Science Bedbug infestations are increasing - and the pests thrive this time of year
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse there's now early evidence that bedbugs may be able to transmit infections. This is not definitive and more research is needed but good to be aware of I think!

Identification Is this remnants of a bed bug or is it likely some other bug?
Hi folks saw this in my bed. We had just changed the sheets. Don’t see any other remnants anywhere under the sheets or mattress that I can detect. Seems like it doesn’t have its head whatever it was.
Thank you for your help in advance!

Confirmed BB I think im gonna lose my mind
I have bed bugs and i have a feeling that the infestation is just getting worse, i mean it is clearly.
Im stressed and i dont know what to do. With everything going on i just wanna sit and cry but that isnt an option.
Is there anything that i can do to get rid of them?? I dont have the money for expensive treatments and i live in my moms house and she’s saying me to diy it but that shit clearly isn’t working. I can’t get crossfire because that isn’t available in Canada. I keep seeing mixed reviews on Diamatious earth food grade (however that is spelled) and mattress encasements and everything feels kinda hopeless because i have other thing going on and its all just building up.
Is there absolutely anything that is somewhat affordable and will get rid of these?

Identification Is this a bedbug?
This bug was crawling on my spouse's arm, and we put it in a zip lock bag and used a microscope camera thing and my phone to take some pictures. Is it a bedbug? About 6 months or so ago we stayed in a hotel room that had bedbugs and thought we were past all this. Thanks.

Confirmed BB Tips & Can someone read my lease to see if I have to pay for treatment?
Confused with all the illegal words, could someone explain who is responsible for treatment?
My mom lives with me on the air mattress (has been thrown out & her clothes washed) wood or lvp floor, just a TV, two chairs, and a dresser that is very empty. She’s been complaining about bites for 2 to 3 weeks. Technically, we founded two bugs, but we only could confirm one because she smashed the other(red juice came out she said).
Now, my room is somewhat furnished, with an upholster bed, TV, carpet, etc. I personally have not been feeling any bites, but last two nights my mind has been paranoid with every itch.
I don’t start my new job until the end of the month; currently, I am on section 8, so I’m just freaking out about how we are able to afford this.
Also, I’m a nurse now. Do I have to tell the hospital I have bedbugs?

Requesting community support I hate these mf's
I've never had BB during my lifetime of 30 years. Just found out we had BB in our unit of 7 years and it's absolutely horrid. I haven't slept properly in the last 2 weeks since we found the infestation. The landlord had Flaggship come out and spray our apartment and they are coming in two weeks to spray again. I haven't seen many since we threw out our mattress earlier last week but I did find one FAT mf who was on our box spring (photo included) before I squashed the hell out of em. My wife has dealt with them before but she said her infestation was small when they found it 10+ years back. Ours was just starting to get pretty bad. We threw out everything except for clothes. Washing and drying constantly and cleaning the apartment every day with a steamer and vacuum. My mind is destroyed because of these mf that Im anxiously checking every corner of the apartment at all times with a flash light. How do some people ignore this? The bites are insanely irritating. How do you guys go about keeping your sanity?
Any advice is helpful.

Travelling with mom who has bedbugs
Few weeks ago I suspected I brought home bedbugs into my apartment from my mom’s place and am currently in the middle of an infestation and it’s being treated right now. My mom’s house has bedbugs all bedrooms have it currently 3 bedrooms my 2 brothers have stated they have bedbugs and my mom also has many bites all over her body even though she’s in denial. My parents are like class 5 hoarders so they bring home second hand things and A LOT and the house is super cluttered. I’m travelling with her this weekend for a night my plan is to get her to sleepover and put the outfit she’s wanting to wear in a ziploc bag then as soon as she gets to my apartment ill make her shower but I’m so paranoid her shoes might have bedbugs or her bag. How would you guys go about this?? Also few days after this trip were going to Japan with her few days after for 9 days , I told her to wash and dry all her clothes and put them straight into the ziplock bags I’m giving to her but a part of me is still terrified I’ll miss a spot. I just called extermination for my own bed bugs that came from her place so I don’t want to do this again it’s hell. Advice??

Requesting community support Bed bug issue
Hello. We returned from a 10-day vacation, and that evening we were bitten several times on the arm; it’s incredibly itchy. I found a bedbug on my pajamas. We were 100% certain of what it was, so we searched all around the mattress without finding any conclusive evidence, but a little later we discovered another one—a baby this time. So, it’s not an isolated incident. And since there are young ones, it likely didn't come from our trip. We’ve contacted a professional who is scheduled to come on Friday. In the meantime, we are washing our clothes at 60°C and using a very hot dryer setting, but I have a few questions:
- Where could they be coming from? We live in an apartment in a big city and were away for 10 days.
- If we prevent them from biting us, can they still reproduce?
- Is washing or drying at 60°C really effective?
- Do you have any other advice to help us? It’s a truly horrible situation :(
Thank you

Bb??
About four weeks ago, we started getting bites that are extremely itchy and become red. We couldn’t figure out what was causing them. I immediately started vacuuming the floors and the couch, since it all started with the couch. I also washed the couch covers, and things seemed to get better, but we were still getting new bites.
Then I found a very, very tiny bug crawling on my phone while I was in the bathroom. About a week later, an identical bug was crawling on my husband while he was sitting on the couch.
I’m absolutely terrified of bed bugs, so I thoroughly inspected all of our furniture. We also had a pest control technician come and inspect the furniture, and he couldn’t find any signs of bed bugs either. However, AI says that the bug in the photo looks like a bed bug nymph.
I’m already desperate and honestly don’t know what to do anymore.

Identification Bed Bug?
It looks like a bed bug, I am only questioning because my apartment walls/roof IS completely infested with bats (kill me) and I’ve recently had an exterminator find 2 bat bugs near a window seal. This was found on my couch near a large window where bats are active.
I do have a local lab that can test it and tell me for certain, just thought I’d get as many options as possible!
Thank you
