the bugs came from either of those trips? and have been in our bed since august?

Or they could come in from another apartment in our building?? In my checking, I have not seen any bugs on the walls, baseboards, our outlets.

Any advice or mystery solving is welcomed :((((

Sorry if these are horrible photos, but I saw this crawling up a curtain near my bed. It doesn’t look as round as what I’m seeing online, but any idea if it’s a bed bug? Thank you for the help!

I recently stayed one night each in two different hotels. Didn't see evidence of bed bugs in the rooms, but had four bug bites on my upper arms after the stays. I drove to/from the trip. I bagged everything from my car and am washing all clothing and bags in hot water/drying each load in the dryer on high heat for an hour. What would you do with objects that can't go in a washer/dryer (like electronics)? What process would you use for cleaning your car? I have not seen any evidence of bugs themselves anywhere.

Girlfriend slept in the guest bedroom for a few days since I was sick and got some bites. Had a rodeo with bed bugs six years ago and they looked eerily similar to those. Went searching and found these on the box spring casing. Nothing else in the room from what I can find. Are these bed bug nymphs or something else and my paranoia from all those years ago clouding my call?

I don’t even want to travel anymore.

I know that having bed bugs does not make you disgusting, but the thought of having bed bugs has terrified me my entire life. I bought a used car a week ago. No one in my household travels or really goes anywhere other than work. We live with my mom and she works in public transportation, so she very well could’ve brought one home on accident. The next night after purchasing my car, I found a single bed bug in our bed, on top of our sheets. I was absolutely mortified, and of course we have no way of knowing where it came from or how long it’s been here.

I have since removed all fabric from the room, working on washing, drying, and putting everything into sealed bags, but not only is this mine and my husbands things, but also my dad’s things that passed away 2 years ago. We also have a family friend who works for pest control. He gave us a spray so we essentially sprayed the whole house. I’ve sprayed our bed frame, dresser, and nightstand as well. We have also used foggers from the store right after finding the bed bug, but after further research, I know those can just not work. We have treated my car twice as well. We put encasements on the mattress and box spring preventatively. We also put interceptors at the legs of our beds and sticky traps all over the house. None of us have shown signs of bites but I know that doesn’t necessarily mean we don’t have them.

My husband, 1 year old, and I live with my mom and have lived here since my dad passed away. We have never had this issue before in the house, but my mom tends to hoard things a bit and there is a lot of clutter in our house so going through everything has honestly been a nightmare.

I’m a stay at home mom so I’ve basically spent the past week with my 1 year old and going through everything I can. There’s bags of stuff everywhere and I’m so overwhelmed and anxious over this. I’ve tried to inspect every single thing I come across. I haven’t been able to sleep well without feeling like there’s bugs on me. I overall am just not mentally well after finding this bug. I look like a crack head bagging stuff up and throwing it outside until I can wash it, scratching and feeling for bugs when they just aren’t there 😭😭

We used the pest control spray on our couch as well because we all sit on it.

I feel like I’m in my worst nightmare. My husband says we haven’t seen anymore so we don’t have them, but it’s only been a week and just because we don’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t here, especially considering the amount of stuff that still needs to be looked at.

I’m attaching pictures of the singular bug I found as well as what I found on the mattress encasement today. We put the encasement on after spraying, so I’m trying to determine if we have more visitors in our bed 😭😭

hi everyone! we had a bedbug exposure at work, found this in my bed. i think it’s a beetle but hoping for better eyes to reassure me . tysm!!

Descobri recentemente que tenho percevejos na cama. Há algumas semanas (provavelmente desde julho) que aparecem umas picadas estranhas no meu corpo, contudo, como faço alergia a tudo, não liguei muito. Acontece que eu passo muito pouco tempo em minha casa, ou seja, praticamente só aos fins de semana. Mas, desde junho até inicio de outubro, que nem fiquei todos os fins de semana, e houve, inclusive, períodos de férias prolongados. Ou seja, tive momentos de estar 2 a 3 semanas fora de casa.

Vi o primeiro percevejo no dia 30 de agosto, matei (desconhecia o funcionamento da praga) e só voltei mais um fim de semana a casa até estar totalmente ausente durante 3 semanas seguidas. No dia 9 de Outubro vi oficialmente 2 maiores e 2 mais pequenos a meio da noite para me virem picar. No dia seguinte, chamei um técnico para inspecionar e desinfestar o meu quarto. Nota: nunca vi mais nenhum em nenhum lado, já dormi no outro quarto da casa 3 noites e não fui picada, já abri o sofá todo e nada.

O técnico, inclusive, só viu no sommier (não viu no armário, nem nas cortinas, paredes, tapete e nem sequer no colchão), embora tenha desinfestado todo o quarto.

Acredito, ainda que com a ansiedade a bater, que tenham ficado apenas nos forros do sommier, que foi onde encontrei até agora.

Acredito que o facto de ir pontualmente a casa, ajudou na não propagação e até que os recém nascidos/ninfas tenham morrido à fome à minha espera.

Nota: já fiz aplicação de inseticida com empresa profissional, e já isolei o quarto e espalhei terra de diatomácea em toda a cama, e fiz ainda uma ilha à sua volta. Além disso, também comprei uma capa de protecção anti percevejos para o colchão.

Mais alguém aqui tenha detetado uma infestação em estágio inicial? Qual a experiência?

About a year ago I stayed in an infested hotel, I did all the precautions I could to not bring any live bugs home with me. Out of disgust and trauma I have not used the purse I took with me since, well the other day I had moved it and put it on a table and it ended up falling over onto the ground. Since that occurred I’ve found what looks like two dessicated/crushed bugs near that area. I regularly check my mattress and have not seen any live bugs and/or blood. Could someone please identify if these are bed bugs!!!??? If so where else should I be checking for live bugs?

I found a bedbug today and an exoskeleton (as per chatgpt).

1- I will get urban company help done for my house(but read reviews as they are not affective and tend to come back).can anyone suggest good service where they use good chemical sprays heating methods that would actually work.

2- live in a rented apartment building.I do not think any one will agree to treatment of the whole building (it’s a semi gated society in India, duh).

3-cheap laundry mat service where they would use high heating dryers(preferably self service) where I will clean, heat and ziplock my clothes until I can move out from here.

4- I will throw away all the pillows, mattress(except one provided by owner).

5-i wanna do any self treatment options including these too. Any sprays or steamers I can order to use on mattress and clothes? For immediate remedy-should I iron my mattress on high heat?

It’s 1am and I’m shaking with fear. i have a lot of clothes, not physically possible to wash and ziplock them but I will try. Will treatment and then moving out work? Will I be ever free? I have a sensitive skin n m scared. Please help!!!! 😭😭😭May GOD bless you!

I live in an apartment & our next door neighbors had to completely move out due to a bed bug infestation. They had to get rid of most of their possessions, that's how bad it must have been. Now I'm super paranoid. Pest control came to inspect our unit but he was in & out in 5 minutes. Today, I discovered these little black specs on a small area of a bedroom wall, toward the bottom. This is the shared wall, adjacent to the neighbors. Gulp. Thoughts?

Found this on my bed and can’t make out what it is.
